Ra's eyes began to glow brightly as he began to creep his way towards the floor vent; this glow was a trick he had yet to show anyone. He had made enough eye contact with Chris recently to activate the trick, allowing him to see what Chris saw; Ra was now effectively seeing through two sets of eyes simultaneously. If Chris were to be surrounded, Ra would know immediately when and where to stage a rescue, and were Ra to be captured, he would know exactly where Chris was and if he was aware of the capture.
"s**t...that's a lot of guards...hope you can take them kid." he thought to himself.

With the excitement of an approaching party flowing in their veins, the girls ate quickly, yet politely, helped their mother clear and wash everything as fast as they could while still doing a good job, and then started to rush in the direction of the big room in the back of the house. That was the room all the girls always used to change and primp in.

Before she, too disappeared around the corner, Lin turned her head back to Lia. "Lia, if you want, we'd love to have you come back here with us. We have robes that will look great on you! It is up to you, of course. If you would like to join us, just head on back here, please." She smiled brightly and then followed her sisters around the corner.

Samiel chuckled softly and stood from the table. "Well, boys, I think we should leave the women to their ways and possibly take a trip to the spring. How does that sound?"

Before Ambrose could say anything, if he was even going to, the two young boys jumped out of their booster seats gracefully and started running toward the front door excitedly. Only Elf toddlers could do all of that an not fall flat on their face.

Nathan carefully took the photograph by the edges from Aurora, and examined it. There was no readable expression on his face, nothing hinting at confusion or recognition. That was one of Mr. Enlil's strengths, being able to read people without being read back, along with a memory like a steel trap. He read the name first. Etscher V. The name itself meant nothing to Nathan at the moment. He was focusing on the handwriting, comparing it to what must have been at least three million signatures he's ever seen. It definitely seemed fairly familiar, the style and spacing of the letters.

He flipped the photograph over and switched modes, trying to match up this man's face with all the faces Nathan had ever seen. Of course, it was an old photo, so Nathan never once thought that there would be an exact match. But his eyes... this man, Etscher, his ees were clearly familiar. And the gash across the left cheek.....

Nathan handed the photo back to the bounty hunter. Never once did the human indicate whether or not he had recognized Etscher V.

"And when you find this man, what are you going to do?"

"He is to be taken back to my side and prosecuted for his many crimes. If he resists, I've been given authorization to use lethal force." He put the photograph away rather carelessly. "Now there's a reason why I was sent to this place specifically rather than where Etscher is. Were I to be 'ported over to wherever he may be, it would all be very noticeable and probably get me killed; the justice system on my side always sends us Hunters to an inconspicuous locale that has some sort of lead to the bounty's location..." He paused for a moment, thinking to himself whether to light another cigarette. "What this lead is exactly, I haven't the slightest clue."
As if to make idle conversation in this rather awkward moment, "So, whatcha folks upto?"

((I really don't want to go any farther with this until ImEx gets a chance to post. Luna's most likely gonna want to have her two cents acknowledged by everyone, whether they think it's good sense or not.))

Lia nodded excitedly, and was dashing off with the girls in record time, excited at the thought of clothes. Meanwhile, Ambrose nodded, ready to go along with anything and everything suggested...Well, to a point, at least.

Samiel had taken all the men to the small pool of spring beside the mountain (instead of the large lake of spring water in the center of the city). The boys had played around in the water for awhile before Samiel announced that they should go back and get ready for the party. Then, once they were back in the house, Samiel first went to his room and helped the boys get ready and then brought Ambrose back to his room and helped him chose a very nice set of dress robes ((your choice on what you want them to look like, Mitsuki, if he even want to describe them at all. smile ))

About 40 minutes later, Lin came out into the living room with Gwendolyn. Kember was finishing putting earrings in Lia's ears and then they both would be out, too.

Gwendolyn's dress was a soft blue color to compliment her vibrant blue hair.

Lin's was a deep maroon and her hair was in its natural style: soft brown with loose curls draping over her shoulders.

She was spinning happily. "Oh we're all almost ready, I think!"

((Ooh, dress up. What fun.))

When Lia entered the room, her eyes widened over the sight of the colorful robes. Immediately her eyes latched on to one in particular. It was a lovely blue dress with quite a long train, and a pattern she just couldn't resist. "That one!" She said, and in a matter of minutes she was in the dress and inspecting herself in a mirror. It was...missing something. Ah, that was it. With a wave of her hands, a bouquet of flowers appeared in her hands and a flower crown dropped onto her head.

Satisfied, she walked out with Lin to see what Ambrose had chosen. When she spotted him, she silently approved of the choice. It was a simple black number, with a little gold here and there to keep it from being too boring. User Image

However, she noticed that Ambrose's eyes only skimmed over her before latching on to Lia. So, she thought, that's how it was...Interesting.

((Sorry it took so long, I had to find a picture for Ambrose...))

((Got to comment on something about Lia.... Don't mean to keep ignoring her. And I love both outfits you picked out! biggrin They both look very Elf-like, and I love the many layers of Ambrose's outfit. smile ))

Kember wasn't sure about the flowers on top of Lia's head. Yes, many Elves did that in the middle of Spring and Summer, but it was still Winter. So, it didn't really work with the outfit. But before she could stop her, she was already racing out of the room to show off her outfit. She had to admit that the girl had picked out a great dress. It went so well with her hair and complexion. She obviously knew a lot about fashion, which Kember could really appreciate. The only thing that hindered her was that she didn't know about the Elven customs in the city when it came to accessories, such as flowers. That wasn't her fault. And no one would think badly of her at the party because they all knew that Lia and Ambrose were new. Elves were a lot more flexible and kind than some people gave them credit for.

Kember followed Lia out of the room and then saw Ambrose standing there in his nice robes. "Wow Ambrose. Those robes look quite stunning on you. Good choice." She winked at him playfully. She was quite a flirt.

Lin giggled softly at her sister's antics but then composed herself and nodded toward Ambrose. "Yes, Ambrose, you look quite nice. Part of the style of Elves is choosing which robes to put on for an outfit and in which order to put them on in. You did quite a good job. And Lia, your dress is beautiful!"

((Ah, thanks. Ambrose' took forever, though...I was trying to find an actual human pic, but that wasn't happening, so...))

Lia beamed at Lin's compliment, noticed the way a blush almost, but not quite, reached its way up to Ambrose' cheeks when Lin complimented him. He'd thought it best to tie back his hair to look more formal, so it was in an artist-like ponytail going down his back. He really needed to get a hair cut so to as not look like some starving musician...

Ambrose bowed and smiled at Kember, sending her a playful wink when no one else was looking. He enjoyed a good sense of humor. Then he turned to Lin and positively beamed. "Thank you, Lin. I must say, you...and your sister and mine, of course, picked out wonderful dresses. They're quite lovely." He said, smiling as he looked at her.

((Huh... I guess now that I think about it, it might be harder to find men who would be willing to dress up in those robes for pictures. Maybe costume designers don't even make that many robes for men.))

Lin couldn't hold back a soft giggle at Ambrose's compliment. Besides Dymetri and random boys at Mystic Fountain, she usually didn't hear a compliment from a male her age. Bai Ching was an all-girl's school, and besides that, she never usually ventured outside of her forest city. What was the point? Who would want to leave this wonderful, magical city? Which was probably why her parents and Headmistress agreed it would be best, if she wanted to be a skilled healer, for her to go to the West and get exposure to other cultures and places.

"Thank you, Ambrose. That is very kind of you to say."

Samiel smiled softly to himself. He had been observing everything the past few minutes, naturally. He had seen Ambrose's cheeks had blushed just very lightly, almost like a play of the lights, when Lin complimented his appearance. It didn't happen when Kember complimented him, so it was not due to the fact that the boy blushed at compliments. And he also noticed when Ambrose complimented Lin but then quickly covered it by complimenting the other girls as well. This was quite interesting. Samiel had found that he liked Ambrose even more after casually chatting with him by the spring as his young sons played in the water. He was a very mature and intelligent young man. Perfect for Lin. He would provide many interesting and intelligent conversations with her, something he knew his daughter needed.

Lin's mother Rose, however, had been focusing on making sure that Lia's and Ambrose's robes seemed to fit them and did not need re-stitching. Surprisingly, they seemed to fit both of them perfectly. Absolutely perfectly.

"Well, Ambrose, Lia, I would say that you have your first official robes to add to your regular wardrobe, if you wish. It's as if these were made for you."

The 3 sisters nodded at both of them, obviously wanting them to take the robes. The girls had never once worn the robes Lia was wearing. It just did not match any of their complexions or hair color, and no man in their family had ever worn Ambrose's robes before. It had just never crossed their minds to wear them.

Finished with her inspection, Rose turned to focus on 3 of her daughters. "Now girls, you each have drank your lemon tea with honey, correct?"

Kember and Gwendolyn nodded, but Lin's eyes grew very wide and a look of horror appeared on her face as well as a bright pink blush. "Oh Mother, no!"

It wasn't really disobeying her mother. No. It was almost a question, as if she didn't hear her mother right, hoped, she hadn't heard her mother correctly. Yes, Lin had sang with her sisters at parties many times. But not when classmates had been present! It would be quite embarrassing to have all that focus on her! Her voice was so much higher and child-like than any of her sisters' voices had ever been. She blended in quite well with her sisters, but when a solo came, her age obviously showed through her voice. It was a nice change of tone at parties to hear her lilting, pure voice, but in front of classmates, it would just be embarrassing!

Rose went over to her daughter and put her hands gently on her shoulders. She knew what her daughter was worried about. Even though she had so many children, she made sure that she knew each of them inside and out. They were her children, after all!

"Lin, it would be wonderful for Ambrose and Lia to get a true, complete experience of an Elven party. After all, it is in their honor that we are holding it. We are their hosts."

She put her pale, elegant hand on the side of Lin's face and smiled softly and encouragingly at her daughter.

Lin sighed every so softly but then nodded. "Yes, Mother, of course."

Rose smiled proudly at her daughter and then nodded at her as she gently turned her around to face the direction of the kitchen. Again, it was right there in the large area that consisted of the living room, dining area, and kitchen.

Lin sighed softly once more and then walked over to one of the cabinets above the kitchen counters. She pulled out a glass and the honey, went to the fridge to get the tea, and then made herself a glass of tea and honey that coated and protected a singer's voice.

((Breaking my post into 2 parts.))

Seeing that that part was taken care of, Samiel glided over to his wife with a charming and enchanting smile on his face. He bowed elegantly and held his hand out to her.

"May I please have the honor of escorting you to the party, Mrs. Yin?"

Kember and Gwendolyn smiled and giggled as they watched their father. They had seen him do this many times as they were growing up, but it always impressed them greatly. They couldn't wait to have husbands of their own that would treat them so respectfully and acted so debonair.

Rose meanwhile broke into a charming, happy smile of her own and nodded to her husband while curtsying. She placed one of her hands in his. "Of course. I would love to join you, Mr. Yin."

Samiel smiled again and gently kissed his wife's beautiful hand. He then straightened up, put his wife's hand around his arm, and went to stand beside her. He then smiled encouragingly at his young sons and nodded.

Briar, dressed in small bright blue robes with his bright red hair moussed but still managing to look askew on the top of his head, marched over to Lia and bowed largely and elegantly. His head almost touched the ground.

"Miss Rinaldi! Will you do me the extreme honor of escorting me to the party?" He held out his hand for her, still bowed in front of her. He knew her last name because Lin had told them all what it was when she was telling them what little she knew about Ambrose and Lia.

Gwendolyn and Kember had to bite their bottom lip not to giggle at their brother. He was so cute! He did a wonderful job, albeit quite loudly, and he was just so cute!

Samiel and Rose looked on proudly at their son. Quite the little gentleman. They, Samiel nodded encouragingly at Onyx.

The youngest Yin looked down at the ground and went over to the sister who had the same color of hair as his bright blue: Gwendolyn.

He bowed his head to the ground quickly and mumbled very softly and very quickly. No one could hear the poor boy.

Samiel knew his son was always quite shy and timid, but as a male Elf, he had to be brought up with good manners and to know how to behave with the best etiquette. So, he cleared his throat softly so that his son would hear and know that he needed to try again.

Onyx nodded to his father, but since his head was still bowed to the ground, it looked as if he was nodding to the ground.

Gwendolyn, meanwhile, was forcing her lips together so that she didn't laugh at her poor but so cute brother. She wouldn't have laughed cruelly, of course! It was just that he was so cute and was trying so hard even though he was so shy!

Onyx tried again a little louder. "Miss Gwendol.... um, sorry. Miss Yin, will you do me the... HONOR of escro... escroting... ESCORTING you to the party?" He held his little hand out to his sister and the poor thing was shaking just slightly.

Gwendolyn quickly took his little hand before he could be embarrassed by his shaking, and nodded enthusiastically and proudly at her little brother. "Of course I will, Mr. Yin! I would be very honored."

Onyx stood up quickly, put his sister's hand around his small arm, and then went and huddled by his sister's side. Gwendolyn was whispering something to him, probably about how well he had done and how proud he should be of himself.

Samiel had nodded proudly at Onyx and inwardly sighed in relief. Now just to wait to hear Lia's response and see which of the last 2 women left he would also ask to escort.

Alec simply cocked an eyebrow at Aurora, finding it hard to process what the man just outlined to him. Inter-dimensional travel? Alec had seen a lot of strange things in his life, but this was pushing his weird limits. Alec gave him a strange half smile as he let out a quick laugh to try and move the conversation along. "Ah heh, well now, that's quite a story there." Alec put his hand on Nathan's shoulder and spoke lowly in his ear. "Can I talk with you a minute?" Alec then turned back to Aurora and smiled at him to try and put the man at ease. "Excuse us, we'll only be a minute."

Alec moved Nathan until they were at the other side of the classroom where soft whispering could not be heard readily. Alec gave Nathan a serious look as he began to voice his concerns about Aurora. "Right, so what do you think? Do you think we can trust him? Do we even know who the guy is that he's after? All this talk about inter-dimensional police work has got me suspicious. I mean, I've seen some weird things, but this is pushing even my limits."
