"Mostly other first timers, but a few returns," Haidee said, popping another seed into her mouth. "Let's see... Lady Viola. Little Cosmo," she added, bopping the tiny prince on the head. "Prince Thomas, that wolf boy, that ghastly girl with the eyepatch who sent me to the nurse... my roommate's been sent packing, it seems, so I'm all alone there."

She shrugged, crunching down on her seeds. "On the whole, the school seems full of..." ...politeness, Haidee... "Variety," she said delicately.

Haidee hummed a little tune, little rainbows arcing from her cheeks as she did. "So, may I ask where you're from?" she asked, looking Levy over. "Where I come from, only a few wear armor, and I've never worn it myself."

Levy popped a seed into her mouth, her eyes squinting as she tried to figure out if she liked this strange and exotic food or not. Unable to decide she continued to pop the seeds into her mouth, like candy as she listened to Haidee speak. A sudden look of realization sprung upon the blonde's face as she realized that it was indeed Haidee who had been sent to the nurse during the brawl. She clucked her tongue softly, shaking her head in disbelief. "Some people..." She muttered in regards to eyepatch girl who had sent her to the nurse.

Speaking of roommates... Levy wasn't even sure if she had received hers yet. She would offer the princess the other half of her room if she knew for certain, but because she wasn't sure, she instead offered her company. "I'm sorry to hear about your roommate... If you'd ever like to visit me in Room 108, my door is always open," She offered the long haired girl a smile, truly hoping she'd take to her offer.

Levy took a bite of her sandwich, unable to properly label the feelings she held for the little seeds. "I hear ya on that one," She said, her dialogue slipping into a casual drawl which was an indication of her state of comfortability. Haidee seemed like a good kid in Levy's books.

"I'm from Fiore, a country that seems to have no end. Fields, flowers, forests, towns, cities. It goes on and on, even through the oceans that border it on three sides. In our kingdom, there are people who make a living by making good use of magic. People call them mages. Mages belong to various guilds where they do jobs on demand for the service of others. We depend on each other to survive." She paused, looking down at her armor and let out a soft chuckle. "The armor is merely my own addition to my identity. And what about you, Haidee, if I may be as so casual to call you just as such... From where do you resign?"

"Oh, they come and they go," Haidee said, brushing off the departure of her roommate. "People, I mean. That's kind of you to offer, perhaps I'll bother you with questions about classes rather than trying to track down a professor after hours."

She dug into the pomegranate using her plate to hold the inedible flesh of the fruit as she picked out more seeds. "Tell me, is fighting normal here? If it is, I fear I shall have to leave since I clearly cannot defend myself," she said. "And if everything one hears is to be believed, then I should think it a dangerous oversight that we haven't all been assigned bodyguards."

Haidee listened politely as Levy waxed eloquent about Fiore. "Well, that does sound like a lovely place," Haidee said, trying to imagine a place as diverse and lovely as she described. "I would love to visit someday, provided I could get by in just a dress."

With a little smile, Haidee produced her Prisma baton from the folds of her sleeve. "I come from the mountains of Prisma," she said, drawing her baton across the table. A line of white blossomed where she touched, spiraling out and dyeing the table the pleasing, empty white of a blank canvas. "They're just mountains. High, cold, windy. I live in the castle, where the Prisma orchestra performs throughout the day to give color to the sunset."

Haidee tapped the baton against the table. It turned green. "Mmm," Haidee said disapprovingly, tapping it again and again. Pink, then purple, and then red. "Ugh. I'm no good at interior design," she concluded, hitting the back end of the baton against the table. It reverted back to the dark wood, as if nothing had happened. Things always seemed to look better in her mind than they did on her subjects. "It's a good thing I'm meant to conduct, not perform... else sunsets would be lime green and neon."

Vincent had followed Lord Kenton out from their Literature class, still feeling morose over his surely failed first test. As they entered the Dining Hall for lunch, he simply sat at the long benches without taking anything, laying his head down on his arms and sighing. "Why is the English language so difficult, Kenton... Why don't you tell me? Just because it is the Lingua Franca of most of Europe doesn't mean that I have to be English-literate where I live..." The Duke was just sour over his shortcomings, and wasn't in the mood to listen to reason. His first day, and things were already difficult. Why study things he'd never have need to bother with?

Kenton frowned, eating a bite of his ham. "I rather though you knew English well," he said. "Perhaps you are like me. I am self-taught writing and reading, I know nothing of, of nouns and pro nouns and clauses. I thought a Santa Clause was a religious thing, perhaps I am wrong."

He peered down at Vincent moping on the table, and reached out to awkwardly pat him on the head. "Er. There, there. We are lords and dukes where they are royals. If we make mistakes, the impact will be far less than when they do." It was some small comfort; after all the ultimate goal of a noble was to someday become a royal—at least, it was where he came from.

Kenton broke off a piece of his bread and offered it to Vincent. "Come now. Surely you need to eat something, milord." Kenton checked his own schedule. Ouch... this day wasn't going to get any easier, but at least this was familiar territory. "I have fighting class next."

...for it is the soldier who must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war.

Levy nodded along in agreement to Haidee's remarks about people's shortcomings. She knew all too well what the princess spoke of, and was hopeful that she would actually take up on her offer.

Taking a small bit of her sandwich, the blonde regarded Haidee's first comment carefully. "Well," She began, dabbing at the corner of her lips with a napkin. "Fighting is a required class to complete at some point during your years here at the academy. Personally, I find my fighting skills to be a valuable asset, and not just on the field. I can assure you, however, that things don't get... too... out of hand here. In class, they don't just teach offensive attacks, either. So, if you're interested in learning to defend yourself properly, I suggest signing up for the class. Though... I'm not sure when we will be receiving a new teacher, for I was supposed to have that class last period and the teacher was absent!" Levy shook her head sadly upon the last statement, taking a sip of water from her glass in front of her.

The princess smiled warmly hearing Haidee speak so kindly of Fiore. "Perhaps that can be arranged some day," She was not too eager to extend a formal invitation just yet, for she still knew little about the other princess but that could all change.

Levy listened quietly as Haidee spilled a beautiful tale of Prisma. It was so exotic to the blonde, but she was highly intrigued. "Prisma sounds like a beautiful place to live. I can't even imagine a place as spell-bounding as it!" It was true, for what other land could compete with the intriguing music and colored canvas that defined Prisma?

Out of the corner of her eye, Levy noticed a particular boy enter the Dining Hall. Vincent... The princess pursed her lips in dissatisfaction, slightly annoyed at having been stood up by the duke. No matter though. At least she had Haidee now.

Haidee rolled her eyes. "Absent teachers, lackadaisical security, students coming in and out at all times... is this an academy or a holding cell?" she asked, tucking her baton away again and prying more seeds out of the pomegranate. It was nearly empty by now, and she set what was left onto her plate to take away later.

She smiled, thinking of home again. "I do miss it, but it is nice to get away now and again. I've never traveled outside of our borders, this is rather exhilarating for me," she added. "Do you travel much?"

Haidee saw that Levy was a little preoccupied by... something. "Is something the matter?" she asked, peering around the hall.

Christopher walked in the door and piled his plate with meat like usual. He was rather disappointed that the teacher didn't even bother to show up. Word on the street was that there was a new teacher in the school, supposedly a hard-a**. Chris saw Levy and the little dove from the library, but decided to keep his distance.

Eh, I'm not in the mood for dames. Not in the mood to deal with anyone right now.

Novae walked into the hall with caution as she did most of the time. She grabbed a few bags of blood and crawled up to her usual perch on the ceiling, usually drinking upside-down. She liked to observe her surroundings and basically people-watch. Plus, from the angle she was hiding in, she could avoid being seen, however not smelled. She saw Christopher stuffing his face with meat. Filthy barbarian.

Princess Charlotte Aimee Erlaucht of Württemberg

(Enter)

Nervously and silently, Charlotte made her way into the Dining Hall. As she began to walk along the wall, she glanced over at those whom were sitting, searching eagerly for an empty seat. "Anything away from people", she thought to herself as she noticed an empty corner at the end of one of the tables. She took a deep breathe, hoping not to alert anyone of her presence and quickly walked to the seat. As she sat, she grabbed the book that had been in her hands and opened it, beginning to read.

Levy tore her gaze away from Vincent and laughed softly at Haidee's comparison of the academy to a holding cell. "It may seem like it at first, but trust me, you'll come to love it here. I wouldn't have come back for a third term if I didn't." The princess finished off the last bite of her sandwich and wiped her lips with her napkin.

Hearing Haidee speak of traveling, Levy's eyes lit up with excitement. "Oh, I love traveling! Unfortunately I haven't seen much outside of my own country... But there's so much to see there that I feel like I'm visiting a new world almost every time I stumble across a new place!" It was like Haidee had lit a fire under the blonde princess who was suddenly leaning forward in her seat, arms folded on the table though her scarlet eyes glittered. "Exhilarating, huh? I think that's the perfect way to describe it..."

She waved the other princess' question away with her hand. "No, no worries. Tell me, how did you travel here?" Levy's nose suddenly wrinkled as she caught a whiff of another familiar scent. Her keen senses began to analyze the smell and identified it as Princess Novae, the girl she had met outside the Fighting classroom. She looked around, spotting the girl in the ceiling - What is she doing there? - and offered a brief wave. She could also smell Prince Christopher, but decided to leave him be and returned her attention to Cosmo and Haidee.

~Prince Cosmo Katamari~
The Littlest Prince of the Stars

"No, no, no!" Cosmo said, rocketing off his seat on his katamari ball and stamping his little feet. "It's safe now, but it's dangerous here!" he told Haidee.

He bounced up and down, half out of excitement and half of anxiety. "We had a war here last year and that's why the ballroom's all wrecked and we had to hire a bunch of new staff and like half the people didn't come back from last year but I did and Tom did and Sherlock did and and and a buncha people did, just not everybody," he reeled off. "Mister Herr wasn't always headmaster! And Mister Sir wasn't always etiquette!" he spouted off, referring to the new permanence of their temporary teacher.

Cosmo bit his lip. Was this ok to talk about over lunch? Probably not. Madame always said that there were topics inappropriate to talk about in front of ladies and food. "Sorry," he peeped, returning to the crumbs that remained of his muffin.

Novae's acute hearing couldn't help but hear the little ball of energy discussing the events of last year. Frankly, she didn't appreciate anyone talking about it so frivolously in conversation. Novae lowered herself down to their eye level and hung upside down from the ceiling looking at Levy and then at the... What the hell is that? "Pardon me, but I couldn't help but hear your discussion of last year's incident," she said as she sucked up the blood bag through a straw, "You there, little one, what's your name?"

Rob waved off Eleanor's concerns over his nightmares. "Thank you, Sister, but I'm used to them by now. Going back to sleep is easy," he said nonchalantly, hiding his lie behind a smile. They were always so vivid, so real. But Rob didn't want anyone to be concerned about him. After all, one had to keep up appearances these days!

He frowned where Eleanor mentioned the firing of the fighting teacher and quick hiring of a new one. He'd been close to the same situation earlier. "Herr is quite efficient in hiring, it seems. I'm impressed and a bit intimidated but him, really. Though I think most people are...as for this new fighting teacher, do we know anything about them yet?" he asked.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Amaranth walked into the dining hall to see the crowd and sighed. She scanned the room looking for Sherlock, but he wasn't there. Probably holed up in his room, recovering from this summer, she thought, the smallest of amused smile coming to her face for a moment before dropping. Well, she may as well get this over with. Hopefully no one too annoying would bother her while she ate.
The elf walked over to the buffet and fixed a simple salad and a sandwich before taking a seat in the most isolated spot she could find, though someone was there. That someone was reading a book, though, so Amaranth wouldn't bother her. She leaned back in her chair some and silently watched the room and the people in it. Cosmo's small voice echoed across the room and Amaranth found him surrounded by plenty of new people. Good to see he's making friends, she thought.
