Ophiuchus sighed, and continued, ignoring Lin. There was a reason Danni had to be included. "Miss Wolfe was murdered, and Setsuka took her place in this plane. We are down another teacher, and, well... Ialo didn't take it well at all."
"I can't quite find the words to describe what a threat Rotatsu Setsuka is, other than that she makes Riser look like a philanthropist.
Only then, did he turn and look at Lin. "You're free to go. In fact, you may even leave the school, if you wish. Last time a war broke out, many students chose to flee back home. I personally, would prefer to see you safe and happy rather than in danger. However, if you choose to stay, you will sit and listen." He stood up.
"What this school revolves around, is the Mystic Fountain. It revolves around protecting it, and training the next generation of guardians for it. We talk about Danni, because she attracts enemies. Enemies and the Fountain are the two worst things to combine."
"Following that logic, both Danni and Ialo are the two worst people to have in this building, ever."

Adolf's lips pursed almost unnoticeably. "This Rotatsu Setsuka... Unless I am mistaken, she tried some one thousand years ago to obtain--well, something. I assume it is this Fountain you have mentioned. I know very little, but I remember the war." It was the first time he'd spoken since entering the room, but this matter was bothering hm greatly. "Is it the same woman?"
Adolf didn't know. He'd been traveling then. During part of the war, he'd been in Europe, and for the rest of it he'd been in Africa. He'd spent a great amount of time in Africa. The natives had adored him.

Lin was not some coward who fled when things got tough. She was a healer and times like these required more skilled healers than ever.
She sighed and sat back down in her chair. She'd listen, but she didn't have to like it. All this attention given over one silly student when a professor as skilled and compassionate as Dymetri was practically ignored. His death was a true tragedy, but these people literally went to hell and back to rescue a simple student. This was complete insanity and she didn't know how the school planned to survive if they kept this mentality up. If it looked as if the school was going to go under, then she would move the patients to her home. She would wait until she was absolutely sure that the school was going to fall before she moved them, of course. But she would not hesitate to take extreme measure to protect the patients. They were her top priority.

((But technically, no one went to Hell and back for Danni. Poor Lin.))
Ophiuchus watched Lin intently as the girl sat back down. He was pleased that someone with such healing ability chose to stay, but he felt Lin still did not yet have the mental maturity to accept all the events happening around her. And in that case, he honestly would have preferred if she left. He could not babysit someone who was supposed to be assisting him.
"She did," Ophiuchus responded to Adolf's question. "I was not personally there, but they are the same Setsuka." That had happened after Ophi had hid himself for a thousand years.

{{I thought that's where they were at when they went to go get Danni and where she 'defeated' Satan. Satan = Hell, right? And I'm going to have to leave for a little over half an hour. I'll be back soon! biggrin }}

((...I dunno.))
Danni twisted in bed, then with a long-suffering groan, sat up again, cursing. People were talking about her, damn it. Did they think she didn't know? She had a tracking spell on Cook, on all the people she cared about, and at the moment he was in a spot where her name was being spoken with no little revulsion and annoyance...Good two shoes elf. God damn.
Ill-tempered, just a bit recharged from her twenty minute power nap, she managed a wobbly portal, stepped through it so she appeared in the same room as Ophi and the others, sitting crosslegged against the wall.
She tuned in just in time to hear that she and Ialo were the worst people to have at the school, yada yada. Well, she'd known that, damn it. But they just wouldn't let her leave.
"Don't get your panties in a twist, elf. And don't call me Isa-fricking-dora." She muttered, eyes narrowed.

{{How can Danni hear something that's going on clear across campus? lol.}}
Lin sighed, not surprised at all that Danni had snuck in. She replied lowly and evenly. "The day I take orders from you is the day that I myself will be put in the ground."

((...because it's late and my brain says she can due to some spell or another. It doesn't make much sense once the sun goes down.))
Danni rolled her eyes, and would've said something else, something she most likely would've regretted later, if Ambrose hadn't walked in then, his gaze searching.
It landed first on Lin, and the love there was obvious, there for all to see if you knew where to look. And it was there, deep in his eyes, shining past the fatigue and brightening his face. He walked to her, his hand automatically going to her shoulder, reassuring, supportive.
Only then, when beside her, did he notice Danni, and that grin she knew so well split his face, even as his hand moved to rub Lin's shoulder, supporting.
"Izzy, there you are. What are you doing on the floor instead of in bed? You're exhausted." His voice was gentle, and nearly broke her. But she kept her voice cool when she replied.
"I would be sleeping in my nice comfy bed if my damned spell hadn't picked up on multiple persons saying my name with varying levels of impatience." She said, and Ambrose sighed, shaking his head.

Lin would have actually responded with a terse comment of her own, but when Ambrose's hand rested on her shoulder, she immediately closed her eyes and sighed in comfort. Just his simple presence could relax her so much, and she knew instantly when he was standing behind her.
She reached up with one of her hands and intertwined her fingers with Ambrose's lightly, the ones on her shoulder.
She leaned her head back on his chest and then opened her eyes to look up at him. She smiled softly and affectionately.

"Lin, why don't you and I go to the garden for a bit? It's relax us both." And would also get her away from his tempermental baby sister. Two birds with one stone, he thought, and smiled.
Danni, who had no problem reading between the lines, rolled her eyes but kept quiet, tilting her head back to study the ceiling while they had their lovey-dovey moment.
