As Danni chanted her spell (very corny spell, he thought, but he dared not say that out loud), Ialo came up behind Lazaraeth and dove for his target. It was neither Satan nor the Hell Dragon himself, per se...
More like, Ialo had a crazy idea to copy what he did in Zurich, against Krauser's Altered God. It was just one more thing that indebted him to Riser.
Ialo kept some distance from Lazareth. He drew his breath, then unleashed a blue firestorm on the edge of the black dragon's wing sail.

((I'll just solve this little blame dillema by smiting you both with the awesome power of Cassie...Are you smited yet?))
"No, you..." Ambrose trailed off as he saw a boy falling down the hill...seriously. When James fell into the pond, he cursed, long and low, and hauled him out again.
"There now, no fussing, not at this moment. The pixies are agitated." He murmured, and summoned a ball of light in his hand, warm and pulsing.
"There, my cousins, just a little helping gift. He didn't mean to break the barrier. Take some of this magic now, just a bit of mine, to rebuild. We'll make it right again, get the balance back." He released the orb into the water, watched it hit the bottom. Thousands of little golden and silver specks drifted over to it, and light flashed blindingly for a moment before it pulsed once, then settled, and the barrier glimmered softly once more.
"Ah, there we are..." He murmured, then pivoted to face James. "Ok, now we fuss. Are you all right, then?" He asked, drawing off his light jacked and tossing it over the boy's shoulders.

Lin smiled over at Ambrose behind James with a softness in her eyes. He was so sweet! He gave some of his own magic to the water pixies. Not many would do that.
And he even put his jacket over James' shoulders! How kind. She nodded to James. "Are you alright James?"
She looked at Ambrose as she waited for James to respond. "I do not know if you two know each other, but just in case you do not, James, this is Ambrose and Ambrose, this is James."

(( You told me to post now. razz I was gunna wait. And nope, not smote.))
James spluttered and coughed as he climbed back onto the shore, not exactly thrilled with the fact that he'd just accidentally broken in on someone's private outing. Not to mention lost his scythe. And sketchbook. And he was soaking wet. And had a headache. And he was... stop complaining.
He shivered slightly as he was pulled up onto the shore and shook some of the excess water off his head. The most avoided student in the school wasn't used to people being nice to him particularly since she left. Oh, wait, she was back apparently. He had to get back into the habit of paying attention. "Nice of you to tell me that you were back Lin..." he said, shaking his head again as he looked up at her friend.
He didn't recognize him.... Then again, Lin was the only person in the school he talked with. Well, that was still alive. He felt him put his jacket on his back and nodded in thanks. He wasn't even sure what in the world had tripped him.... Wouldn't put it past one of the other students, although it might've just been over his own feet. He put his hand to his head as the multiple hits against the ground hadn't exactly helped his headache any. He reached into his pocket, pulling out the soaking wet bag and poured the remaining 8 leaves into his mouth, his eyes immediately shifting between green and purple every couple of seconds.

{{I said you COULD post now that Mitsuki was on. wink }}
Lin gasped at James' words and frowned slightly. This didn't seem like him. He was usually so polite and kind to her. Some of the other kids must have been picking on him again and got him in a very poor mood.
"James, I just arrived here about half an hour ago. I was visiting Ambrose first... I do not even know where your room is located. I do not know how to find you to tell you anything."
She noticed that he had just used his last bit of herbs and she quickly turns her back to the men, lifts up the front of her skirt slightly, takes out a bag from her potions thigh holster, puts her skirt back down, and turns back around.
She smiled with another bag of herbs in her hand and she held it out to him. "Just in the nick of time, James! I have another bag of herbs for your headaches!"

James winced, hearing the tone of her voice as he looked down, his guilt welling up inside of him. Most people, if they'd just fallen down a hill into a lake and were now freezing and dripping wet, would be expected to be a little irritated. But not him, the guilt immediately washed over him, frowning as he put his head down in his knees. He sighed quietly started scratching the mud with his finger, one of the symbols from his scythe, which had slid a few feet further down the hill from where he'd dropped it before stopping with his sketchbook.
"Sorry Lin," he said as the medicine started to take effect, his head beginning to float as his eyes flashed between the violet that came when his powers were activated and their regular color. He didn't notice the changing color, he never did. Wouldn't even know it happened if there weren't people around when he activated his powers from time to time. He was also pretty sure that he'd seen his reflection in something or other from time to time.
"Thanks," he said softly, the guilt still obvious in his voice. He was borrowing someone else's jacket, getting it all wet. He'd snapped at one of... the only friend he had. He'd disturbed the pixies in the lake, and he was intruding on their private moment. He sighed again, his frown deepening on his face. He was going to get wrinkles before he turned 20 at this rate.

Lin sighed and sat down beside James. She playfully and gently nudged his arm with hers. "Hey, cheer up. I just got back! And you have just met one of my friends, who is very sweet and kind."
She smiled up at Ambrose and then returned to looking at James as she spoke. "There is a lot to be happy about here. So do not frown, please. I become sad when I see one of my friends sad."

'Sweet', she said. 'Kind', she said. 'Friend', she said. What was that sound? Oh, right, his ego shattering. Next she'd be pulling out words like 'cute' and 'dependable'. Right. Sweet, dependable Ambrose. He could be a friend, a confidant, a study buddy or a sounding board, but at the end of the day that was all he could ever be. Joy and rapture...
Shaking off the mood, he grinned at James, settling on the grass. "And we wouldn't want to make our lovely Lin sad now, would we friend?" He asked, and then spotted something gleaming in the sun. With a flick of his wrist, he had what looked suspiciously liek a scythe flying into his hand. He stared at it, blinked, then offered it to James.
"Is this yours, then?" He asked, deciding he was better off just not asking anything else.

Lin gasped as Ambrose flicked his wrist and James' scythe came flying into his hand.
"It looks as if I have not been the only one who has kept her powers a secret. Ambrose, I had no idea you could do that! That is quite incredible!"
She smiled brightly at Ambrose. There was a glint of admiration in her eyes.

Athena paid minimal attention to the goings-on. She concentrated solely on keeping her reaction going, keeping the process heading from reactant to product. Her energy was devoted almost totally to this, and she began to shake, almost seeming to vibrate. But she couldn't lose concentration--the cost of recreating the activation energy was too great.
If she lost concentration, she would have no more energy. This reaction was, in a respect, exothermic, and she was taking in the energy that was given off to replenish herself--it was not much, though. The activation was much higher, and she was drained. She would have to keep this up for days to regain the amount of energy she'd given up.

Ambrose blinked, glanced at Lin. "This? It's nothing but a summoning spell." He said, confused. He didn't think he'd been hiding anything. It was just...another spell that he used on occassion.

Lin looked at Ambrose in surprise once more. "A summon spell? But I didn't even see your lips move to say the incantation. Did... did you just think the spell? Because if you did, that is awfully powerful, Ambrose. Most teachers even have to verbally say the incantation to spells in order for them to work."

Lazareth let out a roar of rage, shooting straight up in the air so the fire only grazed him. "This is ridiculous." He muttered. He was too damned old to be playing tag with a baby dragon.

A bit embarassed, Ambrose scratched the back of his head. "Well, it was so close, that's all. If it had been far away, I'd have had to say something. It's not really anything special. You could do it, probably." He said, shrugging.
