((pushes Ambrose and Lin together and locks the door))
Ialo picked that moment to charge forward at Daisy (Lazareth) and Jill (Satan). He had the advantage. Satan was riding Lazareth, but Ialo was the faster and younger of the two dragons. Ialo would win, in that regard. Danni would be taking on Satan of course. He didn't think he could help her there. Nothing he could so could even match that. Hell, Danni was his student, but she was stronger than him.
He was proud of her. Granted, it didn't take much to be stronger than him, at least in the psychological department. But he couldn't be bother to think about that right now.

Lin quickly nodded her head and swallowed the water in her mouth before speaking.
"I most certainly can. Headmistress Krause at Bai Ching is the best headmaster anyone could ever ask for. Yes, I know I am biased, but she is fair to everyone and she is so smart and emotionally-mature. She looks after all of her students and still manages to remain calm and centered. She is one of the best people that I know."

"Oh, Jesus..." It seemed an apt statement, seeing as at the moment she'd need to help of every holy diety known to man to make it through this.
With a shout and a rebel yell, she yanked her now-glowing white Sword out of its sheath, wielding it with both hands high above her head. The tip of the blade pointed towards the heavens, and a bolt of pure white lightning came down, striking the tip. Immediately her whole body pulsed with pure white energy, making her glow with power. And she felt giddy with it. Oh, she'd win, she thought. They'd win.

"As you wish. But then, as I recall, your school is open only to girls, correct? It seems to me it would take a different type of personality to successfully run a co-ed school." He pointed out, sipping his own water.

Lin froze for a moment in thought. She hadn't thought of that. How would Headmistress Krause react if she had boys to take care of as well?
She looked at Ambrose with wide eyes and then she smiled softly. She liked it when someone could challenge her intellectually and make her think of things in a different way.
"Touche, Ambrose. That is a very good point you have made and I am impressed. However, even you must admit that Headmaster Enlil is very unstable right now and someone else would probably be better suited to take over as Headmaster for the time being."

Athena's voice rose in pitch and volume, her eyes actually rolling back in her head as she chanted, and the glow began to become more intense. She seemed to be in another world, from another world. The air began to crackle as she put her energy into her alchemy.
She was using alchemy to change the magic that hung around everywhere.
Combining her natural magics with her alchemy, she worked at it, transforming the dark magic that seemed to infiltrate the area into white magic, and it was exhausting--but that didn't matter. What did matter, what did make a difference, was that it was working. Athena was successfully changing dark magic to light magic through alchemy.
It was a breakthrough in her experiments.

Ambrose smiled, lifted his chin slightly in acknowlegement of the compliment. A bit restless, he got up, only to settle again, leaning against the arm of a chair.
"Ah, there I'm afraid I'm a bit biased as well, lovely Lin. It's hard to find fault with the man who's putting everything he has into helping my baby sister. In other circumstances, though, I may just have agreed with you." He said with an accepting shrug.

"Athena's the frigging s**t. Remind me to make her a frigging tub of pasta back home." Danni muttered, and they seemed to be suddenly close enough that she could see the whites of Lazareth's eyes, the black pupils of the devil himself. And in those eyes, she saw her fate.

Lin blushed slightly at Ambrose's sweet nickname for her. It meant something different now that she knew of his true feelings for her. However, it wasn't necessarily a bad new feeling. Just different.
She slowly got up from the chair and practically danced over to Ambrose. She wanted to do something and was getting antsy.
She rested her hands on his shoulders and looked at him with a bright smile on her face. "I did not know he was helping your sister. That is truly nice of him, I will give him that."
"But enough of all this talk! We should go do something! It is a beautiful day outside and we remain cooped up in here. There is something wrong with that, dear Ambrose."
She smirked softly and playfully at him when she used her own nickname for him.

Ambrose's heart skipped a beat when she called him 'dear Ambrose', and he smiled, taking her hand. "You're right. Take a walk with me, lovely Lin. We can take a walk through the flowers in the gardens. They're lovely this time of day." He said, drawing her towards the door, his eyes never leaving hers as his lips curved in tenderness.

Lin smiled brightly, her eyes truly sparkling, at Ambrose's suggestion. "Yes, let's! I have not been there since I returned and I miss them so. Professor Akakios and I teleported directly in front of your door when we returned so that I may speak with you. I would love to go to the gardens with you now."
Once they were outside in the gardens, Lin still had her hand in Ambrose's and thought nothing of it. It felt nice, right. It comforted her.
She smiled and exclaimed softly when she saw her favorite rose in the garden. "Oh my! The rose is still here!"
With her hand still in Ambrose's, she leaned forward slightly and her eyes began to glow a soft blue as she concentrated on speaking with the rose telepathically.
When she was done, she turned to Ambrose and laughed softly. "She is doing very well! She missed me, but she is glad to see that I have recuperated and returned."

Ambrose smiled down at her, then blinked when something caught his eye. With a small chuckle, he reached out, took a single blossom from a bit of lockspur growing.
"Do you know, lovely Lin, that in the language of the flowers, larkspur means beautiful spirit? You'd be the larkspur, I suppose, and I'd be..." He looked around, nodded slightly when he spotted the wisteria. "Wisteria. Steadfast is a word many would use. The larkspur and the wisteria bush..." He said, smiling at her.

Lin smiled brightly and clasped Ambrose's hand, the one that wasn't holding a flower, lightly. "You know the different types of flowers as well as their meaning! I am very impressed Ambrose!"
She looked at the wisteria Ambrose had noticed and she picked a small bloom of it as well. "You will have a bloom of larkspur and I will have a bloom of wisteria. That way, we will always be with each other, no matter what!"
She smiled sweetly up at him.

He started to take the petal, but when she smiled up at him, something inside him broke, just a little, snapped, just a bit, and his hands went instead to her shoulder, his head lowering just a bit.
"If I were to kiss you here, in the garden, lovely Lin, would you run from me?" He asked, his eyes probing hers for the answer.
