Corrupt Eternal CybelePick a side, said the General, threatening to slap her, or to kill her, as if that was of any concern of all to her after everything she'd endured. Do what you must, said the Princess, still speaking of the invasion that Cybele could barely remember, of the beacon of light that she'd been. Cybele turned from Megrez to face the General, wiping the tears from her face with the back of her hand. "I've served you," she said, her voice low and flat again. "I killed a senshi for you today. I watched her starseed shatter when it hit the pavement." That comment was meant for the others, too, the ones who kept offering her salvation. It was a reminder that she was Macbeth at the end of the story, hands red, heart black, the unsalvageable shell of a hero. Yet she stayed where she was, in between the two lines, even at the call to retreat. More tears came up unbidden, a disobedience that was outside of her control. There was no stopping the heat in her face. There was no stopping the thoughts, not now, not with memories in her head and Ganymede standing over her shoulder. The Corrupt vanished before she could start trembling. [Exit]

Corrupted TaeniteTaenite was almost disappointed that it was time for a retreat, but he thought he could hear the sound of sirens in the distance and knew they really only had maybe fifteen minutes tops for the whole operation. With how things played out as quickly as they did, he thought it was an impressive feat to have so many starseeds from enemy forces and their large cache of civilians and White Moon energy.
Still near the exits with Cymophane, he could hear his communicator when his friend mentioned looking for Faustite. Again it was lucky that Cymophane seemed to have the same idea that he did -- there was no way they could search the building on foot and still evacuate.
“They don’t look too happy to see us,” he said to Cymophane as the General disappeared and left the Squire and Eternal Senshi for them to handle. Still, he smiled and lifted a hand to wave at them. As long as they weren’t rushing in to attack, they could definitely stall until someone came to get them.
“Oh, this is nice,” Taenite said regarding the pleasant sound of music. “I should start carrying around an instrument. Maybe we could play duets. Wait, is this supposed to be magic? Oh! Play ‘Freebird’!” he called to the Squire. Was he purposefully being obnoxious? Or was he really, really into Skynyrd? The world may never know.

Paradise, Page of Cosmos“Don’t work yourself too hard,” Paradise said with a concerned frown when the young man explained that his type of education caused the sleeplessness. “Studies show that sleep, learning, and memory are all connected, so you’re doing yourself a disservice if you don’t make sure you take time to rest.”
However, she was thrilled to hear he spoke with his mother.
“Oh, that’s wonderful. Make sure to give her a hug the next time you see her,” she insisted, but then looked around when it seemed as though others were leaving. “I think your group is leaving now. But make sure you drink plenty of water and take a nap,” she said with a small wave goodbye.
She was sure that Ganymede thought they would be in danger after the young, lost looking woman shot magic in Ganymede and Megrez’s direction, but they mostly just wanted to talk. They were probably all quite lonely and just needed to sit down and rest for a bit.

Corrupt Sailor CymophaneCymophane kept smiling. It was kind of his thing. Smile and nod and let people think he was a bit of an airhead. He waved as Jet disappeared, eyes on the Squire (Pendour) and the Eternal Senshi (Takamizawa) left behind.
Shame Jet didn’t take her starseed.
Ah, well. Guess that meant Cymophane could take it instead.
If he could get passed that Eternal. Cymophane felt okay about his chances, even at his low rank, especially with Taenite’s fire at his side.
The music was a nice touch.
“What does the magic do, I wonder,” Cymophane said to Taenite.
Something was happening, he just couldn’t figure out what. He was already a calm, relaxed sort of person. If anything, he became a little less interested in trying to take their starseeds, but was that the magic, or the knowledge that they should be leaving soon anyway?
“Don’t worry, Squire,” he said, chipper as always. “We’ll be on our way momentarily. Oh!” He seemed to shake himself back to awareness, speaking into his communicator again to relay Jet’s message to Kamacite. “Don’t worry, boo, Jet’s found Faustite.”--- General AquamarineOn it, Aquamarine replied to Jet, stepping away from the edge of the roof, letting Benitoite and the Princess fall out of view.
If Benitoite stuck around and got his a** handed to him, that was on him. If he stuck around and did shady s**t, well… that Corrupt Senshi with the blinding light was still around to drag his a** back to Negaspace. (By the hair, if Aquamarine remembered their battle in the forest correctly. A part of Aquamarine would almost love to see it.)
He teleported from the rooftop back to the Farnsworth building, where he found two more Corrupt Senshi (Cymophane and Taenite) facing down but not fighting a Squire (Pendour) and an Eternal (Takamizawa).
“It’s your lucky day,” he announced. “We don’t have time for you.”
Then Aquamarine sneered at the two Corrupt Senshi and grabbed hold of them both, muttering, “Can’t even have the decency to be fully dressed.”
Got your pretty little blond thing and his friend, he thought to Jet. If I don't see you in ten seconds, I'm coming back for you.
Without another word spoken aloud, Aquamarine teleported the three of them out of there.--- Seconds before disappearing, Cymophane managed another wave and a merry, “See you around!” for the Squire and the Eternal.
Then they were gone.[EXIT for Aqua, Cymo, and Tae.]

General ArsenopyriteHe took the time to blink again. "Right. I'll make sure to do that." He said, nodding and feeling the lack of sleep again. After this he was going to take a nap in the castle and see if his healing powers didn't speed up the recovery from lack of sleep. At least he was pretty sure she wouldn't be hitting her with that broom again. It was then that Beni caught up with him and he nodded to him. "I'm going to get some sleep. No problems with the Page." He said, turning to her and giving her a wave. He turned back to Beni. "I'm going to need more information later." He said before teleporting away and hoping that the bed in his laboratory would be comfortable enough for a days worth of sleep at least.

Lt. EveiteShe didn't protest when Scheelite picked her up. It's not as though she could walk on her own anyway. And soon enough they had been teleported away and she could see if they could find a doctor of sorts and check if she had just twisted her ankle or if it was worse. She hoped it was the former. She would also be taking notes on her part of the encounter. While she didn't interact much with the others, it was still an interesting experience, especially with the Youma. Eveite exit

Capt. ChambersiteThe call had gone out and he had gotten no replies. It was time to go. And teleported himself out of there, not caring at this point if there was anyone else who needed help. He was done with his part. Chambersite exit

Princess GanymedeGanymede allowed Benitoite his chance to talk since he seemed to like doing so, lingering longer than was probably necessary, unless he thought she might be biding her time and meant to keep an eye on her.
Mostly, Ganymede wanted to follow Cybele, but couldn’t. She was gone in the blink of an eye, her tear-stained face etched in Ganymede’s memory.
The other General (Arsenopyrite) left, too, and the one lurking somewhere out of sight (Aquamarine). Then it was only Benitoite and the other Corrupt Senshi (Kamacite) there — neither enough to pose a threat against a Princess with an Eternal (Megrez) at her side. Somehow, the new Page (Paradise) was still standing without a scratch on her.
“Au revoir, Benitoite,” Ganymede said. “Give my regards to Laurelite.”

Epilogue Hell had erupted in and around the Farnsworth. Benitoite, Epsilon and Faustite had sent civilians scurring out of the building, into the hands of Cymophane and Taenite, who guided them down certain alleyways. Chambersite followed up by sending youma after these unwitting folks. Officers like Cafetite, Nambulite, Turquoise and Cora finished the meticulous chain by draining these dead-ended civilians, or starseeding them.
But the operation was seen by Order. Some picked up on it by their own proximity, and others joined via Ganymede's distress signal.
From there, the operation unraveled steadily, due to the combined efforts of Order. Pendour and Takamizawa had teamed up, and Pendour's steadfast pacifist negotiations inspired officers to stall and reexamine their loyalties. She and the Eternal saved at least one civilian, with many more going harm-free due to her effects on enemy agents. Her efforts were stalled, however, by Jet, and negotiations ended at Taenite and Cymophane.
Ganymede, Megrez, Paradise, Puck, and Sumner handled enemy agents in their own ways, with Ganymede's aura drawing the glory-thirsters from their orders, and Sumner engaging youma and officers alike. Paradise distracted with her selfless calm, and Megrez confronted one of the Negaverse's most recent acquisitions. Puck went after the operation's lead General, and spread word of an ambush. Together they each stole attention away from the operation's standing orders. Puck's assistance altered the course of the operation, slanting it in Order's favor. Makhaon, Sadachbia, Fomalhaut and Varda owed their unsuspecting lives to his interference.
As officers grew more distracted, youma grew more susceptible to enemy tactics, and Oberon and Perdita capitalized on this. The pair, after a scuffle with a Negaverse Eternal, turned their efforts to corralling the youma around the Farnsworth. What youma weren't corralled were instead smashed by Caliban, a later arrival who fought on behalf of those fleeing the scene. Their efforts saved the lives of many a civilian, who would live to remember this day.
But Chaos had fought for the successes it earned. It was thanks to Chambersite, Cymophane and Taenite that so much energy had been drained, and their adherence to orders allowed the operation to flourish. Eveite and Epsilon erased all footage from the Farnsworth cameras, and jammed enough cell phones to forestall the fire department. Kamacite, Jet, and Aquamarine each succeeded in taking starseeds from the enemy. Cybele proved her mettle time and again in staunchly defending the perimeter, then engaging a more powerful enemy at the front lines. Benitoite and Arsenopyrite were backup to further this stalemate. It was thanks to all these efforts, and Kamacite's well-placed call for retreat, that the Negaverse absconded with a wealth of energy and starseeds.
Those who weren't engaged on the frontlines were busy cleaning up the last of the operation. Mirzam and Cleeia had assisted Miyamoto in the capture of a White Moon senshi. Scheelite evacuated Eveite and other officers at the behest of Kamacite's orders. Jet recovered the lead General.
Most had begun their escape, and now the wail of the Fire Department sirens blared over standstill traffic. Reluctantly, cars began to drive up onto the sidewalks to allow for the fire trucks to arrive. Behind them came EMS, and behind them came the police. Soon, the streets around the Farnsworth were a profusion of flashing lights. Any left inside the building alive were soon brought out by the department and given over to EMS.
Any who stayed would then face the police, who had encountered anarchy like this too many times to show any mercy.Quote: Thanks, everyone, for participating! This ORP would not have been as much of a resounding success were it not for each one of you, and all the effort you poured into bringing the scene to life! I hope you enjoyed writing in this ORP as much as I did, and that your characters get all kinds of fun plot followup from Operation Firepit. If you have any questions, or want to pursue more plots, please DM/PM me! For now, please consider this epilogue as a prompt for your characters to evacuate the scene if they haven't already! Much love to you all! heart

Eternal Corrupted KamaciteKamacite waited, holding tightly to his communicator pen as he waited for any response from Cymophane. And once it came through, he let out a breath of relief. Faustite had been found, which meant they would be reconvenining in Negaspace. Kamacite hoped there weren’t too many injuries involved, and that the little squid youma would make a fast recovery in the Rift.
Kamacite Exit General JetJet knelt down by the crumpled General and tugged off his own cape. Faustite was part youma, and with the fire dwindling but still there, he didn’t want to risk burning his own hands if the General was too hot to the touch.
He didn’t know how to comfort the other. He couldn’t see any major injuries, but if something was broken, then Jet didn’t want to aggravate anything. He could see the blackened hand, which could very well be blood, but that was about it. Carefully, so as not to smother the fire that clearly was part of the half-youma’s body, Jet used his cape as a temporary shield to protect his arms as he placed one around Faustite’s shoulders and the other under his legs to lift him up.
Heading to the infirmary, he thought to Aquamarine, hopefully before the earrings were out of range, and teleported.

DMS Varda She could now hear sirens in the distance and the building was starting to show smoke coming out of the top of it. No need to stay here any longer! She looked back at the three Senshi. "Looks like we all need to get out of here. I'm sure that EMS can take care of the rest of it." That and she was starting to feel fewer Chaos auras. It appeared that they were retreating as well. "I know we're not exactly friends or anything, but if you want we can talk about it sometime later?" She said but without waiting for their answer hopped onto the nearest, shortest, building and started to make her way away from the area. She did not need to be caught up in this mess, whatever it was. It was something that she would have to talk to other DMS about though. They couldn't stay ignorant of such an event. [Varda exit]

Eternal CalibanWithout having to do much it appeared that the auras of Chaos were starting to disappear and that the civilian "help" had finally started to arrive. They were done here. He had only been here for a little while, but at least he had taken down a couple of Youma, even if one was by accident. They needed to go though unless they wanted the media to blame them for such a mess. "We need to get going. I'm sure the Princess is fine. We shouldn't stay though." And with that he jumped onto the nearest building and took a look around before powering down so that he could get away from the area as a civilian, blending in rather than standing out. [Caliban exit]---------------------------------------------------- Squire SumnerHe didn't get to react quickly as it seemed the situation was calming down. As much as it could at least. It would still be crazy as a civilian in the area, but it appeared that the Negaverse was done attacking for now. He sighed, finally steady on his feet and no longer feeling sick to his stomach. "I have to agree. As much as I would like to stay and make sure, I think that it would only be a burden." And they would stand out too much. Perhaps not Perdita and Oberon, but definitely himself. He looked way too out of place. "It was nice to meet you two." He said before making his own way away from the scene. [Sumner exit]

Eternal TakamizawaWhen she started to play her music Kami felt himself starting to calm down and eventually the rage that he had felt faded and was replaced with... relaxation? He didn't mind it, but it felt weird considering the situation they were in. Still, it appeared that the Squire was well enough to stand on her own, so the Eternal let go of her. Then the Corrupts were gone and Kami could only sigh. "Come on Pendour, we need to get out of here. The rest can be handled by the civilian emergency services, but it won't be good if they find us here." He said, and then jumped onto the nearest rooftop and waited for the Squire to follow him before he continued on away from the area. Whatever this was, it wasn't good, and they definitely hadn't been prepared for it. The Negaverse had targeted the building, most likely for it's location as it made it harder for people to get out of there. They would have to talk about it later, but not today. [Kami exit]

Corrupt Super Miyamoito Laughing Miyamoto crossed his arms over his chest, eyeing Pavo up and down. "A prize huh? To be honest I don't care which of us hauls you in. We all helped and for me the prize is just seeing you brought in - by who doesn't matter. The fact I got to attack you and see you captured is all I need. I know what I've done tonight." And Wolframite would as well, he'd tell him so the other knew he was progressing and not a waste.
Now his attention turned towards his fellow corrupts. "Whoever wants to bring her in can. I don't know if you can teleport or not. I'm not entierly sure on who can and who cannot do it." He was still new to things, including teleporting. The fact he could do it was still amazing, something which he didn't voice aloud for others to hear, but why could normal senshi and knights not do it? It was benefical and it was amazing.
"Are either one of you able to bring her in or do I need to?" There was no attitude behind his words, just a genuine question, he didn't know much on teleporting - not as much as he needed to know. It hadn't been something he'd asked Wolframite about yet, he would soon though.
