The toad glared (as much as a toad could) at both Danni and Athena. That was it. Ialo was done with women. No more women for a long, long time.
And now, as much as he wanted to be done with this school, he couldn't be. Now that Setsuka had returned, and she wanted the Fountain... Now, it was Ialo's job to defend it.
At least he still had a little bit of magic for group telepathy. His mental voice was unusually cold, and echoed liked there were one or two others speaking with him.
'If you think this is a game, it's not. If you knew even HALF of what's going on, your lives would be changed forever too. I have to finish this before it gets out of hand. I will die for it all.'

Athena sobered up and she stared solemnly at the toad in front of her. He was right; she didn't know what was going on. But she would. Soon, she would. "Ialo... Tell us. If you're going to fight, let me help, please!" She didn't know how much help she would be, but she just knew that she could help, and she wanted to. "Please!"

"I ... Ialo." Koy whimpered not enjoying the emotion behind Ialo's voice. but the gentleness in her voice was soon replaced with the confidence of Kai and her entire body turned back to that of the normal Kai, silver armor and all. "Damn it Ialo we're in for hell and back, don't worry you'll have your moment, even if it means an all out war on the school grounds."

Ialo slowly looked from Athena to Kai. It was still obvious he was upset, and not just from being turned into a toad.
'NO! This is the last thing I want.' It seemed he was calmer than before - no more bloodlust. 'No more fighting at the school. No more students, kids, having to go in as soldiers. None of that. No more.'
'... I don't want them to be like me.'

Kai blinked realizing he had the perfect plan to avoid an all out conflict on school grounds. "Well ... then I guess we have to hold it on a true battlefield," He smirked looking around the basement , "and I just so happen to know where one is ... although I'll need a little less then a day to prepare it." He said pulling the metal gauntlets on his hands tighter. "Would the spirit plains be an acceptable place? "

Athena glared at him. "You don't have to make me, Ialo. I'm going willingly. I..." She took a deep breath. "...I still have the Dust. I can make more, too. Not much more, because it's so difficult in the first place, but I can get more."

The toad rolled over in Danni's palm, croaking in a manner that sounded suspiciously like groaning.
'No, no! No Dust. Athena, you're just a student. I'm not going to LEt you - OR Danni - fight. I'm just going to make it impossible for Setsuka to get the Fountain.'

Athena growled at Ialo, markings flashing. "Then let us help! If there's going to be no fighting, why can we not help? Tell me!" She didn't care what he thought. In the end, she would do whatever it was that she wanted to do. Adolf would help her.

"You want to know why you can't help? You really want to know? The fact that you would even ask to help says nothing more than 'I don't know what I'm up against!'"
As was his custom, nobody really seemed to notice when he melded into the group; just as always, coming and going in secret only to make his opinion known.
"Setsuka is a major problem for all of you, a problem that can't be faced. She'll tear the guttiwuts right out of each and every one of your little bellies. If I wasn't in the condition I am then you may have had a chance should I have chosen to aid you, but the fact is right now, you're all in very deep s**t."

'Thank you for those enlightening comments, Riser.' Except this time, Ialo was partially sincere. On his own, he would have never been able to convince Danni and Athena to stand down. When Riser said you were in deep s**t... Well, you were in deep s**t.
About that time, the toad backflipped off Danni's palm and Ialo turned back into himself. He cracked his neck and his jaw. "That was uncomfortable... Don't do that again, Danni."
Whether he was aware of it or not though, he was significantly calmer.
"Last time I was here, the only reason I lived was because I had the luck to be dealing with Riser instead at that time."

That ethereal limb of his shot outwards and grasped Ialo by the top of the head, lifting him off the ground to eye level with the Fallen.
"I'm sorry, what was that? You lived because I needed you to live, had you not been that lucky you would have ended up like your friend Kai there, eviscerated and your tattered corpse thrown into the wind. But I don't believe you're quite as resilient as a Silverwing, even in the face of another gruesome death that b*****d returned."
"Now..." he muttered, dropping Ialo back to the floor. "What exactly should be done in a situation such as this..."

Well, Riser was right. She didn't know what the hell was going to happen. That didn't stop Athena. She was too reckless--she wanted to help, to fight. She hated being useless. But... she wouldn't dare backtalk to someone who could do such things to Ialo. Ialo was her headmaster, and he was stronger (probably) than she was. If this guy could do that stuff to him, then she didn't want to know what he could do to her. She was reckless, but she wasn't stupid.
Usually.

Ialo winced, but didn't dare complain again in front of Riser. After all, he was right. Ialo was only here today because of luck, not because of strength.
He stared down at the floor after he was set back down. "She knows where it is," he said quietly. "So we either move the Fountain, or... destroy it."

James walked down one of the more deserted halls of the school, one of the few sounds, other than his footsteps was the sound of the bottom of his scythe scraping against the ground. Normally, he left the weapon in his room, but with some of the things the spirits had been telling him about what was going on it seemed better that he carry the weapon with him, rather than risk running into someone that preferred he didn't see them... unarmed anyway.
The passageway wasn't very well lit, but the pale light that did illuminate the hall reflected off the silver scythe, onto the ground ahead of him. His sketchbook was tucked under his arm as he walked, more out of habit than out of an actual desire to draw anything. If he saw something interesting he might take a seat and sketch it for a while though. Otherwise he'd keep moving and he might sketch something from memory when he got back to his room.
Several balls of light, of various colors, circled around the scythe, the only ones that were visible of all the ones that followed him constantly. When he'd first gotten to he school the sheer number of the voices had almost driven him insane. But after some time he'd learned to sort of... tune them out. Sure that seemed a little cruel to him at times, but to be honest the spirits sort of... scared him from time to time. He attracted all ghosts, not the ones on movies that you saw that only attracted good spirits and all that.
He attracted the good, the bad, the evil... everything. Most of the time they were invisible, no one but him able to see the shear number of 'balls of light' that followed him on a constant basis. He was completely lost in thought as he walked, just following the passage....

Though Ialo was considerably calmer, it was the exact opposite for Danni. She had no idea how someone could've had so much anger inside them. It had seemed to positively flow out of Ialo, and she'd done her best to pull it out of him. And now that it was, she didn't quite know what to do with it.
It was rushing through her veins through her head, clouding her mind, making her hands clench into fists. But for the one and only time in her life, she was about to thank her power control class teacher.
She found an empty spot deep, deep inside her, and she filled it with everything she'd taken from Ialo. Slow, even breaths had her eyes darkening with anger and effort, and when she could finally see through the red haze that had clouded her vision, she met her gaze with Ialo's.
"I won't ask to help you. I'm not stupid enough to give you the chance to refuse me anything, so I won't ask. But you just try and stop me from helping you anyway, damn it. Give me the perfect reason to kick your middle-aged a** for even considering for a second that you could leave me behind while you go off and risk your neck. If me being a student-your student-bothers you, then I'll drop out. Which is something I'll be doing shortly anyway." She continued as an afterthought, then bit her tongue, ordering herself to keep a hold of that temper. She'd let it out, all that anger she'd brought inside her, on some poor b*****d of a demon the moment she came across one that suited her purposes.
