The Beacon of Hope for Everyone~ Hikari ~ So it's not a confession of love or anything, Hikari thought. On one hand she felt relief but on the other she felt a tiny sense of loss. She pushed those thoughts aside for the moment however. He wants to apologize to me? If that's the case... I can't turn it down... She reached up and hooked the clasp of the hairpin into her golden tresses of hair. "There. I accepted it so you can't be upset with me... Which doesn't mean that I've forgiven you all the way yet." She looked away, her cheeks burning still. "But it means that I'll try to be friends with you again."My Song is a Shining Light

"Kari..." More emotion creeped into his voice than Aaron would have liked and he blushed, clearing his throat. "I mean, let's get going, okay? I'm sure there's a few things you'd like to see and we don't have much time." He led her down the ladder, down the stairs to the main floor of the house. They ended up in the very same hallway Miko currently was in and he let Hikari explore a bit by herself.

~*Rinna*~ "Ahh... that was refreshing..." Rinna said to herself, stepping out of the shower and changing into a clean set of clothing. "I can't believe how dirty I was from all that walking... eh...?" She paused upon hearing some commotion from outside of the bathroom. She frowned, wondering if it was the Church coming to call upon that favor she had offered before. The young girl flung the door open and stepped out. "Hellooo?" She called. She heard more voices and proceeded to go down the stairs until she ran into a couple of people at the bottom of the staircase. "What the...?" She stormed outside where she saw a couple of people with Teru blood in them. One happened to be carrying a sickly looking girl. Another was a minty-haired girl who seemed to be lost in thought. "Who the heck are you people!?" She asked incredulously.

Nereus "Hmm, it's a symbol me, Hikari, and Aaron made that symbolized our friendship." Nereus then widen his eyes on what he said since he gave that sentence little to no thought at all. "Sorry, I just blurted it out." he said in a laughable tone. He stood up and began pushing the swing as he said. "You know something, I think when you ask me that I was so focus in the carving, and my mind just reacted with me really thinking. Thanks."

The start up was taking longer than usual. Ishira couldn't see a thing and when he tried to move he couldn't tell if he was getting anywhere, "What's going on? Maybe Snow's custom dive pods are faulty after all," Ishira sighed."The system is not faulty," Bewitching appeared from nowehere and was eerily visible in this darkness, "The hostess is just busy trying to trace a viral code that was allowed to enter the tower through her," she held a finger to her bottom lip and smiled deviously, "I am making it a little too difficult for her to reverse the feed I put into effect for the virus I found during that convenient little proxy dive," she giggled."You let the virus into the tower?" Ishira's voice was barely audible in disbelief, "That's crazy! Why would Rhaplanca do that? It's her job to project the tower, right?!" Ishira was irritated. Was Bewitching joking?"Silly boy," she scoffed, "It's not a question of what Rhaplanca duties are here. I, as well as other personas here are representations of Rhaplanca's feelings. I am one of the lowest levels of consciousness," she brushed her fingers through her ebony locks and toss them over her shoulders, "Therefore it serves correct that for what ever the reason, on my level, Rhaplanca wanted this to happen. And because I rule one of the lowest levels and therefore a stronger emotion, Rhaplanca has a harder time interfering with my decisions.""But Rhaplanca... she's the life-giver... why would she attack the very tower she is supposed to uphold?" Ishira whispered defeated.Bewitching's face fell emotionless, "So you do know our purpose. This could pose quite a threat to my power rank. I must purge you."An electrical shock coursed through Ishira's body. Every muscle locked up and seized with pain, "Aarrrgh!" he cried out, "Stop! What are you doing?" The shock let up and he fell to the ground on the verge of passing out. Oh man, gotta stay with it. Can't... die..."I don't want to be left all alone! I want to live a free life. Just leave me alone. Die already!" She sent another shockwave through Ishira's body, causing him to cry out again. Ishira's breathing was shallow, it took all he could to fend off his dimming eyesight. Suddenly there was a flash of red and steel and the sound of a sword clashing something hard."Selfish brat," Kunochi Samurai was sword locked with Bewitching's staff, "Don't count out my influence just yet," she reprimanded and shoved Bewitching back then fell back into a defensive stance, drawing another sword.Bewitching stumbled back but quickly recovered and brandished her staff, "Surely you do not hope to beat me, I still outrank you after all," her voice was laced with irritation."You outrank me in our goals, but you lost the upper hand here the second you attacked Ishira. Our will is for him to survive and thus, I can intervene," she glanced back to Ishira, "Not out cold? Gotta hand it to you, you sure can take a hit. I got it from here," she said as she launched into Bewitching with a flurry of strikes.Bewitching was caught off guard. Kunoichi Samurai's attack sent her staff flying into the darkness. She glared at her attacker, "Very well. Do what you will. I can't stop you since neither of us preside over this level. However, it appears my folly has not compromised my rank. The virus will continue into stream into Ar Tonelico until it is cut off from my level," she gloated with a smug grin and disappeared."Is that so?" reflected Kunoichi Samurai. Silently, she sheathed her swords and knelt by Ishira. She called out to a sprite, "Akeno," a tiny blue magic appeared."How can I help? Oh my let me patch you up, yup yup!" She said as the sound of oriental bells chimed and shower of golden sparkles dusted Ishira. Blue Magic Accquired: Akeno's Prayer

Ishira immediately felt his strength return, "Thank you," he said as he rose to his feet, "But I don't understand, why did you help me? The first time I met you, you made it clear that you did not want me here," Ishira was baffled."I was certain that because you started diving was the reason Bewitching power shifted above me. Meeting you inevitably strengthened her desire to be free from the chains of her burden.""You mean being the next life-giver?""Yes. Bewitching is the manifestation of rejecting that burden. Whereas I am the manifestation of accepting it," she explained, "I must apologize for my previous error in judgement. Please keep diving when you can to reach Bewitching's level and put an end to the viral stream. I will do what I can from my own level. Now let me re-route you to the appropriate coordinates for this level, Hyahh!" A flash illuminated the darkness and the world came into view, "This is the best I can do," she said as a silent and stagnant world emerged, "There is one more favor I must ask of you," she paused, "Maybe now that you know her secret you could encourage her to be brave enough to carry it out? I know that it will be tough for you to eventually separate from her after everything but please, for the sake of the world and the Goddess, you must," a forlorn look cast over her face. Ishira's heart dropped, "I-I know that it must be done, and I will support her to the best of my ability, always," he admitted."Thank you," a sad smile touched her lips, "I shall take my leave now. Good luck, I will be waiting for you," and with that she vanished.

Mana~
The elder half-ling twin nodded at his response. "It's a good thing we came here then," she said, standing and clapping her friend on the back. "It's just a shame the little Missy doesn't remember you quite yet. I think she'll come around though. Ya just gotta give it some time and space." She winked at him before sitting back down in the swing and turning her eyes back to the scenery. "So you guys grew up here." Mana's expression changed to reveal a more solemn look on her face. "Ya know, I gotta admit... I'm kinda jealous..." She rocked the swing back and forth, closing her eyes and enjoying the gentle breeze as it flew by. "I wonder how it must have been growing up in a normal family?" She chuckled humorlessly. So... This really was Hikari's home. Aaron and Hikari are siblings after all... Mana had to admit she suspected it. And she had a feeling that Miko did too from how she saw her sister looking at them both. However, she wasn't going to say anything. Obviously Aaron wanted to keep it a secret for some reason or another and Mana wasn't going to push it. It simply wasn't her place, and she was sure that, knowing Aaron, there was a good reason.

Miko~
Noticing the Reyvateil and the blond human near her, she called Aaron over. Miko pointed to the picture hanging on the wall. "I'm just wondering... would this be wrong to assume... that those little ones are you and your sister?" She asked with an almost impish smile. "You both were adorable little kids." It was meant to lightly tease him, but as soon as the words left her mouth, she wondered if she should have said anything.

The Beacon of Hope for Everyone~ Hikari ~ "Aaron's family? Really?" Hikari asked with wide eyes. She excitedly rushed over to where Miko was. "Let me see!" She looked up and was met with the stares of four happy people. A beautiful white-blonde woman with crystalline eyes, a handsome rugged man with golden hair and piercing blue ones, and two golden-haired children, a boy and a girl holding each other close and laughing.
Without thinking, she reached forward and touched her fingertips to the portrait feeling strangely drawn to it.
A tear rolled down her cheek. Followed by another. And another. And suddenly they were streaming down. "Wha... what...?" She lifted her hand to wipe the tears away but more came. "I don't understand... Why do these tears keep falling...?" Another unsuccessful attempt at trying wipe the tears away and she choked on a sob. "I don't get it... why?" Her hands went to cover her face and for reasons that she couldn't understand she wept.My Song is a Shining Light

Gannon…
Gannon entered the house and went looking for the nearest bed so the Reyvateil could rest. Soon, he found the room he was looking for and gently set her down on the bed. Her fever's still pretty high. I better get Miko... He left the room and headed in the direction of the other voices. As he grew closer, he heard Miko say something about a family portrait. He entered the hallway where the others were in time to see Hikari reach out and touch the picture. He froze. Time seemed to stretch forever. Would she make the connection? If she did, what would happen? He glanced at Aaron before walking toward her and laying a comforting hand on her shoulder.

She felt a hand on her shoulder and looked up, ashamed that she was making such a spectacle of herself for seemingly no reason. "They... they just won't stop." She tried wiping them away again. "It's the funniest thing..." She laughed, but it came out like a sob. "I'm sorry that you have to deal with me like this, you guys..." She sniffled, finally managing to get a hold of herself. She shook her head. "For some reason, I just felt so sad, but I don't understand why..." She looked up at Gannon with teary eyes and smiled. "It's so silly, but I'm okay, I promise."My Song is a Shining Light

Upon watching his sister, Aaron could do nothing but watch helplessly as she cried bitterly over a memory that wasn't even a memory anymore. Did I do the right thing? He wondered briefly. But Hikari hadn't relapsed; she hadn't even come close. She simply cried. Gannon had approached then and put a hand on her shoulder. Aaron had a feeling from his glare that they would be having more words but at the moment he didn't care. "You don't have to apologize, Kari," he said gently. He noticed that Gannon had already put Mia to bed. "Is everything okay?" He asked the Teru.

When Hikari started to cry, something clicked, and the visions started flowing through her mind. Oh, no... A single tear dropped down her cheek before she brushed it away and looked at Aaron once more. She'd seen what had happened through Aaron's eyes, she was certain of it, and she realized just who Hikari was. She bit her lip and stayed silent even as the Teru approached them. When Aaron asked the Teru if everything was okay, she turned her attention to Gannon.

Nel was pulled out of her reverie when a rather demanding young girl started shouting at them all. "Oh, please, don't mind us! We're going to be going soon. The church gave us permission to drop off a little sick girl here. Then we'll be going on our way and out of your hair." She bowed politely to the girl in front of her. "Please forgive the intrusion."

~*Rinna*~ She cocked her head to the side, studying Nel for a few moments before replying. "Say, you guys wouldn't happen to know your way around this area would you? I'm looking for some good strong guides to show me around and..." She snapped her fingers. "It was a tough decision, but... you're hired!" She spun around and did a little dance. "You can be my escort and take me where I need to go!" Rinna inwardly cheered at her own confidence. I'll make my sister Reyvateils proud! She thought. I really know how to get the civilians down here to do my bidding! She thought with a snicker.
