Also, If someone became a fan of metallica when they listened to load, ReLoad, or St. Anger.

actually, I only listen to metallica up to ...And Justice for all.
After that they kinda sucked. I mean they bassically sold their souls to the mainstream audiance to sell more albums.

a TRUE fan likes all of their work (but he agrees that and justice for all was the best album ever, dyers eve to be specific

well, say they actually do think those are the best songs by metallica... i mean it's pretty narrow minded of them but yes, it would be their opinion thus making it a false accusation of being a poser. But, only a real fan would be able to tell me who their first bassist was, the name of their ep and what lars was doing before he formed Metallica with james.

second of all, dyers eve is by far not their best song, but everyone has an opinion like i mentioned before.

On one hand, I agree. On the other... who is any one person to say who is a poser, and who a fan? I mean, where is the line? Your points are excellent ones, yes- and I'm glad for it. However, are they fair points? Should there be more points of basis? Would the majority of true fans agree? Who knows?

again, that's your opinion. I think Ride The Lightning is the best album. and you have to think, Metallica is one of the biggest names in metal, and guitar hero came out like 14 years after Black Album. so.... i wouldn't say guitar hero or rockband popularized those songs. maybe to the new age, but not those who were over 14 at the time of the games production..

I feel that St. Anger isn't as good MAINLY because of the influence Bob Rock had on Metallica when they were producing the album but then again he also produced The Black Album... though he did compose the guitar / bass riffs for the album St. Anger.

here is what changed metallica's style, first they lose Cliff A.K.A god, then some dumb s**t named jason joins them, and he can't even play cliff's stuff because it is to beastly for his mediocre bass ability.
in conclusion it proves that metallica did not sell their soul for the mainstream, they just lost cliff and replaced him with a worthless loser, thus losing their backbone

Personally I loved 'Tallica's work on St.Anger especially Invisible Kid And St.Anger, true they aren't the best they have ever done but why take away from something good only because the previous was better??

Pointless exercise in my opinion, take it for what you will. I freakin' loved Cliffs Bass on Pulling Teeth from kill em' all. Just goes to show bassist's can solo aswell.

I can't say which is my favourite becuase I would truly be lying if I Implied that there was only one. I have near enough 3 favorites form each Album and that includes Garage Inc. which was Rocking might I add (Whiskey In the Jar Still Gets me every time).

Seen them live last year on their Death magnetic tour and I honestly can say No other can compare to the experience.

Cliff may be gone but so is Jason and Rob Is doing a damn fine job on the bass, thats about it really. Hoping to catch em' again next time round in London.
