The Story

Me, being a scientist as I am, am fascinated by the vast majority of this world. My curiosity and wonde runfortunately drove me unto the heights of creating Hyde, though that is a astory for another time.

I had heard of the things called "Sea monkies" who were an off-branch of brine shrimp it seemed, as they were dried for hundreds of years and their lives could be renewed by merely adding water.

Literally

I bought several packets of the specimens and started to test them, in every which way, to see how they could be restored so easily. Until it finally occurred to me, though it was a sad, sad thing that the wonderous creatures only lived for several dies, and some often didn't hatch. So I then started to create remedies to ehance the lives of these small sea monkies, and make them live longer and grow a tad larger.

Alas, my being so wrapped up in my studies I forgot that certain side affects may happen.

Once I had several potions and concoctions created, I began to test them and alter the mixes to better fit my purpose. Until finally I had a final creation, this I took and dripped three drops into the water of three seamonkies that were only eggs...

Nothing happened for several days until -finally- they hatched, which seemed to take longer than normal, and... Oddly they looked normal so I added a few more drops-- to my faults.

The next day the three specimens were by far larger than any other I had ever seen and were growing strange differences and distinguishing markings. Knowing all of my experiments gone haywire, I nearly cancelled it, though the ever dominant Mr.Hyde finally got me to swift my veiws.

Some days I do not know of what I should think of the brute.

The seamonkies start as packets and I, er, add my special 'potion' and they grew to full sized eggs around the size of a large pebble. They then evolved into strange finned creatures who seemed to have telepathic abilities (i.e. talking telepathically, floating a bit off the ground, moving things with their minds etc.) As they grew they evolved and became larger and larger...

I was soon exasperated wiht their constant growth, so I brought two of my closer aquaintances( a.q.u.a.i.n.t.a.n.c.e.s. I'm not with any of them all my friends are girls *cough*), who goe by the names Azurai and Lenta, to my labs and showed them the odd creatures. The two being women, one of the few things I am positive I never even have a breath understanding off, becamed attached each to one of the monkies. It seemed they shared a strange bond, as I had with a peculiar smaller monkey who seemed rather... Sanity deprived and macabre.

Which was quite to my liking.

The three of us decided we shall grow the seamonkies larger and use them as pets, it seemed a good idea and as far as I can guess- it might still be.

Egg:

Here is the first stage of your Sea-monkey, it is a egg with delicate fin-like attachments on the back. You must keep your egg submerge din water almost constantly, to keep it's health. othrwise Jekyll will bug you forever.
OOC: You're monkey will stay at this stage for a week, more or less based off activeness. Then they will hatch.
IC: Still you're sea-monkey cannot comunicate in anyway, though what you do. (I.E. Talking to it.) Will highly affect their turn-out.

Child:

Finally! You're sea-monkey has hatched into a small poodle-sized creature.
OOC: Now you're monkey will stay like this for two or so weeks, it highly depends.
IC: Now you're child has very minimal talking abilities. And they have to spend atleast 18 hours submerged in water. they mainly communicate telepathically at this stage, and phsyically with chirps and small gutural sounds.

Adult:

Now you're monkey has completely matured and can stay in or out of water for any ammount of time.
OOC: Here is the last stage, or so it seems, for your sea-monkey.
IC: now they can talk perfectly through telepathic abilities and made word-like sounds with their mouthes.

Other...?:

There is an unknown stage that no sea-monkey has yet reached...
OOC: It is said if you rp a lot and are an active member that this stage is possible...
IC: So far nothing else is known.

Sea Monkey Information:

Sea-Monkeys® are a true miracle of nature. They exist in suspended animation inside their tiny eggs for many years. The waters of these areas are often so salty that Artemia may be the only non-microscopic animal inhabiting them.

Are they Brine Shrimp?
Because fish eat and thrive on brine shrimp, for years they were collected as eggs or alive, to be sold as an aquarium "food." Although all along, brine shrimp had the very qualities that would, at a later date, make them one of the most desirable pets ever sold, it simply never "dawned" on anyone to consider them as anything other "fish food". Now, thanks to
Sea-Monkeys, this attitude has changed.

Although Sea-Monkeys are a species of brine shrimp, they are unique. Raffles:

free- You get your first ticket free, and then you may buy more for 300 gold each. Unlimited.

paid- Tickets for the paid raffles are 150 gold each, and there is a limit to 10 per person.

Hiyas, I'm Azurai, and I am the Director of Hatcheries here at the Sea Monkey Aquarium ((or as Jek puts it, Drunk Sailor who...?))...well, if you don't know, what it means is that I often will check up on the Sea Monkeys, make sure there's nothing wrong, give them medication or simply just tell you when I think the little guys will hatch and grow. Jek over there is the one who supplies the packets and does a bunch of...weird tests. *Shakes head* Lenta and I have learned not to ask. Though I do think those two are a bit infatuated with eachother...*Coughs*

Oh, and if you need to find me, I'm the one with blue...wait, no, red hair and a clipboard who keeps walking around and looking at aquariums.
