September 25 -- To celebrate the Cein Isles being open for 1000 pages, this week we'll be having a Post-Page-1000 Party! X3 Everyone is invited... bring your Taurs and roleplay! There'll be an avatar contest, a raffle, a newbie flatsale, and whatever else I think of! So come and join the fun! ^_^

September 24 -- I would like to thank EVERYONE who applied for the colorist positions... I had many more applications than I thought I would have, and making a decision was difficult. o__o;; In the end, I have chosen C.y.n. and DeMoNtAiNtEd... congratulations you two, and welcome to the Isles!! And just so y'all know, I'll be away this weekend. So no growings or updates from the 16th - 18th. Thankee-sai, long days and pleasant nights...

September 7 -- I just wanted to apologize for taking so long to get growings done. I have a full-time job and hobbies away from Gaia, so I try to work as many growings into my schedule as possible. I appreciate everyone being patient with me. ^_^

That said, I should mention a new policy: those who are active in RP, or even just chatting in the shop thread, will have their Taurs grow sooner than others who are not around. I feel that this is a good way to reward people who are active. Believe me, I do understand if you just don't have time to be active! I will never take your Taur away from you, and RP is still not required. This is just a bit of an incentive to be around, and it'll also help me parse out the growings.

Some Taurs will be growing to TEENS soon! XD And more customs are on the way! Thank you all for helping me have so much fun with this shop!

August 28 -- The RP flatsale is complete... congrats to ChibiPoet, Makokun, and Juunara! Everyone who participated will have priority for custom slots, which should be opening within the next couple days, and they will receive 5k from the cost of a custom.

August 25 --
Announcement:
This Saturday, 8/27, at 3 pm PST, there will be an RP-prompt event! Three Taurs will be featured (not giving away the tribes yet!) -- two children and one teen.

At 3 pm I will provide two different prompts, and what you'll need to do is write an in-character answer or narrative, basically creating a personality for one of the three Taurs presented. The window for submitting RP prompts is WIDE, meaning that this will stretch until sometime late Saturday evening in order to give many people a chance to participate.

Winners will be announced Sunday morning or early afternoon.

You may participate in the contest if you currently own a Taur.

More guidelines will be posted on the day of the event, if necessary.

August 21 -- There are lots of new Taurs coming in from customs and pet trades... I'm also planning for an RP-prompt sale sometime in the near future! Hopefully within the next week or so. ALSOOO... there will be a free page 500 Taur given out to one lucky person who posts on page 500! (This Taur will be pre-made, NOT a custom.)

August 10 -- I'm looking at this coming Sunday, August 14th, as the day for our first RP event. This is open to all current guardians, as well as those who are ASPIRING guardians. If you do NOT have a Taur yet, please PM Cein-Isles with information about your Gaia character. Tell me how you arrived at the Isles and which tribe(s) of Taurs you have been interacting with. Please be sure to read the front page info so that you know something about the world.

August 7 -- Congrats to Caitlyn Hellcloud for becoming the new Guardian to our lost lion Taur! ^_^ Also, the first group of Centaurs to go out into the world are beginning to reach the child stage. AAAAND.... there may be a Roleplay event soon, so keep your eyes open!

July 26 -- Congrats to Orasteele, Foalen, ...Lizzy Cat..., Suboshi-sama, Britain, and Rimedragona for adopting Centaurs from the flatsale tonight! The turnout was much more than I expected... thank you all for hanging around the thread and participating.

July 24 -- The Scavenger Hunt went well, thank you to everyone who stopped in to play. Perri Indiya was the winner with a whopping 168 points, and she will receive her choice of custom! All points earned will be convered to raffle tickets, and the raffle will be Monday night at 8 pm. The winner will receive a custom as well! See you then!

July 22nd -- The first Flatsale date will be Tuesday, 7/26, at 8 pm Gaia time!

..: Centaurs :..
Centaurs are the most common tribe, and by far the friendliest when it comes to contact with the outside world. They aren't as fearful as many of the other Taur species, and as such they're more likely to interact with humans. Centaurs are often playful and clever beings. They form close bonds with their tribemates and will often delight in telling stories, playing games, or going out in hunting packs. The social aspect of their lives is very important to most Centaurs.

A Centaur's Views on the other Taur Races:

Cervitaur -- Yeah, we get along okay... they're our cousins, after all! And they sure can fight! They just need to loosen up once in a while.

Wolftaur -- Ruthless in battle. A lot of them are okay, but watch out for the ones who go rogue... they don't care about anyone except themselves.

Foxtaur -- Sneaky bastards! They'll steal your best necklace AND your girlfriend. Don't turn your back on 'em!

Cattaur -- Well I guess I'd be beautiful too, if I got to lounge around in the sun and lick myself all day. ~_~

Unitaur -- Legend says we Centaurs descended from the Unitaurs. Legend also says they're extinct now, but I'm not so sure I believe that. If they're still out there, they must be the strongest of us all.

..: Cervitaurs :..
Cervitaurs are reclusive yet noble creatures. They often fancy themselves as great warriors or guardians, and many are well-deserving of that rank -- the vast majority of Cevitaurs are trained from childhood to be fearsome opponents. Their culture is one of honor, and they try to reflect that in all that they do. A Cervitaur who uses his or her abilities for wickedness is stripped of rank and exiled from the tribe. Cervitaurs go through an extensive rite of passage from teen to adult, which often involves claiming a certain area (or maybe even a certain person) as their responsibility to guard and maintain.

A Cervitaur's Views on the other Taur Races:

Centaur -- Our flighty breathren, they serve an important role in the Great Balance. We should watch over and protect them.

Wolftaur -- When they are not scrapping amongst themselves for power, they make fearsome warriors and trusted allies.

Foxtaur -- It is said they serve a purpose, and this might be so. However, it is also said that a thief may have honor, and this is questionable.

Cattaur -- Though they value beauty and grace more than they should, there is wisdom in their silence, and magic runs in their veins.

Unitaur -- Our most noble ancestors. If only we could all be as majestic as they.

..: Wolftaurs :..
Wolftaurs are Taurs who like action, and competition seems to burn in their blood. Like a true wolf pack, Wolftaurs' tribes are closely-knit... but a squabble amongst the Wolfen can lead to pack dishevel and even death, given the right circumstances. A young Wolftaur may decide that his Elder has been head of the pack for long enough, and a challenge for leadership will ensue. In the best case, the upstart youngster will be defeated or the Elder will succomb to the younger's abilities, and retreat to live out his days in a place of honor among the tribe. In the worst case, one power-hungry Wolfen may kill another.
The pack aside, Wolftaurs usually seem a bit standoffish to other Taurs at first, but once they loosen up, they make excellent companions and are always eager to have a good time.

A Wolftaur's Views on the other Taur Races:

Centaur -- Why do they like the humans so much? That's weak! They're going to get us all in trouble. ...they know some pretty good jokes and stories, though.

Cervitaur -- Pretty boring, till one of 'em challenges you to a fight. Be careful, they know what they're doing.

Foxtaur -- They can slip in and out of shadows in the blink of an eye! And even though it seems like they OUGHT to be more like us, they're not really. They're strange.

Cattaur -- I don't care how good at magic they are, they're still lazy bastards!

Unitaur -- Eh, I'VE never seen one. I bet they're just legend.

..: Foxtaurs :..

Mischief, secrets, and seduction are the three rules of the trade for the Foxes. They're at their best when they're plotting... though unlike the Centaurs, a Foxtaur's tricks are less likely to be harmless and more likely to get someone in serious trouble. It's not that the Tribe doesn't take anyone seriously -- they value secrets as highly as the Cervitaurs value honor -- but they are a cautious bunch, and earning respect from them is no laughing matter. The Tribe tends to be reclusive, though some young Foxen have been known to bond with humans out of sheer curiosity.
Foxtaurs tend to encourage art and music among their kin. They may be difficult to trust, but they do produce many things of beauty in their chaos.

A Foxtaur's Views on the other Taur Races:

Centaur -- Of all the other Tribes, the Centaur have the best sense of humor. Second to us, of course.

Cervitaur -- Bah, to hear them talk and prance around with their noses in the air, you'd think they fancy themselves the kings of the isles! *snort*

Wolftaur -- I can weave my words around them in a circle and they'll always get confused. Good to have on your side when a storm blows up, though.

Cattaur -- Delicious secrets, and such lovely creatures. They are an enigma.

Unitaur -- Well, I heard the most interesting rumor regarding the Unitaurs the other day. I can share it with you... for a price.

..: Cattaurs :..

Magic pulses through the veins of all members of the feline tribe, and magic tinges every aspect of their lives. Most other species would say that the Cattaurs are a lazy and irresponsible lot, as most of the Cats spend their days lounging around and looking pretty. However, what few other tribes bother to learn is that the Cattaurs spend all that time resting to gain insight and strength to cast their magic. They are generally a peaceable lot and do not favor fighting... especially among their own ranks. They also have great wisdom and talent to share with the other tribes, but their aloof natures create a barrier between the Cats and the rest of the Taurs.
Many may also harbor jealousy toward the Cattaurs, as their magic is much more potent than that of any other species (except the Unitaurs, who are extremely rare anyway).

A Cattaur's Views on the other Taur Races:

Centaur -- The youngest of us all, and the silliest. They alone have the strongest ties to the human race. Will their naiveity save or damn us?

Cervitaur -- Arrogant, perhaps... but their nobility is to be commended.

Wolftaur -- They are headstrong fools who lack any sort of spiritual path. Throw them a bloody bone and watch them chew each other to pieces over it.

Foxtaur -- The fox sees the wisdom in the stars and shadows, but he runs from it always. What a pity...

Unitaur -- They reside on the edge of dreams, awaiting their time to return. I have seen them in my sleep!

..: Unitaurs :..

Half man, half unicorn, the legendary Unitaurs are considered by most to be nothing more than that -- legend. Up and coming young Taurs have never seen a Unitaur in the flesh, though rumors abound of their godlike presences and powers. Whether such stories are true or false remain to be seen.
...Unknown to the other Taur tribes, Unitaurs do exist... though they have kept themselves purposefully blocked from the outside world for centuries. Their magic is not as shamanistic as that of the Cattaurs; they reside close enough to the fount of Cein Isles' power that they do not have to rest nearly as frequently as the Cats to regain their strength. They are the Elders, patient, enigmatic, and infalliably wise, and their reappearance in Cein will change the course of the Taurs' history...


A Unitaur's Views on the other Taur Races:

Centaur -- Our children, they are pure of spirit. We wait for one of them to call us from our watchfulness.

Cervitaur -- Great struggles and sadness await them, though we have faith that they will persevere.

Wolftaur -- Their bodies are strong, but are their hearts? Time will tell.

Foxtaur -- They laugh at others, yet they fear to face their own souls.

Cattaur -- The cat with its eyes closed is not always sleeping.

1. Flatsales will begin when I say "GO." Do NOT post until you see the GO! You won't miss it, it'll be big, I promise.
2. When posting for a Taur, you MUST include the number of the baby in question... such as "male #3." If I don't know which one you want, you're not gonna get one!
3. No fighting, flaming, intimidating, or otherwise being obnoxious. I will blacklist joo.
4. In most cases, Flatsales will be for people who do not yet own a Taur.
5. Taurs are typically 3k, unless they are RARE... in which case, the price will be specified. Trades are due within 24 hours of winning.
6. If you win a flatsale, please PM me with the name for your baby Taur!

I WILL accept items as payment at mid-Lucky Devil price, but not Gaia event items (such as Halloween 04, Christmas, Easter, etc).

Please note that I can do small alterations to the lineart, but I'm not doing major lineart changes at this time (no cosplays, for example).
