Personality

Cat is a very Independent young woman, yet she loves having other people around. She adjusts well, easily gets used to new places and people. She's also Blunt and occasionally saying and doing things without thinking. This may result in hurting other people without intending to.
Cat tends to get bored easily unless it involves Art (Then she's the most patient person ALIVE). She's carefree of nature but will get serious when she's at school or work, as she takes her responsibilities seriously. Cat has an open mind and she likes trying out new things (unless it's against her principles).


Biography

Catherine was born to the Bells' - 2nd child out of 2. Since childhood, nothing lacked in her life. She wasn't always an easy daughter to cope with, unlike her perfect older sister, but she always respected her parents and (sometimes) did what she was told to. She was always surrounded by friends and treasured them all. None of them was closer to her than the others, except Jesse - who was her boyfriend, when she was 18, for a few months... Until she found out he was cheating on her. She never bonded with any guy since then... Or has she?

Despite being such a free spirit, Cat did fairly well at school, especially on Art related Classes. It's been her biggest passion since forever, and after graduating, and trying to apply for a few Art Schools, she got accepted to a famous one in Japan. She couldn't decline this opportunity and took a 2-month Japanese Class before she took off to her new adventure.

That happened a year ago. Cat is now on her 2nd year at the Art School, working part-time as an Artist at a small Japanese App. Company. She rents a small apartment with a roomie, another student, but of Economics - a sweet 21-years old Girl named Kana. The 2 couldn't be more different; Kana's not a big fan of Fantasy or Video Games and is actually pretty shy regarding meeting new people, but the 2 get along pretty well. They even go out with their circle of friends regularly, most are students from all kinds of branches.

As a big Video Games fan, Cat decided she has to try out this new Sword Art Online game everyone was talking about, see for herself what's the fuss about. Honestly? It exceeded all of her expectations. Sadly enough only 2 hours into the game everyone got the terrible news regarding being stuck inside it and the possibility of dying in real life. As it turned out she didn't take it hard as most people due to her carefree nature. Even more so after meeting a certain guy she started to grow fond of...

At the outskirts of Town of Origins a pretty young woman in Newbie Clothes made her way to a certain guy. He wasn't a real person, though, she was aware of that. It's not the first time Cat faces an NPC, or plays a game of this sort, for that matter. Far from it. Apart from the potential dying in real life part, that was new. Can't say the GM announcement didn't affect her, but she didn't take it as hard as many other players. Not too long after hearing the bitter truth of this game, Catherine embraced it, as she did all obstacles in her life, outside of Aincard. She knew all too well letting it get under her skin will give the worst possible results. She's familiar with this kind of world, and as long as she'll watch her HP Bar closely, there shouldn't be a problem.


Finally, Cat arrived at the location where Austin was, the guy who gave her the mission. She successfully defeated 5 Bouncing Turnips and was just about to turn her quest in. "Did you miss me?" She amusingly asked, as she often did to keep herself entertained. "You came back." The guy stated the obvious, a hopeful look on his face. "Did you do it?" He asked, as a text window appeared right out of thin air right in front of Cat's. 'Complete' She clicked on the button at the bottom of the window, and the guy's face beamed. "You did! I can't thank you enough! Here's a penny for your trouble." He replied, and just as he finished talking, a magical sound was heard; Woosh!


Catherine leveled up as a glowing light surrounded her body for 1.5 seconds. "Ah, experience much needed! Thank you." She gratefully accepted his gift of exp. points as well as extra 30 Cor to her Inventory. "I can finally walk to Horunka Village, now that the threat is gone. Gratitude." She heard the guy again, as he started walking away from there and in the direction of one of the city's gates. "Yeah, you do that." She smiled as she kept watching him only for a while longer. "It wouldn't work out between us anyway." She amusingly said to no one in particular and decided to look around one more time before doing another quest she activated earlier. Who knows? She might discover a new Shop or another mission.

It didn't take Cat too long to spot a suspicious piece of paper nailed to a nearby wall. As a constant gamer in this kind of game, she liked to explore every corner available, talk to every NPC, check out closely every small detail that caught her eye. Her instincts served her right, as the notice granted her another quest; This time she was to slay 10 Puffy Ducks and report to an NPC supposedly not too far from where the mobs are. At least according to her map. Luckily for her, she already had another quest on, one she's to collect Duck Cottons from the exact same mob at. Cat checked out her inventory to see if she's stocked enough for the pair of missions.


"Hmm. That wouldn't even get me to the gate of the town." She joked, and decided to make a quick stop at the Market Merchant before heading out. She already came across the woman once, so she knew exactly where the seller was located. "Greetings! How may I be of service today?" The kind woman asked, and a list of available items appeared in a window before Cat. The young new-comer scrolled down the list with her finger and marked everything she wanted to purchase. She then sold some of her junk to the NPC to get some extra Cor for future use. After finishing her business, her Inventory consisted of 10 Small Potions, 4 Fruits, 6 Bottles of Water, 5 Loaves of Bread and 4 Bandages.


Cat then made her way to the small lake not too far from town, so she can complete her 2 quests of slaying and collecting. Only a while passes as the young woman finds herself at the grassy lakeside, a very different view from the gloomy grayish town. "Ah. Much better!" She announced as she took in the beautiful view of blue skies, wide trees, colorful flowers, and of course Puffy Ducks! Before starting to fight them, Catherine decided she'd like to try and practice the use of her sword in one hand, as she held it with both her hands up until now while fighting. She took it in her dominant hand and began slashing the air around her; Horizontally, vertically, diagonally, from up-down and vice versa. She spent quite a few minutes doing so, getting used to holding the sword in one hand only and slice nothing in particular.


Once she felt ready, the lass decided it's time to try it out on moving targets. She approached a duck slightly away from all the others and carefully held the sword in front of her body. The peaceful duck didn't notice her or rather ignored her presence. For now. Cat took advantage of that, as she lifted the blade just above the little bird's chest and took a minute to observe it's body and where everything's located. "Don't take it personally, Sweetie. Your friends will soon join you." She smiled as she spoke to the bird made of pixels. Once she processed the information, she swung the sword across the feathery creature's bust and could see it's HP Bar goes down a bit. The bird fought back, though, and managed to do the same to Cat, but after a 2-minute fight, it was defeated. Instead, there was now a small package on the ground for the victorious lass to grab. Using her sword with just one hand was tougher than she thought it'd be, but it only made her more excited, as it was bigger of a challenge.

Cat picked up the small digital box left on the ground after the first Duck was defeated. Hmm. 12 Cor and a Duck's Beak. You'd think THIS will be the item I'm after. What kind of Duck has a Cotton Fluff anyway?? She amusingly thought to herself as she prepared to fight another bird. The young woman got in position and locked her gaze on a specific mob. It was cleaning its body with its beak at the edge of the flock, but still rather close to them. After waiting for a few seconds, hoping it'll get a bit farther away from the rest of its friends (which didn't happen), she decided to charge in. Those things are only level 2 meaning they should be easier targets for new players, still. Hopefully, my theory's right and they're not as aggressive as more advanced mobs. Otherwise, I might be in trouble. She thought while smiling, and decided to try her luck.

As her sword first made contact with the bird's small body, hurting it, Cat was prepared to defend herself, in case the other Ducks'll decide to join the 'party'. Luckily for her, she was right, and the only monster fighting her now was the one Duck she attacked. It started fluttering its wings in order to fly, and as it charged at her to peck her in the face, she raised her free arm to protect herself. While it kept lowering her HP Bar 2 points at a time, she raised her armed arm in order to finish the job. The young woman swung her sword at the mob's chest and it too disappeared into thin air in a glowing shards spectacle, leaving another loot box behind. It was then Cat said mostly to herself: "Glad I chose quests involving such peaceful of a mob. It was the right call."

As the 1st duck was gone, Catherine leveled up with a sparkly aura. 'Level 3. Beautiful. At this rate, I'll be at Level 10 in no time!' The lass happily thought to herself and grabbed the box of goods lying on the ground. This time it DID contain the item she needed for the quest; '1 Down, 4 to go.' She then kept charging at the peaceful mobs for both slaying records and item collecting. Of course, she practiced the swinging of her sword before every battle and collected the loot after it. At this point, the young woman had no idea she's being watched.


Cat stood on a record of 6 out of 10 kills and 3 out of 5 Cotton Fluffs, and was about to attack the next bird, as she felt something touches her shoulder. Startled, she immediately spun around, ready to slash whichever monster that was! Luckily for what appears to be a person, she stopped half a second before her blade touched him. The red-haired guy backed away by a step, as the girl burst at him: "Are you CRAZY?! I could have KILLED you!!" The guy looked at her for a second and then smiled, giving her a thumb-up.





"Nah, I'm tough. You're not giving me enough credit." He said in reply, and she stared blankly at him for a bit, before smiling back at him and putting her sword back in its sheath. "Maybe it's YOU who doesn't give me enough credit." The girl replied. This time it was HIM who was caught off guard. Shortly after he smiled back at her and said: "Well-said. I've been wandering around these woods looking for someone to help me with something. After seeing you in action, I'd say you got the job! Congratulations!!"


After hearing him, Cat raised an eyebrow and asked: "You've been watching me?! That's not creepy at all." At that, the guy named Klein according to his username, got nervous as he raised both his hands before him, facing in her direction. "Yes. I mean - no. I mean-" He took a breath in and spoke again: "I needed to make sure you can handle it before asking for your help. I've tried it before with some other guy and it failed miserably." Cat looked at him with a frown on her face for a little while, until she could no longer hold her laughter in. "Don't get all defensive! I was kidding." She said, ready to hear his offer. "Well, what did you have in mind?"

"Here's the thing. There's this item I'm after. It can be found a few miles away in that direction."
Klein said as he pointed to a thicker part of the forest.
"And here I thought you were a big boy. You're not afraid to wander deeper into the woods on your own, are you?" Cat teasingly asked him.
"I'm glad you've noticed." The red-haired guy noted with a foxy smile on his face, "But no, that's not it. You see, there's this huge toad guarding it. It's stronger than regular monsters around these areas."
"It's hard not to." Cat replied to his remark, a flirty smile on her lips, as she stared right into his eyes. She obviously saw a man before her.

"So, what's so special about this item?" The lass then asked. He made her curious as he was willing to try so hard to get whatever that was.
"The name of the item is.. Bracers. Of Acorn. Bracers of Acorn." He looked away from her while saying that, leading her to think he might just say that to hit on her. That wouldn't be the first time. To be honest, she wouldn't mind if he did, he was her type. On the other hand, he could just forget what was the name of the item was. "It's said to.. Reflect some of the damage received back at the attacker. Pretty cool, right?" By the end of his little speech, he already looked back at her. "It does! Sounds like one could really benefit from this kind of arm guard! I might grab myself a pair too." Cat smiled back at him, getting all hyped. He put a hand at the back of his head and smiled nervously. "Umm.. From what I've heard, there's only one pair around these woods." Was he trying to spare her getting disappointed later on?

"Such a shame. Oh well, I'm sure I'll get something better as I level up." She smiled sweetly at him, as she continued talking, "You'll have to help me finish my quests first, tough. I can share them with you if you'd like." By the way she spoke and how she fought earlier, he couldn't help but smile at the fact she's probably more into Gaming than 98% of the girls he knew. He liked that in a woman. "Awesome. I'm all up for some warm-up before the real deal." He winked back at her and drew his sword, while she opened the Interaction menu and added him to her party as well as quests.

In less than 10 minutes the pair already finished both quests, slaying AND collecting, and made its way to the huge toad Klein talked about.

Before heading off the couple made sure to collect all the loot as well as refill their health bars with potions they both prepared beforehand. They were now going deeper into the woods, obviously enjoying each other's company. "Now that we're done roasting them ducks, I can finally ask: What was a girl like you doing in a place like this on her own?" The handsome guy accompanying Cat asked, a slight smile on his face. "You mean SAO or the Lake we were just at?" She confidently replied with a question of her own. "Both? I didn't come across many girls here, and those that I did seemed pretty helpless." Klein explained. "Are you sure you've been looking in the right places? I know plenty of girls who like MMORPGs and can take care of themselves." She started, "As for your other question, I guess no one's been proven worthy yet." Cat obviously teased him, and he grabbed the bait like a good obedient fish. "Well, your searching days are over, Baby. I'm your guy."

"Are you sure? Last I've checked you couldn't even take down one tiny toad! Can you really handle this??" With that said, she moved the back of her hand down the side of her body as if presenting forbidden goods. "You want to put it to the test?" The red-haired guy asked with another foxy smile, one she was starting to grow fond of. She giggled at his response, as her face suddenly hardened. She could feel someone's watching them, almost piercing her back with their stare.

"Klein." That's all she had to say. By the look he had on his face right now she could tell he felt that too. "Just act natural." Klein replied and put a hand on her back, leading her deeper into the woods and away from the source of whatever it was that followed them. He tilted his head back a bit at all times as if to make immediate eye contact in case that thing decided to show itself. Cat didn't like any of it, and wasn't completely sure going further into the forest at this time of day is the right call... But at least they were together, getting away from whatever it was. Or did they?

As the two kept walking, it didn't seem like they got further away from the potential threat. Just the opposite. It wasn't usual for the young woman to be worrying about something like this. If you think about it, she didn't really have a reason to stress out. They both were somewhat close to the Town of Beginnings and mobs around here shouldn't be too high of a level. If anything dangerous shows up she knows how to defend herself AND she had a safety net just in case - Klein - who seemed to be a skillful fighter as well as 1 level higher than her. What could happen..?

"So how long until we'll get to kick this Toad's arse?" Cat asked, trying to lighten the mood. "About 3 minutes, if not less." Klein replied to the girl's question, never letting his guard down for a second. She briefly raised her eyes to him. Seeing him taking this whole situation so seriously made her chuckle. "You're cute when you frown." She remarked soon as she looked back at the road ahead of them. That obviously worked, as he became less tense now. "Yeah, I get that a lot." He replied, teasing her. "Your girlfriend?" Cat asked with a poker-face expression. She didn't want him to see that could bother her. "Don't have one." Klein honestly replied, and then briefly smiled at her. "As of now." His answer made her happy, the second part even more so. "I'll keep that in mind." She teasingly replied.

Cat was about to speak again, as rustles were heard behind them and the two instinctively stood guard. Before they knew it - a hooded guy stood right in front of them. His name was iPanda, written in red letters right next to his 800HP green bar. "Ah it's just another player." The young woman was kinda relieved realizing it's not something too dangerous, not to mention the guy's funny name... It only lasted until Klein responded to her remark though. "Not another player." Klein said as he drew his sword and stood in a fighting stance. "Cat, stay behind me. That's a PKer." He quietly finished his explanation, making her toughen her face again. "A Player Killer?" She asked as she drew her sword as well. So the red name didn't indicate a mob being too high of a level. It meant this guy already killed other players, and might be going for them next. She honestly didn't know which of the options was worse. All Cat knew was she's not going to go down without a fight.

Never in her life Cat imagined she'll meet a player-killer face to face here in Aincrad, especially not so soon after the deadly announcement the GM had given! The red letters assembling their name confirmed to her they were the real deal. It was beyond her. What makes a person going after other people when they KNOW they're killing them in the real world too?! Unfortunately for the two, the character called iPanda was at Level 6; 2 Levels higher than Klein and 3 levels stronger than Cat. It's not much of a difference, right?

As the red-headed guy warned Cat regarding the situation and got all protective towards her, Cat could vaguely see the villain biting their lower lip. Could they be touched by Klein's reaction? Was it something else? The young woman didn't know what it means, but it was her chance trying to reason with the crazy person standing in front of them. "Why are you doing this??" She asked never understanding this kind of action. As the person stayed quiet in spite of her question, she tried again: "You do understand that by killing people here they're dying in the real world, right??" They must have a better reason than just 'for the fun of it', right?? The hooded character stayed silent as Klein's voice was heard once again: "You're wasting your breath, Cat. There's no reasoning with murderers."

That seemed to be the trigger the hooded person needed to charge at Klein with his drawn sword. The red-haired guy managed to dodge the sudden surprise attack, as well as most of the blows coming afterward. Of course, Cat didn't let Klein fight the guy on his own, but she wasn't able to lower much of his HP, despite direct-hitting him again and again. Her partner did his best to protect her; He WAS after all of a higher level than her, so he felt responsible for her well-being... But was that the only reason? Somehow the guy seemed more focused on hitting Klein. Was Cat too low of a level for him to even take her seriously? When the villain learned Klein was a better fighter than expected, they were 'forced' to activate this skill, suddenly making their attacks faster and more fatal. That gave the good guy a hard time, as he could barely dodge any of his attacks anymore, not to mention landing a blow of his own!

"A Beta-Tester?" Klein managed asking out loud in between somewhat failed attempts to avoid the swift sword of the already experienced killer. He never gave up for a second, as he kept all his focus on facing that person AND keeping Cat out of danger. "Cat, get out of here!" He was worried for her, but she had other plans. She had no intention of leaving him here to die. "Hey, dumb-s! I'm here too!" She proclaimed as she kept hitting the guy from the side. "It's because I'm a girl, right? You sexist pig!!" At that point she already knew that person's not gonna hurt her. Not until they'll be finished with Klein, at least. No way she's letting them having him, though! So she did the only 2 things she could: Trying to reduce their HP as well as using Healing Crystals to heal Klein's HP whenever his bar became of orange color. After a while, her Healing Crystals started to run out and she realized she needed a new strategy. It was up to her, as Klein was literally fighting for his life. He was a skillful fighter, but he couldn't beat a Beta-Tester 2 levels stronger than him. Not right now.

Cat couldn't just stand there watching that sweetheart of a guy be beaten to death! She quickly looked around them to see if there's something she could use to knock down, or at least delay, that villain from completing their goal. A small pack of round bunnies caught her eye, and she decided to use the aggro to get a head start. Quickly the young woman ran to them, hit 4 of them once, and as they started chasing her, she led them right to Klein's foe. Distracted, that person lost their cool and started hitting them, one after the other.

"We have to run." Cat whispered as she quickly helped Klein up from the ground and started leading him away. His HP bar was already in the red zone, and she used her last crystal to fix it. At that point, Klein didn't have any more crystals either. "You have to run," Klein said as soon as he regained his strength. "You have to get out of here," He added. She was about to respond, as they suddenly saw the deadly player blocking their escaping route. Cat quickly stood between the two guys, her arms spread to the side, as she looked straight at the face of the hooded person. "That's far enough." She said, "It's not funny anymore. You've had your fun. Now leave us alone." She was dead determined stopping them. When she saw the character biting their lip again, she could tell they didn't expect her to stay this long. This was her chance of trying to converse with them! "You do realize you're already responsible for the death of at least one person!" She HAD to make some sense into them.

"But I'll be saving another." They whispered, and Cat couldn't believe she heard right. "What did you say?" She asked, as Klein's face looked puzzled too. "Save?" They actually said they're going to kill the pair in order to save someone else?! How is that making sense?? "Don't sweat it. I'll finish this quick. Only missing 1 Skull." The character said nothing more as they've pushed Cat out of the way and charged at Klein, who fought back... But not good enough, as the hooded villain was more powerful in level, gear and game experience. Cat couldn't sit idle, of course. At first, she tried hitting them with her sword. "Get away from him!!" She demanded while Klein screamed at her; "Cat, get away from here!!" "I won't! Not without you," She replied stubbornly, and once she realized her sword's been barely doing any damage, she hugged the villain from behind, preventing him from keep attacking the poor guy. "I said: Leave him alone!! Go fight someone your own size!!" She demanded... Only for the killer to use some kind of paralyzing item on her.

The young woman was now unable to move, and could only watch and tremble as that person kept lowering Klein's health bar; From green, to orange and eventually red. She tried to scream, or move, or anything else that could help Klein get back to safety, but it was futile. The guy started to grow on her, and that was the very last thing she wanted to happen right now. Unfortunately for the pair she couldn't do ANYTHING and he gave it his all defending himself. Besides trying to survive, he knew that guy'll come after Cat next, he couldn't allow it. But maybe it was too late for them both?

After yesterday's harsh experience, Cat spent the night in a Tavern at the City of Begginings, where she and Klein turned in their quests last night and parted ways.
"So how long until we'll get to kick this Toad's arse?" Cat asked, trying to lighten the mood. "About 3 minutes, if not less." Klein replied to the girl's question, never letting his guard down for a second. She briefly raised her eyes to him. Seeing him taking this whole situation so seriously made her chuckle. "You're cute when you frown." She remarked soon as she looked back at the road ahead of them. That obviously worked, as he became less tense now. "Yeah, I get that a lot." He replied, teasing her. "Your girlfriend?" Cat asked with a poker-face expression. She didn't want him to see that could bother her. "Don't have any." Klein honestly replied, and then briefly smiled at her. "As of now." His answer made her happy, the second part even more so. "I'll keep that in mind." She teasingly replied.

After the shakey experience, where Cat and Klein almost lost their lives at and were saved by the unexpectedly strong little girl, there wasn't much talking. At least on Klein's part. The couple turned in their quests, gained an extra level each and then he accompanied her to the Inn's entrance. It was already getting late, and the two youngsters needed a place to spend the night at. "So, here we are." Klein said, looking away from Cat. "Yep, the Inn. The place where all drunk folks gather to hang out and cause mischief at." Cat replied with a smile, again trying to lighten the mood. Klein didn't reply, and her smile got smaller. "Are you sure you don't wanna sign up? Surely they got at least 2 spare rooms. At worst-case scenario, we could share one." She replied, serious this time. She was genuinely worried for him, regarding a place to sleep at AND the changing of mood after what happened in the woods. He finally turned to look at her, and after a short time replied: "I have to find my friends and make sure they're not doing anything stupid." Cat sighted and smiled unwillingly. She couldn't force him to do anything. "Fair enough. Thanks for the help today, Klein. Stay safe." With that she briefly kissed his cheek and entered the Inn.

There she saw lots of players filling the main hall, much more than she expected to. Cat approached the Inn Keeper only to find out they ran out of free rooms like 10 minutes ago. While trying to figure out this complication, she was approached by a man twice her age, called Harvey, inviting her to share his room. She suggested a bet instead; They'll play a game of Rock-Paper-Scissors. If he wins, she'll join him in his room. If she wins, the room's hers. Sadly for her, she lost the bet. She had a Plan B, though! Ordering drinks until he'll pass out and she'll have the room all to herself. By the time he'll regain his senses, she'll be long gone. Not a very nice act, but hey, He brought it on himself!

Once Cat entered the room and locked the door behind her, she un-equipped some of her Armor and got inside the bed. It took her about 5 seconds to fall asleep.

The next morning the young woman woke up all freshened up. She needed that rest after yesterday's craziness. While opening the menu to equip her Armor back, a notice came up; 2 Friend Requests. The first one was by Yuuki - the little girl who saved her life. Cat accepted of course, as she wrote her a small message of 'Thank You. : )' 2 Small words and a smiley which means so much. Cat didn't like the idea of a little girl already being exposed to something this terrible and crazy, but hey, She can already take better care of herself than 2 grown-ups. That's gotta count for something, right? The other Request was from Klein. That made her smile. She accepted his request and messaged him too: 'Morning! Wanna kick some Toad arse today??'

Normally she wouldn't 'text' guys after dates, that wasn't the kind of girl she is (And technically this wasn't a date), but she was still worried about him. After a few minutes, when there was no reply, she realized he probably took the whole incident harder than she did. Either that or he was too busy to answer. She didn't have much to do about it at this point. Her only acceptable option, for now, was keep getting stronger by killing mobs and completing quests. She left the room and made her way to the Main Hall, where she noticed Harvey just starting to wake up. She quickly remembered how she came to get the room and turned to leave the Inn from the other way, avoiding him. Her plan now was to restock her Inventory at a close shop and then proceed to the next town/village for stronger mobs and better quests.

A short while later Cat was already at the General Store not too far from the Inn she spent the night at. It was very early, as the streets were mostly empty. Luckily for her, it seemed the NPCs worked 24/7, at least in the Town of Beginnings. The young woman took the opportunity to get rid of unwanted and unneeded items as well as restocking her Inventory with new Healing Crystals and other helpful consumables. What happened yesterday emptied her Inventory dry. Not only that, she made up her mind to get stronger as much as possible so that she can protect herself and those she cares about.

After all, if something like that happened so early on, who's to say it wasn't going to happen again? She wanted to be ready for where and when it'll happen, in case it did. With that in mind, she came to one conclusion: She had to level up and get stronger as soon as possible. And what's a better way to do so, than making her way furthest possible? Stronger Mobs means more Experience Points, which leads to faster leveling up. That settled it. As she came out of the store, she opened the menu and looked at the world map for a while. After about 2 minutes of browsing through it, she decided to go to Tolbana Village to fight stronger foes.

About a half an hour later Cat was already on her way to that village. She didn't waste her time attacking low-leveled mobs anymore, but once she got to a field of Level 4-5 Bunnies, she started killing them for the Experience Points - one at a time. While doing so, she came to find a Cabin in the woods. In front of the small house stood an old man with a disturbed look on his face. As Cat approached him, he gave her a quest of defeating 20 Bunnies. According to him, the little pests cause damage to his Carrots Farm. In exchange, he's to give her some Cor as a prize. It was a win-win for her; She'll get both Experience AND Money by helping the NPC. That was the most beneficial thing for her to do right now, and that's what she did.

Cat took her time fighting them Bunnies. She knew every kill mattered and was so focused, she didn't even hear the small creature barking in the background, let along the guy watching her taking down those fluffs. Only when she heard him greeting her and offer to team up, she realized she wasn't alone in the field. Before accepting, she took a good look at his states. The guy was 2 levels higher than her, but it didn't make that much of a difference, right? She could also see his chosen username and HP Bar, but the most important part was - his name appeared in Green. Good news already. : )

"You're not wrong." She replied smiling, as her eyes finally caught the little pup to the young man's feet. "Ohh look at that little fellow! Who's a good boy??" She excitedly asked as she bent down to pet it's little head and cheeks. "That's right! You are! You are!!" She replied to her own question in a somewhat high-pitched tone. After a few seconds, she raised her face back to Shinryu and replied: "Sounds like a plan. Just give me a second, okay?" She quickly stood back up and walked towards the NPC to turn her quest in. A glow of light appeared as she leveled up thanks to that needed experience.

"There. Now we're almost at the same level and can manage at the same fight zones." She cheerfully told to the guy waiting patiently and without another delay, sent him a Party Request.

Cat listened to the red-headed's offer/request, and softly smiled. "Sounds like a plan. We wouldn't want anything to happen to-" She paused as she swiftly glanced at the Pup's name. "Zorro! That's cute! A very well-earned name." She chuckled. Now Cat knew she's in good company. Sure, Shin wasn't Klein, but at least she wasn't alone.

"It's settled then. First, we get Zorro here a few levels, and then we do the same. These Experience Points will be super helpful if we wanna get stronger ASAP." Cat said as she winked at both her new companions, "One question, though." Her face got serious now, as she got closer to the guy standing in front of her, "Are you stocked up?" She asked without saying another on the matter. She didn't want to worry this newcomer about too strong of a mobs, or worse - a PKer. What good will it do making him worry about such things so early on? Besides, it's always better to be prepared than getting caught with your pants down, right?

"It is." The young woman responded to Shinryu's question regarding Zorro's name. "It's good to have him around. I'm sure he'll be proven useful later on. You're lucky to have found him. " She smiled, and then replied to the part where the guy was talking about going mostly solo; "Looks like it doesn't have to be that way anymore. You got a partner now!" She winked and glanced over at the small pup.

As Shinryu revealed more to her, he managed to get her attention. If what he says is true, the skills in this game improve the more you use them, including passive ones. It must work that way on his Spear and Shield too, which he just equipped. That was the second the wires in Cat's mind connected. She's been looking for a way to better protect her closer companions and friends. Maybe a Shield is the answer! It might be a bit massive, but maybe it's not such a bad idea after all!

As the Cogs in Cat's head started to work, the guy continued talking and she kept listening to his insight (It's known women can do a few things simultaneously). No doubt about it, he knows a lot about this game, as does she, and they could really help each other on that matter. "It is hard collecting Cor around here. Best to save those up for further levels, so you won't waste your earning on useless Gear. Also, I assume some of the quests in Aincrad will reward us with all kinds of items, equipment included. It already happened to me once or twice so far. Will make it easier on our pocket." She paused, and then smiled, "Will be easier for us to earn money together, no question about it." 3nodding

At this point, the young woman equipped her sword and got ready to return to the battlefield, when Shin's question about the Switch Method stopped her. "I've heard about it, but never tried it before." She replied, a foxy smile on her face. Maybe if she wasn't busy flirting with Klein for 80% of the time, they'd both be experts by now... It was so worth it, though. "This looks like a good opportunity to try it out. What do you think?"
