Thanks to being in the WG, sometimes when I make avies, I start giving them personality quirks or backstories. At first, I figured I'd start writing down pertinent character info in my journal whenever I made one such outfit, but putting them there is a bit of an inconvenience, So, I thought I'd try making a test forum thread to collect them all instead~

I wonder how many will end up being virtually the same. HAH -shot-

[Long Post Thread!] For the times I used my OCs to make detailed/long replies in the WG!

Current

User Image User Image
- Idhensot Nguttol
- An embodiment of hedonism [one of many such demons]
- Created from the soul of a person obsessed with decadence and sold their soul to guarantee a life consumed by it.
- Has no connection to the memories of the soul that was used to make him; they're basically 2 different beings.
- Old, but doesn't know how old [grasp on human "time" is rusty at best]; maybe 2,000-3,000 years?
- Ironically enough, ace, though not totally opposed to the idea of sex. He just constantly forgets it's a thing on account of not having the innate desire.
- Irresponsible and flaky
- Chill and amicable disposition
___Very effective for tempting the humans.
- Can teleport to his home realm at will and reappear on Earth wherever he wants, though he can exhaust himself from doing it too frequently.
The process is too strenuous for a human to survive, which he found out the hard way.

Pre-Existing OCs

I have some OCs that began before I made them avies, and then later set about trying to make avies of them. These are the most likely to be recurring/returning avies.

Layne

User Image

- Layne Odel Lynn
- Early to mid 20s
- Vegetarian
- Straight
- Psychic [empathic, some precognitive visuals that he doesn't always realize is a precognitive thing until later, and he can see ghosts/many supernatural beings - powerful/particularly malevolent ones have been known to cause him to leak ectoplasm-y stuff from his nose]
- Didn't actually realize he had powers for quite some time after his abilities manifested.
- Works with friends investigating paranormal stuff; his best friend created the group
- Was a loser/weird kid who got bullied a lot
- Can sing and do harsh vocals quite well
- Prone to being lazy and selfish
- Albino; has terrible, terrible eyesight
- Likes bugs
- Pacifist
- Smokes when stressed
- Shy/reserved around people he doesn't know
- much more jovial around friends

Makar
User Image User Image
- Makarios Leroux
- mid 60s, but appears to be in 20s
- Pansexual
- Vampiric hybrid Drakaina [1/2]/Kappa[1/4]
- Can transform into a giant snake and many in between stages, but easily succumbs to instinct the closer he is to a full giant snake; prefers not to transform into it.
- Flirty
- lazy
- Has webbed feet
- Slight Cajun accent
- Bio: Began life humbly as a 'normal person' until an accident left him as a 'newborn' monster. His fiance died in the process, and he went on a long, destructive rampage. After some time, he came upon the site where he was changed by chance and hallucinated/saw his fiance who basically told him to be good so he could join her; this experience snapped him out his rampaging, and he went off into a swamp to lie low and begin atoning for his past misdeeds. Some traveling hunters mistook him for a different monster, but by the time the incident was over, he'd helped them out to clear his name and in the process got the attention of other dangerous creatures who essentially put a hit out on him. To protect himself, he caught up with the hunters and travels around with them. Lulzy squabbles ensue.

Bio
• Early Life
Rudy was born a werewolf into a family of werewolves [Mother, Father, Older Sister, 2 Older Brothers and soon to be followed by a younger brother and 2 younger sisters]. By the time he was born, his family was already using two languages - English and Esperanto, a constructed language his father discovered and decided to adopt when he learned the creator intended it to be a unifying, global language. They were nomadic, rarely staying in the same place for more than a few weeks at a time. He spent his early years [5-13] learning a variety of skills from the older members of his family - hunting, first aid, cooking, shelter building, sword fighting, and fiddle playing most notably. Occasionally, his family would meet up with other families and celebrate various holidays with lots of feasting, music, singing and dancing, and general merry-making.
His father was an idealist who envisioned a world where humans and werewolves were allies, and strove to encourage other werewolves to embrace this idea of unity for the good of the species. Both of his parents impressed upon all of their children the importance of peace, understanding and forgiveness. As such, Rudy's family never hunted humans, though he never understood why. One time, he went to the home of a fellow werewolf, whose parents did hunt humans, and tried human flesh for the first and last time. He casually told his father, who became furious and forbade his son from seeing that werewolf or their family unsupervised, much to Rudy's annoyed confusion. It wasn't until he was 13 that he realized why humans were to remain off the menu.

• Pivotal Change
The last location his family ever visited, they stayed a bit longer than usual, having been delayed for some reason or another. On the night they were finally ready to pack up and move to their next location, they were ambushed by werewolf hunters, who swiftly dealt all but Rudy fatal blows before the family could react. They left as quickly as they came, leaving a gravely injured Rudy to what they assumed would be die. They returned after a couple of days, checking the corpses, and discovered Rudy was still alive, frightened beyond belief and desperately clinging to life. The sight of him coupled with the whole scene of devastation they wrought disrupted their professional resolve, and they found themselves unable to finish him off. Instead, they took him in and did their best to nurse him back to health.
As he regained his strength, they explained their side of the story in misguided attempt to apologize. As it turned out, they'd received reports of a killer werewolf in the area and were sent to take care of it. They were a family as well, and the parents decided to bring their oldest son along for his first hunt, which they thought would be as average as they get. They happened upon Rudy's family first, and fearfully assumed they'd found a whole family of killer werewolves. Not wanting to lose the element of surprise and risk dying themselves, they seized their chance and shot first. They returned to the scene when the real killer werewolf attacked again, and it was only then, having found everyone where they had been originally brought down, the only one still alive too injured to be the culprit, that they realized their mistake.
Their explanations did little to cull forgiveness within the young werewolf, who took off once he was healed enough, and began his attempt to rebuild his life where it had been interrupted. He went back to his house and recovered his father's katana. After a brief moment of mourning, he went off to try to live on his own, which proved more difficult than he realized. He found out the hard way that his survival skills were nowhere near the level of his parents or older siblings and he struggled terribly to make it on his own. The final straw came when he had finally killed his first deer, only to have a bear claim the kill and savagely attack him when he tried to get it back. Dejected, he returned to the only place he felt he had left; back to the werewolf hunters.

• Adolescence
Still not over the guilt they felt for what they did to Rudy and his family, they readily welcomed him, though the transition was anything but smooth. Rudy was an emotional train wreck, plagued by frequent nightmares, panic attacks, and painfully longed for the one thing he could never have; his family. He spent a lot of his time moping in their large backyard while the parents tried to come up with a long term plan for him.
They decided in the meantime to figure out his academic progress, and at least bring him up to the level a human at his age would be. They also gave his family a proper burial, complete with individual headstones, a fence surrounding the graves and a sign that read "The Labree Graves." The parents' younger children [a daughter and 2 sons] initially regarded Rudy with varying degrees of curiosity, but quickly grew to accept him, enthusiastically sharing with him all of the music, video games, and tv that they knew. He, in turn, shared Esperanto with them, which they would switch to when they wanted to keep a secret from what Rudy would end up calling his "step-parents." He began to see similarities between his family and the hunters' family; how the concerns of his parents were parallel to the concerns of the hunters'.
The abrupt shift in his life caused much tension as he felt as if his 'step-family' was trying to stamp out who and what he was before he came into their lives. A notable example being when they wanted to change his surname to theirs. [After some quarreling, they compromised and he ended up with both]
They attempted to remedy this with help from a relative who studied werewolves rather than hunted them. With her help, they were eventually able to come to a somewhat steady balance that would see Rudy through his high school years. One issue bubbled in the background since the beginning: Rudy's 'step-parents' strongly discouraged him from shapeshifting into his more animalistic forms. They feared that the closer to a wolf he looked, the closer to a wolf his mind was. They pushed for him to look as human as possible as often as possible, for his own safety, lest he scare people and cause a panic. While he could understand the worry his natural appearance might cause, he still found it horribly unfair.
It finally came to a head when they tried to push him to go to college, think about what career he would pursue and what he was going to do with his life. During their last major blowout, he told them he wanted to live like he used to; how his parents tried to raise him. He reverted slightly to let his animal half show more [what he now calls his "Normal" look]. Again, he went out on his own, and though he fared somewhat better, something felt off - less enticing - about living 100% in the wild than it had before.

• Adulthood / Current
For the second time, Rudy returned to the werewolf hunters. He calmly rejected their attempts to get him to go to college, but did ask them for a favor: money to buy a house. He had to explain what he had in mind - a 'tiny house' that would be minimalistic and cost effective (read: cheap) that would serve to give him the things he'd grown accustomed to from living with them, in a compact, easily manageable size, for when he needed a break from the outdoors. Once they heard him out, they decided that they would help him under two conditions: 1) he gets a temporary job to cover half the cost and 2) if his idea of being a hunter/fur seller/mountain man fell through, then he'd agree to go to college and pursue a more conventional career. They shook on it and Rudy fulfilled his promise to earn half the cost as soon as he could.
As soon as the house he requested was finished, he invited his parents over to see what they helped him buy. Before they left, he sat them down and poignantly thanked them, not just for the money, but for taking him in, putting up with him, and taking care of his family like they did. He then did something he wasn't sure he'd ever have it in him to do; he forgave them, and told them so. They left on amicable terms after a solid bout of hugging, wishing Rudy the best.
    ------
Nowadays, Rudy spends his weekdays hunting typically small game; rabbits, raccoons, squirrels, etc, but sometimes larger things like deer or elk, and preparing their parts to be sold at a local flea market on the weekends. Free time is spent watching tv, surfing the internet a bit, or playing a small selection of video games. He still visits his 'step-family' or sometimes they come out to visit him. He also regularly tends to his family's graves, frequently leaving them flowers and keeping them in the loop with what he's been up to. Worried about grave robbers, he hired a witch to put an enchantment around the graves, hoping to deter unwanted trespassers.

- Unknown age [appears to be in 20s]
- Male
- Likes: Agent Scully [his Skulverine], sarcasm/deadpan humor, his sword, music [mostly on the [darker]/[edgier]/[heavier] end of the spectrum], solitude, nature documentaries
-Dislikes: Children, hyperactivity, things that are overly cutesy, most hugs/physical contact [will withstand a lot before he'll be bothered enough to do anything drastic, though], the righteous
- A demon without much of a purpose, he'll do odd jobs when he needs to, for a price [no, not your soul, geez, regular a** money. Preternatural abilities alone don't pay the bills]
- Doesn't fuss much over what side he's on.
- Prone to the occasional random act of kindness, but he's still not very sweet about it. [sometimes this bothers him, especially if he didn't get paid for it]
- Quiet/reserved. Most of what he thinks doesn't leave his head.
