::News::
01/05/11 --- Not much activity the past couple mths. Shop hiatus until I decide on what I want to do with the shop. If colorist do not wish to work here any more please PM me (Pandora Talie) so I can update.
08/24/10--- After Aug 31st any new RP that involve an Adahy going over to Di'Taki lands OR a Di'Taki going over to Adahy lands can result in a staff member bringing in an elder to interfere!
Worst that can happen are scratches and bruises, and well death (ONLY by permission from the owner)
07/13/10--- HIRING COLORIST!!!!! --CLOSED
01/01/10---To clarify some misunderstandings about how I run the shop...
I am not by any means forcing anyone to stay a "regular." It would be AWESOME to see you all everyday but I know people are busy in RL. I don't take pets away if you all of a sudden disappear. UNLESS it was specified with the pet you won ie.Elder.
As for your pets growing based on activity that's the choice I made. I have seen it in other shops and there was no problem. I'm a colorist I spend minutes/hours depending on what I'm coloring. Time I could spend doing something else. I hate seeing all that time I spent on a pet go to waste sad If you aren't active in the shop it just doesn't grow. I LOVE seeing someone appreciate the work I put into creating that pet and I thank everyone that does that.
And I never said anything about anyone "not being allowed to lurk" or as someone commenting in another shop "Obviously lurkers are not welcome" Bad mouthing my shop in another shop is not nice at all :S You have no respect for me or the other shops owner...
I have no control over what you do! Lurk if you want. All I'm saying about lurkers is that it will be more beneficial to you in the long run on obtaining a pet if you don't. I'm always giving away free pets and other people who win ones and have a lot already pass that pet onto new people. It happens all the time. If you lurk how do we know you are there? confused I like meeting new people and people in the shop always want someone new to talk to. Everyone is always kind and open to new people here; from what I have been observing. So why stay in the shadows? neutral

████████ Naming Rule
Adahy and Di'Taki are to be named after nature "Blackfoot" or have fantasy type names "Ri'Galia".Native American names work well too. No common "Sarah"/Cosplay"Darth Vader" names will be accepted.

████████ General Rules
...Follow the Gaia ToS.
...Respect us and fellow shop goers.
...If you have any questions please PM the shop mule ONLY if it's not answered in the FAQ.
...Do not spam the thread with dozens of emotes in one post.
...Do not steal ANY of the artwork used in this shop.
...Do not ask when there will be events for pets...we will let you know.
...Do not advertise other shop events in your posts that's what your sig is for.
...Do not whine for pets and cause drama.
...Do not PM us or ask in the thread regarding growings...sometimes RL gets hectic. If it's mths over do then yes give me a poke but not if it's a few days...I probably got busy.
...Keep l33t/chatspeak to a minimum we are nerds but not everyone is.
...Don't use crazy post styles like ones that will give us seizures!
...Do not ask for free pets. Stick around and you might get rewarded one.
...Patience is a virtue.Use it. Don't be asking about a pet being certed in the thread. I'll get to it when I have time!! I don't usually go over a week with certs.
...Rules are subject to change so check back.
...BE HAPPY! =D

████████ FAQ
Q: What are the "Adahy" and "Di'taki"
A: They are the shops species names. They are a dinosaur type species that lay eggs and have a noticeable trait of having a feathered rear end. Adahy are the 'normal' race and the Di'taki are the 'mutant' race.
Q: Can they talk?
A:Yes, but usually only to the one they are bonded to. They can understand humans for the most part. They will ask questions if they do not understand.
Q: Do you do pet trades?
A:Yes, See Customs/Bribe/Pet trade section.
Q: Can I have one for free?
A:Ummm no. But if you are a devoted shop regular you may be rewarded. :3
Q: Are these RP required?
A:No, But in order to get the elder stage you HAVE to show 10 separate RP documentation.
Q: I want an Elder but I don't want to RP. How can I get one?
A:Only way to get a elder from not RPing is to offer a bribe. Bribes will be the only way other than RPing for this stage.
Q: How long does it take to grow each stage?
A:Egg->Youth(1 week) - Youth->Adult (8 Weeks) - Adult->Elder (N/A- RP required/Bribe)
*Unnamed youth WILL NOT grow and people who show NO activity after receiving. It hurts to snag and run ya know =(
Q: How do I get my Adahy/Di'taki certed?
A:please post HERE with the certing info form provided.
Q: Elders have magic...what do you mean?
A:All magic is nature based. So one elder can be strong in controlling wind; where as another can control the water. Elders work hard on developing what magic they are gifted with. They don't get it right away.

Clutch: 1-4 eggs; rarely 5
Nest: Made of some organic material such as twigs, grass, mud, and leaves. If the Adahy has a human companion the nests will probably have articles of clothing lining the nest
████████ BEHAVIOR
-Adahy favorite foods are a small, glowing, yellow mushroom species that grow along the bottom of trees. The Adahy are the only know creatures to see the glowing effects of the fungus.
-The creatures are gentle. They rarely show aggression towards humans but there are cases when they do. With their gently nature this makes them perfect companions to tame. If you are special enough the Adahy might let you ride its back! They can communicate with their companion; yourself, mentally.
-Even with their stout forearms they can move fairly fast. They run like an over active large dog! They have amazing hearing and sense of smell.
-Companion born Adahy tend to adapt to humans quicker than wild Adahy.
-Males tend to be more aggressive and protective over their female companion especially during mating season.
-Adahy follow elders. There is usually a High Elder seeing over the younger elders. Young elders have boundaries they look after and monitor. Adults will follow under these young elders depending what area they choose to reside in. They will also choose what role they would like to contribute to their area; such as border patrol, guardian, fighter, teacher, ect or they can choose be a rogue and not socialize with anyone.

Di’Taki is the name given to the mutated race of Adahy.
████████ SIZE
Appearance: Come in many colors and patterns. Have 8 eyes and a distinct feathered rear end. Males have horns and females do not. More furious than the Adahy. 4 ears.
Height: Average 3 feet tall at the shoulder for females; 2 1/2 feet for males
Length: 5 feet females; 4 feet for males
Weight: 250-500 pounds; females are usually larger than the males
Speed: 30km/h
Lifespan: 10-15 years in the wild; longer if raised by a human
████████ DIET
Staples: small mammals, insects, small reptiles
Also known to eat: lichens, leaves, moss, grass, fungus, berries
████████ HABITAT
Western side of the Lake Ha'tooka
████████ REPRODUCTION
Mating Season: Late February,Early May, Early August
Mates: No life mates but it can happen
Clutch: 1-2 eggs; rarely 3
Nest: Made of some organic material such as twigs, grass, mud, and leaves. If the Di'Taki has a human companion the nests will probably have articles of clothing lining the nest.
Extra: Pregnancy is not common among Di’Taki since most males are infertile. When one does become pregnant she is well looked after and the male is shown more respect and possibly asked to try and impregnate more females.
████████ BEHAVIOR
-Not many native humans want to try and ‘tame’ them. This race tends to be more unpredictable; though there are cases where a Di’Taki will get along with a human. But it is not a common sight.
-The Di’Taki are exiled into the Deep Woods because of the mutated gene. This shunning has caused quite a conflict between the two races over the years. In order to help the Di’Taki race survive and also to keep the Adahy race from getting hurt; the first elder Di’Taki made a deal with the Adahy Elders that he will take in any ‘mutated’ eggs or children and that his race would stay on their side of the Lake Ha’Tooka border.
-Di’Taki the same as Adahy don’t usually have a lifemate. Males that show they can make life usually have a few female companions.
-Di’Taki follow elders the same as Adahy.

The Overlook: This is the area where the elders reside. The Overlook is the central gatherings area if a problem should arise. There are 3 large signal fires that were constructed to alert the Di'Taki of a 'mutant' drop off.
Dead Land: This is the area where the Adahy go to die. It’s pretty much their ‘elephant graveyard’ The land is a sacred area sandy area where no trees grow.
Deep Woods: Borders the great Lake Ha’Tooka. This area is a dark and forbidden area to the Adahy. Dwelling deep in its core lives the outcast race of Adahy named the Di’taki. This race is painted with mutations and disfigurations and is looked down upon. Any Adahy that step near the Deep Woods are usually never heard from again.
Breeding Thicket: This is the area where the Adahy come to find their mate. This area is brighter than most places in the Grimshaw forest and flourish with vegetation and water. Many beautiful flowers grow here.
Hatchery: Males are forbidden to enter the hatchery. Only females are to come into this area. Here is where the Adahy lay their eggs and raise their young till they can walk and be introduced into the Adahy way of life. If eggs or children are found to be cursed with Di’taki the females must travel to the Lake Ha’tama and abandon them.
Lake Ha’tama: Best known as the lake of the lost. This lake is where the female Adahy abandon their child or children that are cursed with Di’taki on a small island in the middle of the lake. A natural path helps access the island on both races side. A female Di’taki will ‘adopt’ the abandoned child and raise it as their own. It is a rare case when a male will be there to 'adopt.' This is a neutral area where Adahy and Di’taki do not fight. Not saying there won't be some 'verbal abuse' but physical fighting is not permitted. The water of this lake is undrinkable even to the Di’taki.
Lake Ha’Tooka: This is the biggest lake of the Grimshaw Forest. Most war between the two races are held here since the lake borders the lands of both races.
Lake Ha’Looa: The second largest lake in the Grimshaw Forest. The lake is rich and resourceful; filled with fish, aquatic plants and fresh water. The eastern side of the lake is used by the females of the Hatchery to teach their young to swim. Males often try to sneak into the hatchery near the south of the pond.
Path of Lost: Path that female Adahy take to Lake Ha’tama.
Path of Retrieval: Path that the female Di’taki take to Lake Ha’tama.

:: ADAHY ::

*10 Days coloring time
Young Adahy will take 8 weeks to mature to adult. During this time they will usually 'be up to no good' as they learn the ways of their territory. This is their crucial time to learn. The young are supervised by their father or adopted father during this time. The only time the young are with their mom is for feeding till they are weaned off at 4 weeks. Female human raised Adahy tend to have a closer relationship to their 'mother' than if they were raised by their races female.
Adult Adahy are mature enough to breed. Males are technically smaller than females.Females will take care of the egg till it is hatched and males will then raise the young from there on. Adult females will only have time for feeding since 'they run the show' and have more important matters to tend to. (plot plot =D )
Elder Adahy are the oldest and wisest of them all and they have magic surrounding them. They provide council and leadership when needed. To talk with an elder is considered a great accomplishment and you are held with respect. Most elders spend time worshiping the spirits of the forest and attune to their special gifts. They seek guidance with the stars, and nature as a whole. They hold rituals when they are looking for guidance.

:: Di'Taki ::

Young Di'Taki will take 9 weeks to mature to adult. They are taught the way of their exiled race during this time. Some turn out more evil than others. It all depends who is teaching them. The young are taken care of by either their mother, father or guardian. Di'Taki males tend to wrestle more than females BUT it has been seen by females to. Human raised Di'Taki tend to be more docile than wild Di'Taki and they may have a hard time 'fitting in' if introduced back into the wild.
Adult Di'Taki are mature enough to breed. Though capable to breed there tends to be complications within the males to fertilize the egg. It is more than likely due to their mutation genes that they have a hard time conceiving. The Di'Taki believe; they were cursed by the Adahy. So there's a slim chance they will become pregnant. Males are technically smaller than females; same as the Adahy. Females will take care of their young untill they are old enough to fend for themselves. Unlike the Adahy; Di'Taki females seem to cherish their children more. It is probably due to the low birth rate.

CASTORS
(Bound to Adahy only)
Castors are small beaver type critters that reside in the northern waters of Lake Ha’Tooka. They are shy but are very helpful to all Adahy. It's rare to see them during the winter since they hibernate. But some have learned to adapt to the cold. They do not like the Di'Taki at all.

SALOCKS
(Bound to Di'Taki only)
Salocks are six eyed birds that resembles a raven with horns. They are friendly to the Di'Taki and despise all Adahy since the Adahy see a resemblance in the Di'Taki in them and treat them with no respect.

WAENARA
(Bound to either)
Mink type species that are friendly to both sides. They are great for being messengers since they are agile and quick both on the ground and in the trees.

It's a dark moonless night outside of the circle. The light from crackling campfire dances across the faces of the gathered elders.
The old one closest to the flame raises his head to the sky and closes his eyes, "You walk the path." He pauses for a moment as if he has yet to make up his mind, "It is time."
A piece of wood covered with blood and ground herbs is given to the old one. It emanates a strong sweet smell.
All around you, the others begin to chant, filling the night air with sound, drowning out everything else. Slowly, the old one paints the bowl's contents onto your face. You feel a slight tingle as the concoction seeps into your skin and your body begins to go numb. Suddenly, your vision blurs and the world around you begins to go dark and quiet.
Before you, in this world of darkness, stands a brightly burning manifestation of your god. His words resonate through you "Are you ready?"
"Absolutely," you respond and he begins to fade away.
The waking world rushes in around you. The world is brighter now, sounds louder, and smells stronger. You can feel the heartbeats of your family through the very earth.
"Welcome, brother(sister)," the old one says.

If you have reached the requirement of 10 Completed RP's you have unlocked the elder stage! Congrats! Please click the link below to submit your forum...
