I don't know if I'm going to draw anything today or not.

I slept for ~11 hours last night and still had to take a 2 hour nap today and I'm still tired as hell.

Drawing everyday is fine... I think where I went really wrong was trying to get the video up before going to sleep every day. That was dumb. I should have just done the videos the next day. That way instead of losing sleep while waiting for things to export and upload, I would just be using that time to draw and stuff and it would have been fine. Instead I've been staying up until the wee hours of the morning night after night for almost three weeks with no change in what time I was waking up and now I'm ded. burning_eyes

I'm going to do things sooo differently next year. I'm gonna have all my drawings planned and sketched out way in advance (thinking of what to draw every day is most of the work). I'm going to do the videos a day behind the drawings. I'm going to set up a video template so it all looks nice and stuff.....Yeah....next year is gonna be good..........right?? sweatdrop

The 100 Day Art Event is a couple of months away.
You can try to dedicate a week to this set up you're talking about to see if it would work for next Inktober.
Of course, get permission from the hosts to let you know what the themes are in advance so you can get
your sketches done early. If not, avatar/OC art for a week!!!

Just give yourself a daily prompt list to adhere to for a set number of days to see how it works out.
7 days sounds good because it isn't too long but it's long enough for a personal challenge.
Mermay could be a possibility? Draw mermaids each day of May?
Do a search in Google images: Mermen Ornaments
You may be highly amused or disappointed.


That is quite amusing. I never knew this was a thing...I feel like there should be some story of symbolic meaning behind all this but I can't find anything. My favorite is the merman with blue jean tail. rofl

I'm kind of on the fence about whether to go with mermay or juneofgirls. Mermay is more well known, but for juneofgirls the prompt is just 'girls' which is more open and could include mermaids.

I got a lot out of the beginning of the 100 day event this year:
-got faster at arting (but not fast enough!! rofl )
-learned what types of things I like to draw (and don't like to draw)
-figured out what things I need to work on most to get better
-made new friends and had fun heart

BUT

In the end it just wasn't for me, which is why I left around day...78? I think.

I was already in the habit of drawing every day before I started the event, and I continued even after I left it, so I don't really need it for that. (I even drew today although I haven't inked anything....)

I don't like the fact that I have to draw from the promt list and I HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE the fact that I can't work on anything for more than a day at a time. So it kind of just turned into me doing my own art thing on my own time and then just s**t posting for the event really quick so yeah, I wasn't really getting anything out of that, and it was just making more work for you mods.

I also don't like that you don't get to see the prompts until the day before. I work way too slow for all of this. It just means it end up doing really bad work and feeling crappy overall about my ability.

Don't get me wrong, I still want to hang out in the event thread and see everyone's artwork. I just have no intention of playing along unless the rules get totally changed to where it's basically "draw whatever you want and post proof for 100 days in a row". I would be so down with that.

      It's not a challenge/event if it doesn't have some rules lol
      I don't have a preference when it comes to drawing. If it inspires me, something poofs out, if it doesn't inspire me, haiku is always the way to go lol

Thank you. Mom n I shopped around. We are getting more house for less money. It will be 1,900sft. One story. We both hate stairs. The plan was when dad retired we would build a house on the farm. Well same plan just one less person.

I totally and completely forgot about writing haikus instead of drawing!! That's straight up cheating XDDD;;

And drawing something every single day for 100 days in a row IS rules and is challenging. So there.

I just about screamed with joy when I saw that. Okay, I loudly squealed.
The hubby gave me the oddest look.
I just finished episode 6 and now I'm taking a break so I can finally get around to drawing.
Yay! Netflix buddies!

I'm up early so I might just catch up to you. I thought my watch said 1 pm and not 7 am and it's off by an hour; so it's 8 am not 2 pm like I thought. sweatdrop

Edit: I am now past you. xD I finished season 1 and I'm kinda glad there's another season. I'm kinda sick so all I really did today was watch netflix and chill.
