However,
this won't close when you click on it, since it has a new style on it

(collapse) put a collapse target at the beginning, or something

Yeah, it's a little confusing. For this purpose, any new BBCode tag -- whether bold, images, images, size changes, or whatnot -- is considered a new style.
For example:
Here's a spoiler that cannot be collapsed by clicking on the image (since img is another bbcode tag). However, you can click on this text to collapse it.
Anything that is not inside another bbcode tag should work fine, whether or not it's at the beginning of the block -- so, you can click on this text as well.

Yeah, it would be really helpful! I suspect that the spoiler tag will go unused if people don't know how to use it properly, and it's too good a feature for that! And directions would be helpful for new users too.
