Not sure why no one is complaining about Smashbox. That thing is cranking out 25M every hour. That's 600M per day.

1 bundle of Flynn's Chest can produce about the same. Only takes one person to buy a bundle. They can even get more of of 'em.
I rather have Smashblox than that horrid Flynn's Booty and Flynn's Chest.
At least with Smashblox only one person wins the tournament.

emotion_facepalm We shouldn't have either. Maybe what they could do is just give out X amount of gold per Y amount of points, with gc users getting slightly more, and then capping the games to 50k per day like all of the others.

I've been on Gaia since 2004, and I still remember when 20k was a lot for an item classified as 'rare' (example, I bought Penguin Slippers for 16k back in the day). I've never been an avid buyer of Gaia Cash, but I have sunk at least $100 into GC in the past year or so since I started taking on paypal commissions. I never seem to have enough for the 'good items', but if there's an evolving item I like than I might splurge on it.

While the Offers are a great thing, there never seems to be any available when I go to do them. It doesn't matter what time it is during the day, but that seems to be the case with everyone. The other offers are there to complete as well, but even those can only go far and you don't always qualify for them.

I probably won't be purchasing any more Gaia Cash for a while, and I would like to see Gaia focus more on items that work like EI's and what not for Gaia gold. There is a serious lacking of gold shop updates, and these flash sales for Gaia Cash items are getting out of hand.

You know, it never crossed my mind how few gold shop updates there actually are.
I see cash shop updates all the time that I guess I forget that gold shops can actually be updated. So far this entire year we've had how many gold shop update? 2? 3?
Probably enough to count on one hand. The ratio of gold shop updates to cash shop updates is rather horrid.

Did they recently change it where you can spend gold now to play? Before it was only GC.
The game no longer loads for me since they did their most recent round of testing on it.

Not just you. I actually asked for that to be put up on the front page.
You know another gold sink option: promoting threads. I think it costs like 150GC just to promote a single thread. I see quite a few promoted threads. I think you take out quite a bit of gold that way too.

The main thing I would like for Gaia to do is make a clear and firm promise that they will never EVER release Flynns Booty items or anything resembling them again. Then, they need to put some serious gold sinks in place and give them time to work. Because it will take a LOT of time and effort to reverse the extreme amount of damage they've already done.

I have other suggestions on the overall direction of the company, because I am not happy with all the cash grabs and other things that have been going on, but the main thing I'm concerned about right now is the economy. They need to make that their #1 to get it under control, and then maybe they can focus on some other issues. The crashing economy, though, is going to bring down this entire site if they don't fix it soon, so that's just critical right now. And I'm not even certain, at this point, that it can be fixed.

But Gaia's rule has always been that they won't touch the MP, that they're going to let it play out.
You think they'd break it to finally come help those who are drowning?

Yet they implemented a 2% tax how long ago? Wouldn't that be touching the MP in some form or manner?

I brign this fact up because they did ask not too long ago our thoughts on raising said tax. Although they did state they would not be doing that. However, who is to say they won't go back on their word on that one? rolleyes

I signed the petition in the petition thread. ...That sounds redundant. Point being I have devoted myself to this cause.

I think it would be beneficial if Gaia spent one entire month with releasing only Gold Shop items. A huge Gold Shop update, a big gold sink event, close down the cash shop & club verge entirely for one entire month. The only cash flow being the Monthly Collectables/Donation Items. Kind of like various US States {And the entire Federal Government} closing down for a day. ...Of course, I am sure they wouldn't do it but it's a suggestion none the less.

I totally agree with the suggestion about the promoting threads being a good Gold Sink. Instead of being Gaia Cash.

As I was stating in my post in the petition thread, I really miss the days when the "Donation Items" were a huge deal. I would be so excited each month guessing what they might be and the satisfaction of knowing that you're helping out a website that you love.

I remember when 600k was so crazy expensive to me. I spent so much time grinding on games, polling and posting to save up for months to get 600k and took screenshots because I was so proud of saving that much. Ahhh, the good old days. *sigh* I understand that the world changes and so will Gaia. But all of these new "Flash Sales" and the Club Verge. It's just so much. It's hurtful to those of us who did put so much money into the early days of the website and to see that this is where it's gone.

They should lower their prices, and screw the people who complain, why? Most people complaining are greedy merchants who are mad that their items they made to be sold for 10 mil would be in the shop for 10 bucks causing the price to go down.
I'm sick of everyone only blaming Gaia, while it is initially their fault its the corruption and greed of fellow Gaians that also attribute to this.

Well it's just like, there's no point to play because you're getting nothing out of it unless you're the one guy of the lot to get the highest score. And with my terrible game skills, that's just not going to happen. Just give us a little something to make it worth our while.

Hey, just throwing this out there, would you think it's a good idea, if we tried to set a week aside in October to try and get as many members as possible to boycott GC? We could set it a few weeks from now, and advertise it in our sigs and whatnot. I know it's asking a lot for some people to outright stop buying GC until things change. Well that may not be anytime soon. So let's set aside one specific week, to gather all the members. Users like us can boycott until we see change, but let's reach out to the other members who want to still buy GC, but aren't ready to full out boycott it for what could be months. Sorry if I'm rambling. sweatdrop
