Mega Pinsir is generally pretty easy to take down with the right Pokémon. Its main problem is the fact that it's pretty slow to be able to compete with any sweepers, especially in OU. A STAB or super effective Special Attacker could pretty easily OHKO or 2HKO, whereas a Physical Attacker might have a bit more of a hard time, but not by a huge amount.
Though, Aerilate gives it a pretty major Type advantage, since it now has STAB + 30% priority alongside a few other gadgets.

The main asset to Mega Pinsir is it's the pokémon most likely in the game to cause insectophobics to scream and smash their 3DS upon seeing it.
