Aren't banks places that keep your money safe? Well, how come Gaia bank doesn't do that?

Our gold is always on our account. Some of us have millions of gold, sitting there, waiting to be stolen. If that number wasn't there, but you still had the gold, what would happen? Your gold would be safe, in the Gaian Bank, of course! You would just enter a PIN, that would be emailed to you once every month, on randomized days, but no later than the 12th of each month. This PIN would be chosen by you, as many digits as you want, but a minimum of 4 digits, a number that's easy to remember, decided by you. Once you get a trade pass you would automatically get emailed your PIN, once you decide it. The PIN is just an extra firewall, so PINs may end up being the same. If you're planning to take a break from Gaia, this would be helpful to avoid hacking or losing gold while you are gone. You may seem goldless, but only you have to know that you aren't (sorry, more boastful Gaians.). You can help save millions of future victims from hackers in the future, by just signing this petition! *

I mean, I was hoping that they'd put up a bank for awhile now. Sadly, they haven't. stare

And really, I think that for a pin, users should be able to choose their own, and make it up of both letters AND numbers. It'd be pretty unlikely that, with a combination of letters & numbers, many, if any at all, people would choose the same ones. Plus, if it's one you choose yourself, it's easier to remember than an automatically assigned random one. =P. I know this for a fact. X3.

Anyways, I hope the admins actually take a look at this and decide to do it! I don't mind about not getting interest, but it's so tempting to spend the gold I have, just sitting there, waiting to be spent!!!! But I want to SAVE it up for awhile! DX. It's so hard to resist temptation... ;_;.

Although the idea of replacing your PIN every month could use some work: what if the user stops using the email account that he or she used to sign up for Gaia, or said email account was banned, suspended, or closed by the user? And what if said user can't access said email account because he or she has forgotten his or her password and somehow can't retrieve or reset it? Also, what if the user is about to change his or her email address on Gaia to a new one just as the new PINs are emailed out? How will Gaia handle such a situation, considering that each PIN is unique and will theoretically be used only once?

I didn't mean a brand new PIN would be re-generated and emailed, I actually just meant it would be a reminder email. And resetting emails though.

The problem about resetting emails just as the PINs are sent out: Well, that would be a problem, but there shouldn't be a set time and date for right when they get out. But maybe the new email could be sent on, per say, the sixith of June, and in January, maybe the eighth. Randomized, yet early days of the month.

Also, the PIN could possibly messaged to the user, but that would make the whole bank idea sort of pointless...

Ah. The bit in the original post where you said the PIN would be randomly generated made me think the PIN would be reset every month. My apologies for the misunderstanding.

But the randomized reminder date is a great idea--I like the idea that Gaia could send out our PINs in a reminder email on random days at the start of each month. Maybe the reminders could be sent out no later than the 12th of each month? Or the 10th?

Also, I signed your petition with a graphic in my original post. I'm sorry if it didn't show up for you; that's the occasional downside of using graphics to sign petitions out of laziness. ^^;
