Your ultimate goal should be saving up for a tree killer kin. Trees are enemies called Sycamortes in stage 5 of Kindred Wilds. They drop 1-2b per kill.
There's a tree killer list over here at this guild. You'll want a stage 5 tree killer. I think some of the cheaper ones are Filligris, Carnelion, Candy Corn Skulverine, and Shadow Grunny. Once you get one of those kins you'll need to level them to 50 to be efficient tree killers.
Some of the best tree killers (but also expensive ones) are Sakura Pegacorn Fluff, Ember the Spirited Fox, and The Ambitious Tyrant Fafnir. Pumperilla and Cereus are good in between kins if you can't afford a Sakura but are sick of the weaker tree killers.
In the mean time; you should grind in Fafnir's peak or Zen gardens for RIGs to sell. Also, vote in run way every day, so on the 8th day you'll get a Chirpette bundle that'll level your kin 10 levels.
1) Vote in the Runway every day. Cannot miss a day. On day 8, you currently get the Chirpette Bundle; this contains a Chirpette Kinegg and the 10-pack of Ally Plus 100% potions. Save these potions to help you speed-level your Kin once the hit level 15~20 (or higher if you can take the endless grind).
2) To make gold in this game, you must first invest gold in this game. Most people who want to make gold buy Kin that are classified as "tree-killers" because at Stage 5 of Kindred Wilds, each white tree (Sycamorte) defeated gives you a chance at 1~2B gold (or an Ally Plus 100%, charge orbs, or Sycamorte Seed which is a random Kin generator).
3) With regard to grinding in Wild 5...you have to be Skill level 20 with (ideally) a level 35+ tree-killing Kin. If you are not or do not, you can get by in Wilds 4 but just be aware that there are more smaller prizes available, so you might get one of the small prizes instead.
If you are entirely new, read the LK New Player's Guide. Dirt-cheap (as in, often free) really excellent Kin to start with is Vulcarus.
Grind RIGs/potions/kineggs in Zen Temple or Fafnir's Peak. Sell said items in the MP (or directly back to Gaia via the sellback option in the case of the kineggs from Zen) to slowly build up your available gold to invest in the game.
Otherwise...do you have a budget you can buy a Kin with?
1. Get a Fafnir Peak kin (Vulcarus and Flyvern are both superior to Rosepea). If you don't have one yet, I'll give you one of each.
2. Level them up in Fafnir Peak and/or Zen Garden. These two locations have the best rewards while leveling up in the earlier stages. Pros and Cons comparison between the two zones:
Zen has comparatively weaker enemies when you fight with a Vulcarus or Flyvern.
Zen drops decent RIGs, but more importantly, drops a ton of potions. These might seem useless now, but when you really start leveling and going after tougher enemies, you will be grateful for potions you didn't have to pay gold for. Especially keep your Ally Plus potions.
Fafnir Peak enemies are leveled exactly like your Fafnir Kin, so it's 50-50 on who will walk away, even if you're 1 or 2 levels higher than the kin you're up against. But don't be discouraged, because:
Fafnir drops more slightly more gold per battle, and drops arguably better RIGs. The Boss Fights in Fafnir Occur as early as stage 3 (compared to Zen where you won't encounter a Boss Fight until Stage 4), but the Boss is weaker (still not weak) than the Boss in Zen, which gives you a better chance of running away.
Fafnir Peak's Bosses, Sandman and Fafnir, do not drop Kin Eggs.
Zen's Bosses (Ember the Fox, Nyamaru, and Sakura Fluff) sometimes but extremely rarely drop kin eggs. Not only are these bosses mostly stronger than FafPeak's bosses, but you could grind them for two months and never see an egg.
The Breakdown:
Run from bosses while leveling up in the beginning. They don't drop better rewards, so it's not worth it to fight them and lose an entire chunk of stamina when they wipe the floor with you.
Go to Zen to grab RIGs and, more importantly hella potions. Remember: save all of your Ally Plus potions. We'll get back to this later.
Go to Fafnir to grab a bit more gold per battle, and more importantly, better RIGs.
3. Decide what you're going to do with RIGs. If your main goal is to get a bunch of different items and build your inventory, then open the RIGs as much as you like (you'll find some, like Divine Intervention, which really aren't worth it because of the low rate for getting decent items... but sometimes you do get items worth a couple billion. Still....)
If your main goal is to get gold in pure, sell the RIGs.
Or if you'd like to do a bit of both, read up on post #11 for which RIGs have a chance of granting items you're actually interested in. If you get a RIG that doesn't grant anything on the list of stuff you want, sell it before you can be tempted to open it.
4. Using your newfound experience in LK to get a handle on the battle system, you can either work towards affording your own Tree Killer, or you can become more active in the LK Forums here, and after a while you can request to borrow a Tree Killer from the Rent A Kin forum.
Use that borrowed Tree Killer to farm Sycamortes in stages 4 and 5 of the Kindred Wilds location. Use the gold gained from the borrowed Tree Killer to buy your own.
5. Remember those potions you farmed in Zen Garden, while you were levelling up? That comes in handy now. By now you've probably realized how much time it takes to level up a Kin. It can be pretty daunting to realize you're going to need to do that all over again for your Tree Killer. That's where the potions come in.
Now is the time to use all your saved up Ally Plus potions on your recently purchased Tree Killer. Bring them up to Level 50 (or at least level 25) . Don't worry - you still get the leveling rewards if you use the Ally Plus potions, but make sure you "evolve" any kin with that capability at the correct time. If you miss it, it's over.
Once you're level 25 or higher, continue to farm Trees at stage 4 until you can afford the rest of the Ally Plus potions on the MP. You can usually get a 10 pack for about 13 bil at the current rate.
Level up to 50, and..... you're done : )
Now you can farm whatever you want (RIGs, Kin, Pure, etc) to your heart's content.
For now, if you voted in the Runway for 8 consecutive days without fail, you will receive a Chirpette Bundle that contains a Chirpette kin and a 10-pack of Ally plus 100% potions. You will need to unpack the bundle, then the 10 pack before you can use the potions in the game to level up your kin.
