Giving a bow of his head at the wave, Zephyr's expression was it's normal calm one. "Miss Pierce, I see you're in good health. Try to keep that way, there has been some troubles that might need someone of your talent for. Something that you can be informed of if you so choose. But, the choice is yours on that matter." The businessman said politely to her, a small yet pleasant smile upon his face.

Hearing the voice and looking to see the familiar chef, Zephyr's smile seemed to grow ever more slightly. "Ah Getoth, good to see you. I shall pass on the soup and sandwich I am afraid, I had eaten before departing from the office. But, if you'd be willing to make a cup of coffee or some jasmine tea, I certainly would appreciate it." Stamping out his cigarette into the ash tray as he exhaled his last smokey breath.

"Oh yes, of course. I should inform you of what brought me here. I am dropping off an addition to that medical kit that I had previously given to the cathedral. They are in the case upon the counter. A set of vials that contain an intravenous healing potion that was developed by a chemist under contract with me. Even included a compressed air injector to go along with it." Explaining the purpose of the case he had left sitting there after he stopped at the counter.

What the? It was just plumb weird to have Zephyr being so polite. Natalie fleetingly wondered if she'd been plunked into the middle of Invasion of the Body Snatchers or something. But Getoth was acting normal and so was Bogey. So she returned the man's smile and replied, "Well, I'll let ya know if I need anything! Thanks for the offer..." She chuckled. "And considerin' the things that happen around here half the time when there's people around, a medical kit is probably somethin' that's gonna get way too much use!" Her breathing was easier now, and she reached down to give Bogey more scritches.

Turning to Getoth, she commented, "Sure! Let's be adventurous and try a cheese blend! As much as I love cheddar, sometimes you just wanna try somethin' different..."

Jasmine tea did sound delightful at that moment. "I will see to the tea," he agreed, prepared to step back inside only for Zephyr's words to still him once more. Medical supplies? "That is a very generous gift, Mister Zephyr, thank you" he hedged, resolving to look at the contents of the case once all of the orders were filled. He wasn't about to turn aside valuable medial supplies that could very well save a person's life on the property someday soon. (After inspecting the contents for himself, of course. ) Which brought up another question... he'd only recently decided to see about reopening the brewery. He'd only placed the proper calls the previous afternoon, and already Zephyr was appearing as if summoned. Natalie, he could understand, as he spoke with her often enough. Zephyr, however, was another case entirely.

"Cheese blend it is," the chef agreed with a chuckle. Finally the man returned to his kitchen, the soft clanging of equipment inside detailing his work. Water set to boil with tea leaves set aside. For Natalie's requested adventurous blend, Getoth opted for a cheddar, havarti combo resulting in a very gooey center with the sharp taste of cheddar he knew Natalie enjoyed. On the outside of the buttered sandwich, he sprinkled parmesan. The parmesan melted to the sourdough until it became a crispy, golden coating.

He ultimately returned to the main lobby, plate of food in hand along with the requested cup of tea for Zephyr. His own food remained inside the kitchen, which he would return for in a moment.

Tilting his head towards Natalie at her words, her show of politeness to him being returned in kind. As per how he operated these days, as Getoth has witnessed many times. "Oh, you might be a bit curious about this one. It involves a man named Ray and a corporation called Helix. And yes, the medical supplies I had brought before were rather useful, but as some people have an aversion to magic, the same can be said for technology. So by including both as options allows both sides to be covered equally." Zephyr stated the reasoning behind the new additions being brought.

Hearing that his request for tea would be fulfilled, Zephyr smiled gently. "Thank you, Getoth. And you are most welcome. I have a few other things I do wish to share as gifts at one point, but they are still in testing phase and I haven't yet found an occasion where I have been shot at in order to test them myself." Though he was certain that it could be arranged quite easily, but he wasn't in the mood to be stepping on toes needlessly.

After a brief moment of time, Getoth had returned with his cup of tea. "Ah thank you." He would wait til the tea was placed before him to look into the cup, though he normally had his tea with some sugar, he wasn't opposed to drinking it straight.

Ray and the Helix Corporation...Natalie had only heard a few details here and there about how that operation had gone down, but it was one heckuva story! Maybe someday she'd hear all of it...Meanwhile, she was nodding at Zephyr's logic on the medical kit including both magical and technological equipment, because some people could respond well to magic but not tech, and vice versa. "That makes sense," she murmured. "I know that even with my healing abilities, I can't heal everybody. Some folks aren't affected by my kinda healing, and for some, it makes 'em even worse, when good ol' technology makes 'em right as rain." She had her own bit of tech but had yet to figure out how to use it in healing.

She almost smirked when Zephyr mentioned that he hadn't had a chance to test some of the other things he wanted to share, as she could probably think of quite a few people--herself included--who tended to get an itchy trigger finger while thinking about this guy--but she really was trying not to let herself get baited. Maybe she could even find it in herself to forgive him. Maybe. Probably years from now. I just have to keep reminding myself that St. Paul had a lot of people killed before his conversion, and if he could turn over a new leaf, anybody can...

She got a whiff of the cheese blend that Getoth was whipping up in the kitchen, and she beamed. "That smells wonderful!" she called out. And soon enough, Getoth was back with Natalie's dinner. "Oooo, thank you! This looks yummy!" She dug in appreciatively, savoring the taste.

Yes, he could see the value in keeping both options on hand. Not all who came through those doors had the same physiology, and beyond that, not everyone would accept healing from technology or even magic for personal reasons.

Getoth once more returned with his own cup of tea and plate of food. Though his clothing was smudged with dust due to his attempts at returning the brewery to order, his hands remained clean.

"You are both welcome. So, Mister Zephyr, is your delivery all that brings you so far out this way?" Natalie quickly dove into her own meal, practically melting in her seat much like the cheese inside her grilled cheese. It was safe to say she approved of her adventurous choice.

"Precisely, By making a kit that contains both types of healing, it allows it to be used basically universally. Alongside the standard medical supplies such as bandages and the like that is included in both kinds of kits. So we market three separate kinds. One magic based, one technology based, and of course one that contains both. It actually has been rather profitable since they are items that are consumed upon use." Though he was certain he bored them to death with the business details, it was something he was rather proud of his scientists for creating. The bio-tech field had been blooming quite well, even the cybernetics division had been doing well.

Holding his hands up with a chuckle as Getoth inquired about Zephyr's business. "Oh you have caught me. I suppose I might have a somewhat soft spot for the resident chef. After all, you've always been polite and respectful towards me since I had been coming here. Even going so far as to step in between myself and Saizu when she would start a verbal fight with me. Asides for the delivery I was simply choosing to drop in and check up on things." Taking a sip of his tea as it had a chance to cool down some, Zephyr released a content sigh. "Your presence helped me to feel welcome here, probably why I had kept returning."

As much as she mistrusted the guy, Natalie had to admit that what he said about different kinds of cures made a lot of sense. You really had to be prepared for all kinds of contingencies, so it was good that somebody was doing the medical research for this stuff. And even though she shuddered to think of some of the ways his research scientists might have arrived at their information, there was still also the distinct possibility that they were operating under perfectly moral and ethical conditions.

As for the rest...Natalie contented herself with just eating her dinner, savoring the way the cheeses, bread, butter, and soup combined. Even little Bogey was at peace, having finished his dinner and curled up at his mama's feet. His little snores could be heard if you were close enough.

((I'm gettin' sleepy, so I'm probably only good for one or two more posts before I collapse in a snoring heap. lol))

Getoth nodded along with the explanation as he nibbled at his own food, cheese stretching comically. It was the second half of Zephyr's speech that caused the chef to pause in his eating, eyes growing wide. He... what?

It was true Saizu often picked a verbal fight when in the same room with Zephyr, but when Getoth intervened, it was not with the intention of doing so on the man's behalf. Rather, he did so in order to protect the satyr from potential repercussions over what boiled down to a minor altercation. He chewed his bite of food slowly, taking the time to reboot his thoughts into something resembling coherency.

"I am glad I could provide a welcoming environment," he finally settled on, choosing his words carefully. Getoth hadn't realized he managed to ingratiate himself to the businessman to the point of verbal acknowledgement. It was.... in a word, baffling.

"It has been a bit of a battle, getting the place habitable again and ensuring all of our supplies are on hand. Thank you, for checking in on its progress. It means a lot knowing this place still has people who cherish it." Like Natalie and... now Zephyr.

Getoth always assumed Zephyr had some sort of ulterior motive for returning time and time again. The battle within the forest with those beetle creatures, the battle between Dema and Era and such. A place to find powerful individuals to join his employ or peddle the wares of his science division. The clientele would be a perfect sample group, given its vast variety of entities and backgrounds. Getoth never stopped to consider he played some part in Zephyr's repeated return.

Taking another sip of his tea as he allowed the information he spewed to be digested some more. Natalie seemed to be rather focused on her food now, she he wasn't so inclined to interrupt her eating with chit chat. But Getoth seemed less focused on his meal. Though the wide eyed look got a chuckle from the businessman. "Well, I understand it is part of your duty, but you performed it without prejudice. Something that not all people could do." Leaning his head back, Zephyr drained the last of his tea before setting the cup down. "Oh I am certain of it, I hadn't paid much attention to exactly how long the place had been left empty. But I do remember it had been a while."

Natalie had quietly finished eating, and she wondered what Zephyr's motive was in reality for his return here. He sure seemed charming and pleasant these days, but she knew that the guy could still be dangerous. What he would be doing here, only time would tell. But in a way, it kind of warmed her heart that Getoth had actually seemed to make a difference in the man's life. Maybe not deep down in the soul, but the mage's friendly demeanor and caring nature had still made a small impact on him. And it reminded Natalie that anyone could make a difference in the lives of others, just by doing small acts of kindness and treating everyone with respect.

"I think we've all stayed away too long," she murmured. And I for one have spent way too long letting circumstances and other people and even memories and fears intimidate me and keep me from living life to the fullest... "It's good to be here again. Maybe make some new memories..."

It was then that Bogey woke up from his nap, and he started pawing at Natalie's leg. "I think the little one's gotta go for a walk!" she said with a chuckle. "Excuse us!" And she took Bogey for his walk on the grounds.

((And that's it for me tonight. I can't type anymore because I keep falling asleep! Good night, everybody! emotion_zzz ))

"Have a safe walk, Miss Natalie," he called out, almost on autopilot. He was still processing. "Yes, I must agree. New memories." The cathedral held a long history both before Edward's remodeling and after. It was a place of sanctuary, offering all a second chance with a fresh start.

Zephyr's counterpoint drew forth a smile from the chef. Not without some difficulty, in the beginning. Yet this cathedral was a place of new beginnings, and Zephyr was clearly embracing his own.

"Practice, Mister Zephyr. I have had plenty of practice. It helps that you return the courtesy." The blond hummed, eyes fixing upward toward the still unsightly rafters. Still so much work to do. "I can only be thankful the buildings remained standing and not vandalized." He certainly did not have the resources to fix any stained glass masterpieces or large amounts of destruction.

"Mind the mole hills." Zephyr stated to Natalie as she went to take her pet for a walk. Lighting up a cigarette, the businessman tried to drink in as much relaxation time as he could. "I rather prefer to treat others as they treat me. It would be rude to not return your treatment." As he sat there, the familiar buzz came again. It looked almost as if Zephyr was about to roll his eyes. "Yes?" Speaking aloud to no one, his features dull for a moment before he quickly stood up and dug out his wallet. Laying a ten onto the counter to cover the tea and the tip, Zephyr grabbed his cane. "Calm down, I'll be there as quickly as I can." Smoke coming from his mouth as he spoke, Zephyr released a sigh. "Business never ends it seems. It is time for me to depart, have a good evening Getoth." Giving a bow of his head, the businessman left in a hurry, obviously it was an emergency.

"You travel safe as well, Mister Zephyr," he returned, waving a goodbye as the man paid and walked away briskly. And he was once again alone. The chef sipped at his drink, partially gone cold. It was a night of learning, it seems.

With no more distractions, Getoth polished off his meal before approaching the metallic case and flicking it open. Hm... He would spend some time examining the contents, poking and prodding before putting the entire case away behind the bar.

Plates cleared away and dishes returned to the kitchen for washing. The money given was also placed in the cash register. Should anyone enter the already propped open cathedral doors, they would find a mostly clean interior with a plate of cookies on the bar. The sound of light humming might catch the ear, floating out from the kitchen where the chef was hard at work.

Another quiet, if surprising, evening. The chef covered the cookies to keep them fresh on his way out the door, and a little sign inviting any guests who wandered inside to take one. Getoth also went around closing the building up before leaving properly. Not locked, naturally, but the doors and windows firmly shut to keep out the elements. Getoth gave the front doors a few pats before beginning the long trek back home and to his bed.

Tomorrow.... he would take tomorrow off. No reason to burn out before the place even got up and running again.

(Yay! Replies are always great. Thanks guys, for joining me. >w<

Also, i'll be on a while longer if anyone else wants to join in for a bit.

Off to bed I go. )

Getoth arrived to a large crate resting inside the cathedral. So the delivery was made earlier than expected. No matter. The chef stepped around it, heading for the cellar to retrieve a crowbar. He uncovered the cookies once more as he passed, putting them in view of anyone who wanted one should someone stop by tonight.

Hm... still no sign of anyone visiting. It would take time for the word to spread, but in the meantime, Getoth would enjoy the minor peace.

(I can stay a few hours, if anyone would like to jump in. )
