Okay so I think there are enough people in the world already.
BUT
I dont think the goverment should have control over people's bodys.

Am I the only one failing to see the connection between overpopulation and the gov't having control over your body(unless you're in China, of course)?

I mean, shouldn't the 'but' have been an 'and'? Maybe I'm just nitpicking because the thread has died again....

The first statement could be used as pro-abortion, but she supports choice on the legal level. That's the connection.

Actually there can be such a belief. We like to call those "anti-lifers" pro-abortion. Some people don't want kids. None whatsoever. But do you think celibacy is going to happen? ******** no. They're going to ******** whom they want and if they get pregnant, they'll get an abortion.

Like my friend doesn't want any kids at all. Which I wouldn't blame her because well...for one she's quick to anger >.> ANYHOO..She thinks its a woman's choice to have an abortion if she wants one, but she will always end her pregnancy in abortion.

I had an abortion almost 14 years ago, to this day, I do not regret it, and in fact view it as one of the best things I've ever done in my life. I never want kids, I never did want kids, and I never will want kids.

Alright, so it's been a while.
I got into a tiff with someone on youtube (I don't know why i keep doing that, since youtube's comment system makes it impossible to follow the conversation)...
But basically, I brought up bodily domain, and can't for the life of me remember how it would apply ( or wouldn't) to the following situation:

But should a mother be able to abandon her 1 year old to die in the wilderness on grounds that the child had no right to force it's mother to use her body to carry it to civilization? Or is there an obligation between parents and their young that goes beyond any between mere strangers?

I went into an explanation about child abuse and what-not, but I'm afraid that doesn't really sufficiently answer the question.
