Actually, that human evolution hasn't seemed to progress at the rate of other animals, vindicates Darwin. Y'see, the principles of natural selection on which the process of evolution *depends* are based on need, on competition, on a limitation of necessary survival resources.

By and large, the development of agriculture, the ability to feed masses with the work of few, has removed this; and the humans' unique level of reliance (at least on earth) on technology has major effects on the *direction* of human evolution.

There is a type of evolution called divergent evolution. It mean that two organisms evolved from one organism. Usually this happens when one segment of the population is seperated from the others. Such as when epeiric seas (water flooding lowlands, like where the Grand Canyon is now) transgress onto land or pieces of continents break apart, forming islands, or are smushed, forming mountains.

Besides, apes of today are not the same exact species of apes from yester-eon. A lot of things happened between then and now. All of our lines evolved according to the environment we live in. We are finding transitional fossils. Unfortunately, an environment condusive to fossil-making is very rare so we may never find them all.

This may surprise you, but take Geology. I found the most sound and least confusing evidence for evolution is in Geology. Especially the history of the Earth and where the continents were and how they formed and... now I'm OT

Selective pressures give women with three arms an advantage; They can do dishes, laundry, and make you a sandwich simultaneously, whereas the two-armed women take longer and receive a subsequent beating from it.

Trying to say that humans evolved from apes is like saying the Empire State Building just grew out of the ground. Evolution is a crack-up that Darwin just made up to get attention, and he sure did by securing his place in history, no matter how stupid his theory is.
