Hi and welcome to Medieval's Eternal Legacy.

I originally started this charity after my best friend in RL quit gaia and left me all her items and gold.
I had always wanted to start a charity of my own but getting funds together can be hard.
Thanks to her I was able to make one of my dreams come true.
After running a successful charity for more than a year I got busy in RL and had to close it down for a while.
I am back now though and I hope to assist many more people in obtaining their dream items.

The rules are here for a reason and need to be followed at all times.
The first time a member // applicant breaks them they will get a warning.
The 2nd time they will be blacklisted and added to the mules ignore list.

★ Please read everything on the first page.

★ Follow the TOS & Rules & Guidelines at all times.

★ Keep it PG 13

★ Be as literate as possible.
You don't have to be perfect with spelling or grammar, but try to make your sentences understandable.

★ No begging.
It just annoys me and you will end up with a warning.
If you would like a donation follow the application process.

★ No advertising.
Keep in mind that having your quest item and the progress you have made as part of your posting style is considered advertising.
A link in your posting style counts as advertising too.

★ Keep the atmosphere friendly.
Get to know the others here and be polite. Treat them as you would like to be treated.
If you have a problem with someone take it to PMs but keep it OUT of here.

★ Obey the staff members at all times and treat them with respect.
If there is drama and one of them asks you to leave the thread for a while please do so.

★ Bumping is ONLY allowed when there are NO people around.
Bumping includes posting bumps, emoticons, song lyrics, or just random stuff that has nothing to do with the conversations going on in the thread.
When there are other people here chat with them and get to know them. The point of a charity thread is not just about giving out donations,
but for people to get to know each other and to make new friends. If you are just here for donations then I don't think you deserve one.

Please check the FAQ first before sending a PM.

★ Do not quote anything on the first page

★ Regulars are allowed to correct people, but only in a friendly manner to avoid any conflict.
Since the staff are not around at all times it is fine for the regulars to step in and correct someone if they do something wrong.
Please be polite and friendly about it though.

★ No spam.
This especially refers to going overboard with emoticons in one post.
If you want to spam then go to the chatterbox.

★ Do not ever bad-mouth another charity or person here.
It pisses me off. If you have a problem with another thread or person don't bring the drama here.
It causes tension and make other people feel uncomfortable.

I have been a member here on gaia since March 2007 and since then I have met many awesome people.

I attend college full-time as a sociology major and have two part-time jobs (one in retail, one in an office on campus).
I live in the attic in a house that was built in 1900. I also love pasta and owls, and pasta owls. And wooden turtle keychains named Roland.

I'm Syrshamiel; you may call me Syr, and I've been a member of Gaia since July 31st of 2007 (yes I do remember when I first registered)
and I'm old; like really old. I live at the other side of the world so I'm mostly online when most people are asleep.
I like chatting with people, being lazy, doodling random avatars, being lazy and video games. I'm most usually apathetic
so if something doesn't concern me I just shrug things off. Anywho I hope you enjoy your stay here!

October 14th, 2010

Finally, after almost 1 year I have gotten around to reopening the charity. Even though I will still be quite busy with RL I am going to try to be online as much as I can.
A new staff member, Gin-Gin_version2, will be joining us so give her a warm welcome. She is going to be in charge of most things here, including sending out donations
when I am away.

Things will be different this time around. Instead of people sending in applications, we are going to keep an eye on everyone that hangs out here.
You will need to be active in order to get something. Donations will be sent out once or twice a month, maybe more.
These donations can be either gold, a wish list item or maybe even a RIG. So be on your best behavior!

There is no longer an application form, but in order to be eligible for a donation the following apply:

★ Account must be older than 1 month.

★ You must have more than 300 posts on gaia.

★ No mule accounts.

★ Follow the rules at all times.

★ Be active and chat.

★ Be friendly and get to know the other people in the thread.
A charity is not only about getting donations, but also about making new friends and getting to know people.
This does not mean only chat with me when I am around, but with the other people too.
Also, I do backread everything so chatting should not stop if I leave.

★ Every time you receive a donation say thanks. It is just common courtesy.

★ You need to follow the rules at all times and respect others posting in the charity.
