Stage One: Basket
Here is where your Shakaiyo’s life begins. Not fully developed and blind at birth your basket is your Shakaiyo’s protective embrace and connection to its roots, the spirit world. It is how their ancestors came to the world of the living and as such yours will too. It’s its safe haven where it can fully develop into your beautiful pet. Give it warmth and love and your Shakaiyo will come forth from its basket ready to play.

Stage Two: Youngling
As all young pets are your Shakaiyo is fully of life and energy. They’re naturally .inquisitive and curious creatures. Some will get into trouble of course so a good hand in discipline will be needed. Others may be shyer and stick close to their mothers and owners. Protect them at this stage and you won’t regret the rewards.

Stage Three: Adult
Ah yes, the last stage of your Shakaiyo’s development. They are ready to see the world, find their own path, and become one with the spirit world. It is their dream and soul wish. Every Shakaiyo hears and reacts to the call differently. It is then the real fun begins. How will your Shakaiyo deal with the call?

Once long, long ago, when there were gods who ruled above and below, there were many creatures who roamed the Earth that were not human. Some were being who just were and others had been created. The gods celebrated both life and death; so when it came time for souls to transpire to the Etherworld, they demanded payment from those who had passed on. In the mists of the Etherworld, there existed a race of spirit animals to assist in this transition. The Shakaiyo. These Shishi, or spirit dogs, were created to guide the spirits to the underworld, protect them from vile demons and monsters that fed on the deceased's energies, and make sure that the gods received those souls that were rightfully theirs. For generations, the Shakaiyo led the spirits and lived in small packs around the world.

And so for thousands of years, the pattern of life and death flowed smoothly like the rivers of the Overworld. But this harmony was not infallible.

One day, a strange thing happened. Jindo, the head of his pack, came across a soul who did not want to cross. Her tears and wails were heard all the way to the Etherworld, her despair was so great. Now such a thing had happened before and always before these protests fell on deaf ears; who were the Shakaiyo to deny the will of the gods? The balance between life and death must be maintained. However, this time, it was a little girl of just six who had drowned in the local river. Ae-cha, who was loving daughter, had been to the river to get water for her ill mother. The monk at the temple had said that only the purest water would save her mother and if she could just return... She pleaded, cried for a day and night to be allowed to go back for it was just she and her mother. Her father had died in the war just after her birth. No siblings did she have. Without her, her mother would grow sad and wither away, the illness would claim her quickly. The girl's story and tears managed to touched Jindo so that he brought her soul back to her body. Miraculously, after almost two days of being between the Etherworld and Overworld, the girl came back to life and all was well again.

Or so, Jindo thought. When the gods realized that he had balked on performing his task of escorting souls, they were angered. He had upset the balance that was life and death. For every action, there was consequence. How did he not know that if this girl grew, she would not grow with evil in her heart having cheated death? Angry, the gods decided to punish all the Shakaiyo and strip them of their immortality. Taking all of the spirit dogs, the gods dropped them in the Overworld. From that moment on and until the ending of the Over and Etherworlds, they would be earthbound and no longer allowed to escort the souls as had once been their honored duty. Lost and scared, the Shakaiyo gathered back into packs where ever there was a temple or cemetery to try and gain the comfort of being near spirits again. Thus came the superstition of the white spirit dogs coming to symbolize death.

And now, Jindo the Ancient still tells the story of his shame to those who have come after him. He repeats their history and his fall from grace lest the young forget. Let this be a lesson to all. To disrupt the balance, is to disrupt life. Now, they must learn to live as mortals. They must learn to live on their own.

Shakaiyo are available through a number of different forms. You can receive a Shakaiyo pet from Auctions, Raffles, Flat Sales, etc.

Flat Sales are random and completely up to the colorists. Flat sales will always be announced at least 24 hours in Advance!

• You may only win 1 Shakaiyo / Freebie / Flatsale per month
  
• Do not edit your post during a flat sale
  
• No whining please
  
• Proxies are allowed. You can proxy for only ONE person
  
• You may co-own, two people to one pet.
  
• Flat Sales will be held in various methods.
  

• Please keep the amount that you have to bid a secret. Boasting about funds will discourage other people, and is not accepted.
  
• Please keep the bidding increments to at least 1k gold.
  
• Autobuys are at the discretion of the colorist who is working the auction. If you are going to autobuy an auction, you must clearly state so.
  
• Pure Gold, Monthly Collectibles and Letters, Evolving items over 40k+ are accepted in bids.
• Please value all items at the lowest buy price for that day on the marketplace.
  
• There is a 10 minute Anti-Snipe Guard. If anyone bids 10 minutes before the auction ends, the ending time is extended for another 10 minutes. Snipe Guard in effect until 10 minutes goes by without a follow up bid.
  
• There is no retracting bids in an auction.
  
• Please do not bid anything that you do not have.
  

• Each Raffle ticket costs 100 Gold.
  
• You may buy as many raffle tickets you want for you and or for friends.
  
• Send all trades to the Shop mule
  
• Please list how many tickets you want in the trade title, it makes things very easy for the staff.
  
• For Multi-Pet Raffles, the first number drawn will receive first pick, then second pick, then third pick, etc.
  
• You may only win one pet per raffle. In the event that someone is chosen twice, the raffle will be redrawn.

• Customs will open at the discretion of the colorists.
  
• Colorists may not open Custom slots if they have not finished the workload from the previous slots.
  
• You may only claim one slot for each time the colorist opens Customs.
  
• Payment is due right away. If you do not send the payment within 24 hours, you relinquish your slot.
  
• Payment is subject to fluctuate according to difficulty. You will be informed before the Custom is accepted.
  
• After the Custom Form has been approved it may not be changed.
  
• Customs are done at the discretion at the colorist, please do not rush them.
  
• Refunds will not be given. Refunds are only given if the colorist fails to ever complete your custom.

• Your Shakaiyo must be an Adult for at least 2 weeks before they can be bred. This goes from the time that they are dropped.
  
• Shakaiyo breedings result in 2-4 baskets for lifemated couples and 2-3 for fling couple. The amount is randomized unless the couple has RP. The more RP the couples enter in, the greater chance of getting 3 baskets. Or more.
  
• Breedings cost 20k - 10k from each owner.
  
• If one or both parents are edited, there is a strong chance the edits will pass on to the children.
  
• If you allow the colorists to, edits and colorings can be passed down from earlier generations.
  
• Breeding slots are opened at the discretion of the colorists. Please do not complain if breeding slots are common at one point and rare at others.
  
• In the event that there are 3 baskets, the last one may be co-owned between the two, or it can be given away to a friend, as long as both parties agree.
  
• Baskets may not be sold for profit.
  
• Refunds will not be given unless the colorist isn't able to complete the breeding.

Roleplay in this shop is not required. Like many shops however, RP will yield Perks.
RP can be done in both the Main Thread and Guild in forms of journal, private RP, public RP; etc.

• RP is not required but will get you perks like more offspring during a breeding.
  
• No God-Modding
  
• Do not discriminate, please allow everyone to RP.
  
• It is encouraged that when RPing as your Shakaiyo, that you choose a text color.
  
• If you are going to talk to others who are not involved in the RP, you are encouraged to use (( )) or [[ ]] to denote that.
  
• Please note whether or not you have a Private or a Public RP. All private RP should occur in the guild, private can occur in both the Guild and the Main Thread.
  
• Most Shakaiyo live their entire lives without seeing a human. There are no human villages for miles. Because of this, you may not have human OCs to roleplay with Shakaiyo.
  
• When they were Banished from the Ethersands, the Shakaiyo were stripped of all their powers. Your Shakaiyo may not have any supernatural powers.
  

• The Oasis - This is a large haven in the middle of the Desert, unknown by humans. Though some rogue packs choose to live in other territories, the Oasis is the home of the vast majority of Shakaiyo. Here they have plenty of water to drink and swim in (as well as a beach). They have trees to sleep under, edible plants to harvest, and small creatures to hunt. This is also where the Elder Council meets, and where most Shakaiyan festivals take place. Though most Shakaiyo are nomadic and choose not to settle down, the largest number of Shakaiyo dens can be found at the Oasis.
  
  
• Eranshar Desert - This big, forbidding desert is the primary home of the Shakaiyo. Shakaiyo are very resistant to heat, so most of the time the desert atmosphere doesn't bother them. They can also travel long distances without water, though no Shakaiyo can cross the desert without bringing an extra waterskin or two. The Eranshar is also a place that holds many secrets. Who knows what's been buried under all that sand?
  
  
• Nazir River - The Nazir is a mighty river that flows from the Sanid Mountains to the Tamerian Sea. In some places - especially towards the north - it is deep, fast and impassable, but in others the desert heat dries the river to a trickle that can be easily crossed by hopping from stone to stone. The river is teeming with fish, and many Shakaiyo stop there for an easy dinner.
  
  
• Tamerian Sea - No Shakaiyo has ever crossed the Tamerian Sea and returned to tell the tale. The huge body of water extends all the way to the horizon with no end in sight. The Shakaiyo that live on the beaches of the Tamerian lead a life that is a bit more tribal and relaxed than their brethren from the Oasis. Some Tamerian Shakaiyo are even known to go surfing on polished boards.
  
  
• Ardanshir Forest - The Ardanshir is a huge mass of tropical forest that surrounds the desert. Some Shakaiyo prefer the coolness and protection of the trees to the heat and sands of the desert, and so have chosen to live on the outskirts of the woods. The forest itself becomes a mass of thick, tangled branches a few miles in, and no Shakaiyo has ever managed to travel all the way through it. The Ardanshir is home to many species of small animal, which makes it an excellent place for hunting.
  
  
• Sanid Mountains - This huge mountain range is riddled with caves and mystery. A powdering of snow can sometimes be glimpsed at the very top of the peaks. The tallest mountains in the Sanid are incredibly huge. No Shakaiyo has ever ventured over them to see what lies beyond. Even so, some Shakaiyo make the rocky caves of this place their home because of the secure shelter they provide.

• Q: How do I get a Shakaiyo Pet?
  A: Please refer to the availability posts. All information on the public availability of pets will be listed there.
  
  
• Q: Can I get one for free?!
  A: No, you may not. However, there will be events where free Shakaiyo will be given out. This does not mean that you may beg for one however.
  
  
• Q: How much do they cost?
  A: Please refer to the availability post, the answers to your questions will be there.
  
  
• Q: When will my Shakaiyo grow?
  A: They will be a basket for one week. When the basket opens and your kit emerges, this stage lasts two weeks. The final stage is the adult stage and is Permanent.
  
  
• Q: Customs/Breeding aren't open... OPEN THEM!
  A: I'm sorry, that's not a question. Secondly, Customs and Breedings are opened at the discretion of the colorists. Please do not beg us to open slots.
  
  
• Q: Can we co-own Shakaiyo?
  A: Absolutely! A maximum of two people per pet please.
  
  
• Q: What is accepted as payment?
  A: Usually, with Auctions, Monthly Collectables and Letters are accepted as a bid, at low Tek-Tek buy price for that day. Also, any Evolving Item worth over 50k is acceptable, along with Pure Gold. For Flat Sales and Raffles, only Pure Gold is accepted.
  
  
• Q: Can I choose to get a refund?
  A: No, you will not get a refund unless the shop is closed down and your pet hasn't grown to it's full maturity.
  
  
• Q: Is there a limit to the amount of Shakaiyo I can have?
  A: No, there isn't a limit. There is only a limit to which you can win. During events and flat sales, you may only win one Shakaiyo from a Flat sale and one Shakaiyo from a Raffle at a time. You may bid on more than one Shakaiyo in auctions.
  
  
• Q: Can I be a colorist?
  A: Everyone will be notified about Hiring when it happens. However, we will approach people to Guest if we want.
  
  
• Q: Are these RP Required?
  A: No, these are not RP required. However, these are very mysterious pets. RP here is rewarded. More information on this later.
