January Gummy Gwee Award!

Chaos, by Jupebox and Teh Cheryl, hosted what Tofu and DFA both considered to be the single most awesome SS shop of this year (right after NNL/CG's, of courrrse! ;D)! Offering everything from pre-mades to full, line-edited cosplays, there was likely not a soul in the B&C who didn't secretly crave one of these adorable little pets. Thankfully, most of us did manage to score one, as they clearly worked very hard to open as many spots as possible throughout the month. Also impressive was their ability to not only open all of the stars on time, but to promptly re-cert them with names as well!

A SS event that spifftastic and well managed could only be pulled off by two extremely talented Gaians, and so it stands to reason that the everyday Chaos shop must be equally impressive! For this reason and more, we're giving Jupe and Cheryl the January Gummy Gwee Award-- so congratulations!

Aug 9 - Since Cheryl fails at life and totally forgot about the flatsale, it has been rescheduled to be on Monday, Aug 9, at 5PST and is now a Flaffle.
Aug 2 - Now it really has been awhile. D: The shop's been a bit dead the last year, but Jupe and Cheryl are starting on a few little things~ A flatsale has been set for Friday, August 8th so been on the lookup out for some FS previews~
April 8 - Wow, the shops's been dead for a bit, no? Well, to kick things off a bit, Jupe and Cheryl are trying to catch up on some growing. Also, Jupe's spring vacation as spawned a cosplay auction with an angelic raffle. Oh my. <3
August 21 - Flatsale is over~ Congrats to BlackFeatherAngel and Catloverofdoom for winning our two newbie stars and Sirita and Shikon Miko for snagging out two adults.
August 16 - Flatsale date has been set for Monday, August 21 at 6PST. If you are unsire of your time conversion, post in the thread and Cheryl will try and figure out the correct time.
August 14 - Flatsale Previews are now up as well as some growings. Flatsale date to be decided. Please vote in the poll.
July 27 - Jupe is finally back so hopefully we can get caught up. Birthday Chaos and familiars will be colored and certed as soon as JUpe as time and any delayed growings should follow soon after.
July 1 - Cheryl has opened a custom auction. Jupe should be back soon for a few days before she must leave again.
June 24 - Jupe's on a bit of a vacation for now so all event Chao will be done afterwards. In the meantine, Cheryl's opened up some cheaper customs and expensive breedings on page 250. She'll try to get a flatsale or an auction gong while Jupe's done so the thread doesn't die. <3
June 1 - A Birthday Bash event has started in honor of Cheryl's birthday, which is today. This event will run until June 9, Jupe's birthday. <33 Come check it out as a haord of Chaos are going to be given out.

May 20 - Our third flatsale was a success. Congrats to -Polar- + Ameh, Kayleigh-chan, Shikon Miko, AnimeChickie, Chieri & Dark Lunar Fox, agentgirl112, and MoochiLove! A birthday bash is currently in planning so expect some event coming up in a few weeks,
May 17 - Congrats are in order for Agentgirl112 (aka Oya) for winning our Familiar RP event and a custom-colored Familiar! For those interested inr eading all the RPs that rook place, click here. A Flatsale is scheduled for Saturday the 20th.
May 14 - Happy Mother's Day to everyone out there. The thread's been busy busy busy today. The Familiar RP event has started (page 342) and Cheryl's been RPing her head off to keep up. Congrats to Pine and Nina for their their batch of stars from the breeding auction (page 345). A small batch of pups have been spotted on page 346 and flatsales previews have been announced on page 346 as well. Growings and previews can also be seen under the Previews and Growings post.
May 13 - A familiars RPing event has been announced. Refer to page 342 for details.

April 1 - Whee~ Cheryl has her Internet back so hopefully I can re-situate my computer soon. We'll try to get some events up and running to revive the shop soon as well. ^^
February 13 - We were going to have an auction for Love and Death tomorrow, but since Cheryl's AIM hasn't been working and communication has been severely hampered, the auction will have to be postponed until the story can be finished. ^^;
February 9 - Our second flatsale is over~! ^^ People stumbled a bit since Cheryl was a sneaky little devil and had some fun playing with their minds. However, congrats to our new (and old) owners, k i n u, ninja watches over you, Kisoni, and Sorelle~ <3 On another note, our special Valentine Day chibis are now available in limited quantities so check out page 2 for the information.
February 3 - After some miscommunication and internet fritzyness, a flatsale has been arranged for Thursday the 9th. <3
January 28 - The shop died for a bit but we're back~ Cheryl is catching herself up on growings and trying to finish up some pet trades while Jupe does the same. With luck, a flatsale should be coming up soon.

- General Rules -

1 - No stealing the art. That's a given. Do and Cheryl will poke you with her demonic spork. (And you shall be blacklisted.)
2 - Play nice around the thread. No biting, scratching, or kicking others, got it? Basic kindergarten rules. I'd say 'Don't eat the paste' but I'm not sure it's possible unless you have virtual paste. o.O
3 - Don't be rude and use basic common courtesy. Cheryl doesn't mind language (she will probably be the largest potty mouth here) but keep it to as... non-crude as possible. (Meaning, if every other words needs to be bleeped out, that's not good.)
4 - Do not beg for a pet. Do not ask us to lower our prices as Chaos are four-stage pets. If you really want one, start saving. An event should happen as least once a month and we shall try to make them so everyone has a chance.
5 - You may not trade, auction, or sell your pet. If you wish to give up a pet for whatever reason, you may sell it back to the Othrys for 2k and we will reuse the Chao in the next flatsale or event. PM Othrys for more information (and please provide a legimate reason).
6 - No more than four quotes in a post. They just clutter up the board and make them unnecessarily long. Not to mention it's a bit of peeve of mine. <.<
7 - Be as literate as possible when posting. I despise chatspeak. I hate it with a great passion. Why? Because I have no idea what people are trying to say when they use it. Whether you are role-playing or just chatting, try and remember they grammar and spelling skills your English teachers drilled into you.
8 - Chaos are not role-play mandatory. However, it is highly encouraged by Cheryl that you do. Role-playing can take place in main thread and regular role-players may be able to gain certain benefits. <.< Most likely sanctioned by Cheryl.
9 - Technically, this is not a rule, but try and pop by the thread every once in awhile. Please don't jusr snag a Chao from a sale then disappear forever. We enjoy seeing owners come by even to just sneak in and poke someone. We're aren't going to take away your Chao if you never visit again, but it's just something we'd appreciate.
10 - Don't pout if you don't get one at an event. Do not make the winners feel guilty. Doing this repeatedly can cause you to appear on the Grey List.
11 - Mules are not allowed on any events to gain more than one Chao or to give you an unfair advantage.
12 - Of course, all Gaia rules apply.

-Flatsale Rules-

1 - First come, first serve rule. Flatsales will almost always be speed flatsales. Prompt, trivia, or other types of flatsales may occur but will almost be announced beforehand. Cheryl will try to plan events so everyone can have a change. Since most events are made to be for speed -even trivia-, luck based flatsales may occurs. (Basically, whatever pops into Cheryl's head.)
2 - Flatsale starts when Othrys post "The Flatsale Has Now Started" in bold hot pink letters. (But, Cheryl's a sadist so she may try and trick people if she's the one running the flatsale. -grins-)
3 - Each flatsale Chao is 4k. Gold is prefered but a donation letter for that month may be accepted. (Special flatsale Chaos may be priced higher.)
4 - You are allowed one Chao each flatsale for yourself.
5 - You are allowed to buy a Chao for a friend who may not be able to attend at the decided time or buying one as a gift.
6 - You may own a maximum of three Chaos from flatsales.
7 - No editing posts during a flatsale. Cheryl and Jupe will be monitering the boards. We catch you, and you're in trouble.
8 - Only one Chao per a post. If you want a second one for a friend, you need to use a second post. If someone takes the Chao you wanted, you need to post for another one. (No 'I'll take #3, if gone then #5'.)
9 - Twenty-four hours is given after we post the final winners to send trade. If there are special circumstances, please PM Othrys or post at the time of the flatsale. (Special Circumstances: Proxying.)
10 - If you bought a pet from the last flastsale, please sit out on the next flatsale to give new users a chance.

- Auction Rules -

1 - Auction shall run for usually a week. No more than three weeks.
2 - Autobuys will usually be available.
3 - Items in Mid-Lucky Devil are accepted. Please tally your own bid.
4 - Have gold/items ready before bidding. Twenty-four hours are given after auction end to send trade.

- Raffle Rules -

1 - Raffles were always have an unlimited amount of tickets sold.
2 - Raffle tickets will usually cost 100g each.
3 - Raffles will usually run for about a week.
4 - Winner(s) will be selected using Randomizer.org.
5 - You may buy tickets for someone else.
6 - You may choose to co-own raffle Chaos.

1 - How many Chaos can you own?
You can own up to three flatsale Chaos, but as many event, auction, or custom Chaos as you like.

2- Can we direct link to our Chao?
Yes, you can direct link (as you need to to watch the pets grow). However, we ask that once your pet has eached its adult stage that you save onto your own server.

3 - How can we get a Chao?
Flatsales, Auction, Customs, and Raffles. Go to the 'Events' section for more detail.

4 - Do you take pet trades?
Yes, but since Jupe is the colorist, it must be approved and for her. ^^;; So, if you wish for a pet trade, PM Othrys with information. However, please do not be offended if she turn it down. (Cheryl would love to be able to take them, but she's horrible at art so unless she manages to smuggle and template and tutorial off of Jupe, don't count on anything from me. <.< wink

5 - Are we allowed to co-own?
Yes, you may co-own with the maximum of two people. Simple inform us which two users wish to co-own.

6 - Are Chaos role-play mandatory?
No, it is not required to role-play if you own a Chao. However, Cheryl encourages it and she may offer mini-benefits for regulars. <.< Jupe likes to see RPing, but probably won't participate much due to her lack of RP skillz. ninja (<-- Which are much better than she says.)

7 - Can Chaos breed?
Please refer to the 'Breeding' Section.

8 - What format will dates be in?
This usually depends on who is updating or writing, but it will usually be in a month/day/year format. However, since Cheryl's a little nerd, she will usually write out the complete date (ex: October 2, 2005).

9 - Can I be a guest colorist?
Maybe. xD PM us with a sample of your coloring skills and Jupe and Cheryl might consider it. Might. If accepted, you need to have all 4 stages already colored by the time of the auction/flatsale.

10 - Do you have same gender breeding?
Chaos of the same gender can mate but will be unable to produce children. They are free to adopt a Chao though. Cheryl does not mind if you wish to RP romance between Chaos of the same gender.

11 - Can my Chao die?
No. Well... just no. ninja

12 - I keep hearing 'Velah' everywhere. What are Velah?
Velah are mega-uber cool breedables at the shop run by -Polar- and Kasey. GO THERE. They are the reason Cheryl (and Jupe) have managed to sneak there way into the breedable forum. (Cheryl's first breedable was Puppet, a mega smexy custom Velah.)

13 - How often will events take place?
This depends on how busy Cheryl and Jupe are at the time. Both are still in school and that takes obvious priority over Internet time (Cheryl: <.< -shifty-) but Cheryl will be trying to have at least one event each month (more or less depending on how much Jupe is willing to color).

14 - How do you prounounce Chaos and Chao?
Chaos is prounounced as "Kay-as" and Chao is said as "Kay-o".

- Common Chaos -

Most common form of the Chaos; Common Chaos are found on varous planets within Othrys but most commently found on Xylon and Aeaea. Usually, a Common Chao's physical characteristics can be determined by the planet that was closest at the time of their birth.

- Angelic Chaos -

A new race of Chaos of appeared, those which leavesmall feather in their wake. Oddly enough, their sightings seem to concentrate around Ciel. Hmm... interesting...


- Cosplay Chao -

Chao based of some pre-existing character from anime, manga, books, movies, plays, ect. Often include lineart edits and additions. (If you wish, Jupe can create a cosplay Chao based off your avatar or even a pre-existing breedableif we get permission. ninja ) Cosplay Chaos can come with full or partial stages or as a one-stage pet. Pricing and further information is avaible in 'Customs' section.

Star - The first stage of a Chao. Chao take form as stars which may appear over any region of Othrys. A star's location determines much of the Chao's life. At this stage, the Chaoa is easily influenced by their companion's personality. Often, companions who spend more time with the unformed Chao during this stage will have created a stronger bond between companion and the Chao.
- Common Chao stage lasts about 6-8 days-

Pup - The second stage of a Chao. The formless light has finally taken form into a small pup. Their eyes remain closed through the entire stage, and they are highly vunerable. During this time period, the Chao will rely heavily on their companions and other Chaos. This period is the easiest time for your Chao to develop its own personality as it is highly open to outside influence.
- Common Chao stage lasts 12-15 days -

Teen - The third stage of a Chao. Your previously puppy Chao has finally opened its eyes to the world around it. By now, your Chao should have its own mind and will often treat you as its pet. Self-assured and friendly, your Chao is starting to find the stable element in its life.
- Common Chao stage lasts 20-23 days -

Adult - The fourth and final stage of a Chao. The Chao has finally grown from his childhood and should be wise and knowing. Adult Chaos are expected to guide and help along the younger Chaos who are trying to bond themselves to their companion. However, Chaos are named appropriately, and the adult stage when their mischievous nature comes into play.

Othrys, the world of Chaos. ... Kind of. Welcome to Othrys, the galaxy of Chaos.

Thrinacia - The one and only sun with Othrys. Thrinacia is the main source of heat and light within Othrys but Chaos have to be careful not to move to close toward it during travel.

Tartarus - The closest planet to Thrinacia and uninhibited. A layer of red dust or fog, making it difficult to see any distinguishing landforms or water often surrounds the planet. Conditions on Tartarus are often extreme for common Chaos to live on.

Alcandre - Second closest planet to Thrinacia. Chaos have been known to dwell on Alcandre in the various hidden oases but the population is small. The majority of Alcandre is hot and dry, mostly covered by sand that receives harsh windstorms. Occasional Savannah-like areas have been found where a sparse amount of vegetation can grow but areas like such are rare. Alcandre has one moon named Thetis.

Tethys - Third closest planet to Thrinacia and roughly 98% of the planet's surface is covered with water. Small tropical islands are scattered around its surface with sandy beaches and beautiful scenery. Has been said that a mysterious and thick fog has covered some of the islands but more information has been unconfirmed. Tethys has three moons: Scylla, Naiad, and Styx.

Aeaea - Fourth closest planet to Thrinacia. Like Xylon, it is highly populated with Chaos but the population is lower than that of Xylon. The majority of land is covered with forests, but unlike Xylon, the forest are dense with vegetation to where it is almost unbearable. Tropical forests cover most of the middle region of Aeaea which receive heavy rain all year around. Near the polar ends of Aeaea, cooler forests similar to those on Xylon tend to manifest, making comfortable grounds for Chaos population. Aeaea has one moon named Cyril.

Xylon - Fifth closest planet to Thrinacia. Xylon is one of the most populated of all the planets as over 50% of the known Chaos population live there. Most of Xylon is covered in lush forest with plenty of shelter and vegetation. Valleys and meadows are scattered along the land, making the planet a peaceful place to live. Most Chao prefer to breed and raise their offspring in Cycnus, a large forest located with its Northern Hemisphere that is surrounded by a variety of lakes and rivers. Winters and summers tend to contrast but the weather is quite mild compared to those on other planets. Xylon has two moons that orbit it: Iris and Avel.

Ciel - Sixth closest planet to Thrinacia and the largest of all of them. Often surrounded by light cirrus clouds or an unnatural pink/purple fog. Little is known about Ciel but odd types of Chaos have been seen to pass by often, leaving feathers in their path... Ciel has three moons in its orbit named Dia, Asteris, and Syrie.

Taygetus - Furthest planet away from Thrinacia as well as the smallest and coldest planet in Othrys. Terrain is mostly unknown due to extreme condition except for large snow-capped and fog covered mountain ranges that can be seen from a distance. The largest mountain range travels almost completely from the north to the south and has been named the Pramnian Mountains. Almost all water on Taygetus is frozen due to the cold and harsh snowstorms have been detected. Taygetus has one moon orbiting it called Ciro.

Black Hole - Older Chao often tell the young pups stories about the Black Hole. They are warned constantly to stay away from it during travel, as the results could be disastrous. However, despite these warnings and scolding, younger adults and teens often make a game of how close they can get before they force themselves to pull away. So far, these groups have been lucky enough to turn back before gravitational pull becomes too strong...

Chaos can easily travel between nearby planets when they are aligned or close by. The ability to do such travel is given at birth to change themselves into their original form of small balls of Shadows. Chaos are often mistaken as comets and shooting stars when they travel between planets.

- Rules -

1 - Follow all regular thread rules.
2 - Follow all Gaia rules.
3 - No god-moding because the reason obvious.
4 - Be as literate as possible. I don't expect big long flowery sentences but chatspeak is no accepted. Meaning if it takes Cheryl or Jupe longer then 5 seconds to figure out what you wrote, it's not going to work. Please try your best to use appropriate grammar and spelling.
5 - You can't roleplay with characters that aren't yours.
6 - Try to make your writing a different colorings than others to make it easier to follow.
7 - When in the middle of an roleplay, please distinguish out of character chatting. (Doesn't matter how.)
8 - Keep everything PG-13 or below. Please.

- Other Information -

1 - Most roleplaying should take place on either Xylon (forests, meadows), Tethys (islands, beaches) or Aeaea (fog, thick jungle). If Chaos are not common in a certain area, please do no roleplay them until a plot comes by that can allow it.
2 - Roleplaying is encourage at all stages. Including star. I'm not sure how people manage to roleplay when a pet's in it's egg stage, but they have.
3 - Be creative when roleplaying. Cheryl and Jupe love creativity and something special may happen.
4 - You can role-play in any format. Examples:

1 - Breeding slots cost 7k each. Price can be split between users if they wish to split the number of Chao born.
2 - Both owners must consent, even if only one parent is taking the Chaos.
3 - Each breeding can produce anywhere from 2-5 Chaos.
4 - Born Chaos can be kept, given away, or sold back to Othrys for 3k each. They can not be raffled or auctioned unless under special circumstances.
5 - After time of breeding, Chaos will take form in 7-14 days.
6 - Chaos can only breed three times.
7 - Chaos can only breed once every 60 days.
8 - Newly formed Chao will often take an appearence similar to their parents. However, mutation during birth may occur.
9 - Only adult Chaos can breed.
10 - A Chao can only mate with one other Chao in their lifetime.

Jar-O-Fog - Fog from Galen, the largest forest so far discovered in Aeaea. Place the Chao, while in its star stage, in the bottle to changes Chao's gender. Can only be used when in its first stage. Has a 50% success rate. (Roll one 20-sided dice. If elevan or above, Chao has successful changed genders. Roll directly after sending PM and trade. Do not roll more than once. One roll per an item. Unlimited amount sold to each user.)

Water of Ciron - Water from the moon of Taygetus. Halts the growing process. Can only be used in pup or teen stage. However, can be hazardous if used during pup stage. Process can only be reversed using another potion.

Long hours have gone into collecting the main ingredient, the cold dew drops that form in the early mornings on the outskirts of the forest in the peaceful meadows. Sprinkle lightly over Chao in star-stage to change a Chao's gender.

Cosmic Dust - These dust balls are the result of various minerals that have found a way into open space. These creatures are usually shy and have a innate dislike of water. They leave a small trail of dust in their path yet never seem to grow smaller... Example

Stars - Star familiars are smaller stars that have fallen from the sky. They are a highly common familiar and are generally friendly, especially toward Chaos. Example

Winged Comet - These comets with small transperant wings appearing behind them are the oddest familiar yet to be discovered. The wings help them achieve greater height when flying in the air but this poses problems from younger comet who often find themselves lost while flying. They enjoying racing among themselves and have mischevious nature. Example

Specific lineart edits (such as clothes, hair, props) would be helpful to Jupe and Cheryl to make sure you get exactly what you want. Saying this, please make sure the reference pictures you give us are as you want the character. Also, make sure the character looks exactly the same in -all- pictures.
