Story/Setting

Most people tend to think when a human becomes a vampire, they loose there soul. However this may not be the case, at least not in a certain group of vampires. Yes they do live off human blood, but it comes with its own toll, they have become protectors for a select few. These girls and boys are the chosen people. Simply normal people who were seen with the worst of fates in the beginning and needed to be protected by someone, anyone, the vampires. The whole ordeal is overseen by an old man, no one really knows what he is, he appears human, yet how could he harness such powers. Needless to say, when born the humans are giving something, usually a necklace, that they are forced to wear, because once put on it will never come off. This necklace contains part of the vampire, almost like a marriage, until death do us part. Normally when the human dies the vampire gets their soul back, and can choose to give it away again, or to keep it and become evil. However there is the rare acceptation to the rule, that a vampire falls in love with the person he or she is guarding and chooses to change him or her. However this is rare it still happens.

The story is set in the present of 2009 it is March 31, and the teenage guardies are out on spring break, which has been extended to two weeks due to the school construction. They come from a small town where nothing interesting really ever happens except for the crazy parties that tend to end in death or sever bad comings one way or another. For teenagers the town is deadly.

Bio: Maxine grew up as one of a privileged few, however she didn't see it that way, her parents were both lawyers and because of that they were never around. A nanny raised her and was there on her first day of school taught her how to ride a bike and read. Just a nanny not her mother or her father. However through all of that Maxine just looked away pretending they were there. Until she fell in love with music at the tender age of seven, and then advanced it to dance at the age of ten. Now she is a ballet instructor for children after school and is in many productions in the big city. Maxine has however not been very graceful off the floor resulting in many bruises, cuts and even broken bones.

Personality: Jiro is rather quiet. He will go into crowds of humans and can usually control hismelf. He is rather calm and is very casual. He is not shy but he doesn't really like to talk for hours upon hours. He usual just stays quiet and lets the other person do most the talking. Just nodding his head every now and then and mumbling a few 'I sees' and stuff like that. He doesn't cut himself off from everyone else like he used to, however he wish he could without being bugged.
Bio: Jiro was an 'accident' and he was always abused and hit because of this. His parents hated him, loathed him. Everything that went wrong with their lives was blamed on him and taken out through hitting. Often with their hands but sometimes with items that were nearby. He went to school like everyone else, but he always put himself into solitude there. He got great grades, he was the top of his class in everything. However he never made a friend, not one. Even with all his achievments he was still called a 'mistake'.

As he grew older, he never really grew bitter he just learned to not let himself trust. He stayed as a loner, however many people tried to change that. But it never worked, he feared that if he made friends or brought someone over they would get hit too or he would get hit even more. So he cowared. One day he ran out after getting a beating when he was about 17 and ran into a man....(continued in reason for giving your soul away)

Personality: Tyson is very much like a child. He is very energetic and loves a good joke. When he feels his throat beginning to burn he will bolt out of where ever he is but other then that he will stick around for as long as he can. He will talk for what seems like hours, but he is not a guy you can stay mad at for long. He can be serious at times but usual he is just a bundle of fun. He knows what he is and tries to keep it a secret and control himself, but of course while having a blast not only with people but with his never ageing thing and beyond human abilities. He is surprisingly actually smart.
Bio: Tyson’s parents absolutely adored him with his fun and energetic ways. Not only was he good at sports but also with his brain. Tyson was not spoiled, he was given things only if he needed them or deserved it, and that was perfectly fine with him. He liked to try new things and would often join a random club, one year he even ended up in ever club, well except for the really girly ones like knitting, that’s where he had to draw the line. He had many friends, but his best friend was Jack, yet another very hyper guy. These two went everywhere together that was until one night when Jack went out alone to a concert without asking him to tag along or telling his parents, any who he was hit by a car on his way there and dyed in the hospital. Tyson was devastated that his best friend had died and sulked for a long time no longer caring about anything.

Reason for giving your soul away: Tyson hated the fact he no longer had a friend that would laugh at his own jokes just like he did or act the way Tyson did. No one could replace him and thus he sulk. He would often walk around the streets at night to go to where Jack was hit or go to his grave. That’s when ‘he’ found him. James Vernotic. A very tall man, not really large in the stomach but just big in anyone’s eyes. James offered Tyson to take away the pain of losing his friend in return for his soul, liking to try new things as Tyson did he agreed and went with the man. Only to become a vampire, but hey he doesn’t hate it, he finds it rather fun.
How long have you been a vampire: Tyson has been a vampire for about 25 years, he’s not that old but he is a lot of fun.

Maxine was up in her room, eyes closed tight as she listened to the music allowing the rush of it all to melt into her body. She moved with it, not even sure herself what she was doing, only what felt right to her limbs. A knock on her door and her eyes snapped open, she pulled the music out of her ears and slowly walked to the door, up on her toes still from dancing. Quickly her hand outstretched to the door and turned the handle pulling it back. Maxine looked at the tall dark haired man and the much shorter blond haired woman. Both their eyes a mesh of green and blue, much like Maxine's on any given day.
"Hello Sweetheart," The woman spoke softly smiling all the while, she had slight crows feet starting in her eyes from all the fake facial expressions.
"You're Father and I needed to tell you that we won't be able to make the performance this Saturday, we're to busy with work." She hurried her head down now.
Maxine's face fell but she turned away from them her shoulders hunched in the re-quenched disappointment. "Alright, just shut the door on your way out please." She said with a half hearten sigh, they both nodded as if they'd made the right choice and turned to leave.
When would it be her day for work to be less important. Since she was ten her parents had made it to only two performances, and that was with people who enjoyed ballet so they got points for showing off their daughter. Two times out of twenty-six. It made her sick.

Sera felt consciousness slowly make itself known from the light that was shining brightly in her eyes. That light was the sun, and she knew that it was her wake up call. Her foster mom, Holly had started this about three weeks ago, when Sera first moved in. She didn't really care for Holly, but it was better than having to deal with her real parents. The ones that would abuse her daily. Now, she was just bugged if she didn't do something. Slowly, Her eyes opened, which were covered in her hair. She blew as much out of her face as she could and sat up with a stretch. "Morning, sunshine!" Holly said overly happy, as always. Sera replied with a groan and a glance at the clock. 10 am. She sighed. Never did anyone get to sleep past 10. That was almost a sin. Holly and her husband, Jeff, were a very religious family. They were worshipers of the God that Sera didn't believe existed. If he had, why would he have let her be born into this life? It made no sense. Wasn't he there to protect? She wasn't protected. She was abandoned. Holly smiled and left, so that Sera could change and enter the life of boredom. Lovely. After finding a somewhat decent outfit, she walked across the hall to the bathroom. Just as she got the door shut, it flew open, hitting her in the face. She heard familiar laughter and fumed. "Alex! You douche berry! I'm going to kill you!" Sera yelled before slamming the door in her foster brother's face. He was a year older than her, and acted ten younger. It iritated her a lot of the time. But... That was life in general.

After being disappointed enough and sulking over it she decided to use this depression for good and spend some of the money her parents threw at her, she knew it was cheep but she had an endless credit card limit. Quickly Maxine got in the shower and washed out her long blue hair, tears falling from her eyes but the massive jets took care of it. After she was out Maxine picked up her cellphone and sent a text to Sera on the phone Maxine paid for so she could keep in contact with her dear friend. "Hey, shopping spree you in?" She texted quickly as she dried her hair and did her makeup.

After managing to get through a shower, Sera made her way to her room to grab a somewhat nice outfit. She was in the middle of digging in her drawers when she heard a familiar buzzing to the tone of everything from buckcherry. She rushed over and opened the text. It was from Maxine. 'Hey Shopping spree you in' Sera quickly flipped to the text board and typed. 'Sure give me a few. I have to kill Alex first.' She sent it and finished getting ready.

Maxine giggled at the response and then finished herself curling her hair and grabbing her keys to the Porsche her parents had bought her a year ago. It was a yellow and black custom paint job that was black bodied with a gold yellow butterfly spread across the hood. Her eyes were covered in fad tint amber big sunglasses. She fixed her hair one last time and put on the white dress tying it behind herself as she went, finally putting on light blue pumps to match her hair.
Now she was ready as she went down the steps and out into the garage to go pick up Sera. After a ten minute drive she pulled into Sera's current foster parents place and knocked on the door quickly when Holly answered she jumped. "Hey, I'm picking up Sera." She said lightly with a smile and Holly nodded letting Maxine past, quickly she went up the stairs to Sera room, Alex was in the hall looking smug.
