>> Life as a teenager can be pretty hard. School, acne, your crush always denying your existence, but for one teen in particular; life is more weird than anything.
Yoake Kakine, a fifteen year old boy runs away from his life of luxury to go for what he’s dreaming for. On his quest, he finds himself lost in the forest; and face to face with much danger. When all hope seems lost for the boy, he is saved by a woman and her son. As time goes by, Yoake starts to live in their small town deep within the dense forest. He learns of many secrets and hardships these people share; and how dangerous knowing some is. And how would a teenager know how to deal with living so closely with a woman much older than himself? Can he handle the stress of his odd situation; or will he be forced to head back home?

Bio

Yoake was raised in a wealthy family. He went to a private school, had great friends and a wonderful future ahead of him…that is, if he wanted to take over the family business; owning large manufacturing companies all over the world.

Although Yoake had the chance to become a billionaire like his parents, he was more interested in Science. His parents were disappointed in his decisions and wouldn’t allow him to do anything he wanted. Mad that his parents wanted to choose his life for him, he fled his home after a day at school. Knowing that his parents wouldn’t notice him being gone for quite some time, he took a two day hike out of the city and up into the mountains that were behind the city he lived in. After spending half a day scrambling through dense ferns and forest, he came across a boy (Sakai) and a woman (Namida). He passed out from exhaustion, and woke up in their house.

Now, Yoake has been caught up in a world of chaos and confusion, and has no idea what is in store for him.

• Tamashii grew up with both Namida and Hokori. Like them, he shares the DNA of an animal- panther/cougar. Although Tamashii is loud and annoying, he's also humorous and can be quite caring. He looks out for Namida, and even though he won't admit it to her, has feelings for her. Even if he gets on her nerves, she likes him...but is it in the same way?

Bio

When Tamashii was a young boy, his mountain village was in the midst of war. His mother had died during childbirth, and his only family was his father. His father was always busy with the war and never had enough time for Tamashii. When Tamashii was only the age of 6, his father was sent to deliver an important message. He never returned, and was pronounced dead. Tamashii's only family after that were his two friends; Namida and Hokori Himitsu. Together they struggled through one of the hardest things...and 400 years later are living in the same village that haunted them in their past.
Tamashii, along with the Himitsu siblings must attempt to keep something so big from the world; something that could in fact cost them their lives if it fell in the wrong hands....

Bio

Namida's childhood was full of misery. She had an abusing father, who was also a general of a war, her mother was murdered right in front of her, and her brother learned to turn on her as she became older. Her father saw that girls were a waste to his blood; he tried to kill her when she was born. If it wasn't for her mother, she would've died. Her whole life she tried to gain her father's trust by becoming a fighter. Although she could beat a majority of the boys; some who were much older than her, her father refused to accept her as family.
Even to this day, she spends her time training and becoming stronger....to prove to herself that she's just as important as her brother. Her memories are filled with those of her mother and how she always believed in her...and her brother for being who they were. Namida has made it her promise to never give in to something she believes in...and to always protect those who believe in themselves...

*Like Tamashii, Namida has the ability to turn into a wolf when she pleases, or against her will during a full moon.

Bio

Sakai is the son of Namida and Tazuna. After learning about his family's past he becomes closer to his mother. He trains everyday to make himself feel safer about an encounter with his father. He spends most of his time with his mother, concerned for her and himself. Like Namida, Sakai shares the same "DNA" but is able to control when he wants to turn into a wolf and when he doesn't.

•Hokori is almost always by himself. He very seldom will talk to people unless something’s bothering him. He doesn't get along with his sister (due to problems in their past) but is close to Sakai.

Bio

His whole childhood was filled with memories of being taught to fight, for he someday would be the head of the village; and the wars. Hokori obeyed everything his father said....but it sickened him to see his younger sister be abused and pushed around like she was nothing. When his father was off on a mission, Hokori would take Namida and Tamashii to the stream and teach them everything he had learned. But, after the cruel death of his mother, a tragic incident to himself and then later the death of his father...Hokori changed. he no longer thought of his sister as a sister. He thought the same way as his father....she was just an extra weight that would always slow him down.
He spends all of his time now visiting the graves of his parents and thinking about his past. His biggest question to himself is always; "Why?".

Bio

Suiren's parents were both killed by a rabid bear when she was only a few months old. Luckily, her parents had hidden her before the bear came. A few hours after the horrific attack, Suiren began crying loudly, and Tamashii just so happened to be around investigating the murder. He found Suiren, and took her in with him. She was raised by almost everyone in the small town. Her dream is to live in the city (which is why she dresses so nicely) and live with a wealthy family

Bio

Tazuna grew up in a very tough neighborhood. The way of life was to kill or be killed. He formed a gang at the age of 13 and terrorized the streets of the city. When the police started to hunt him down, him and his gang escaped into the mountains. While there, Tazuna met Namida and convinced her to elope. After realizing that he was going to have a son, he snapped and abused Namida. He vows to someday catch Sakai, his son alone and kill him to show Namida that he didn't let her escape without consequence.

Bio

Okamiotoko comes from a planet in a far off galaxy. Over 500 years ago, he was sent to Earth to observe how the creatures of the planet acted. He spent most of his earl years on earth observing the different species of animals until he stumbled on humans- the village in the mountains is where he first observed them. When he sent back the gathered information about what he had found he was given an order to experiment with the village. Although he hasn't heard anything from his home planet for hundreds of years, he still closely observes the members of the village.

Of course. Any type of art/style of art is welcomed!
• Is there a deadline for the contest?
Yes, so far it's on August 1st, 2009. Plenty of time, right? :] It's been updated again, I've been asked a few times if I could extend the date, so it's now currently December 1, 2009.
• We can enter more than one drawing, right?
Yes. You can enter as many entries as you'd like to. =]
• Are there any rules with the couples?
Nope. I'd like for it to be kept PG-13, but other than that anythings fine. Yaoi/Yuri...anything really.
• I'm not sure I understand how I'm supposed to enter my art.

Sorry, I didn't make this very clear. Use the entry form (1st post, 1st page) and you can either PM me it or Post it on the thread. Don't worry about losing you picture too, I'll upload them on my own photobucket album so they'll be safe.

It'd be better that way. That way you wouldn't have to find it again to post the link to the picture.
• I was wondering about Namida and Hokori. Do they have different DNA then Tamashii? Or also panther/cougar?
Yes, Namida and Hokori do have different "DNA" then Tamashii. They were both bitten by the same wolf (in order to protect on another). Sakai also shares the wolf DNA, since his mother has it.

Of course. Just remember to follow the rules and credit any bases you use. :]
• What does the 'WIP/Final Entry' on the entry form mean?
Ah, sorry. that's confusing a lot of people.

•Why is Sakai's hair like that? Black and blue I mean...I thought Tamashii wasn't his father?
He's not, but Sakai really liked Tamashii's blue hair when he was younger, and decided he wanted to dye it (plus, it looks cool). Also, Namida (his mother) wanted to make him look different in case his real father decided to show up.

There's myself, Gogodancer21 and Amazing Applesauce (so far), I might get more judges. That way I have a little more opinion instead of just mine.
