Yeah, that definitely sounds dissociative to me. I know that autism is already prone to dissociative tendencies as is, but add some ptsd to it and you're not gonna have a good time. From what I understand autism doesn't do well with trauma compared to nt folk. You should definitely look into dissociative disorders, if you feel a strong surge of denial when you do, keep looking.(If you do have something like that, it will try to prevent you from learning the truth b/c that's what it's purpose is. To block things out in order to protect you.) Though, if you're seeing a therapist or such, you might want to have them on standby. Learning that kind of truth is disruptive to say the least. On the other hand it could just be ptsd symptoms too, several MI's have dissociation as symptoms. Basically, handle all of this with discretion. If you can't tell, I have a special interest in psychology. I have to know these things in order to help myself, but it's also so, so fascinating.

Could be, I've never related harder to any other cartoon characters quite that much tbh. Never seen myself represented like that before in so many ways. My first time watching SU was while I was in the hospital in Dec2013 being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. It was the a** end of Together Breakfast, from the point of "It has awll the powahs of a complete breakfast!" on; and I had NO idea wtf I had just seen. CN didn't even say what the show was during the credits! Years later, during the Sardonyx arc, I started seeing art of her everywhere on Deviant Art when I still frequented. The four armed design got me interested. So I started researching where this "Sardonyx" came from! Recognized Garnet when I finally found the wiki page and I've never been the same since XD

Y'know, cn's content started taking a dip in 2006 and it's never quite recovered. When SU was airing they had something good and were always trying to cram teen titans go down everyone's throat all the time.

I'm saying you have to like PD at all tbh. I just like discussing the way the characters were developed in SU. I tend to understand the motivations and emotions of cartoon people more than physical ones :sweat:

PD/RQ was written to be extremely polarizing like this. She's not really meant to be good or bad, and it's entirely up to what lens we see her under and what we as viewers project onto her. I do like seeing you add to your understanding of PD/RQ as a character and person though!

Of course, it's hurtful. All of that show hit so close to home. I wasn't really able to see how hurt I actually been throughout my childhood until I watched SU, especially Future. Likely you didn't realize either.

I hung out a lot on the SU subreddit and the debate there was absolutely heated. I remember reading a tumblr theory master page on RQ=PD and one of the things on that list that really stuck out was Rose's batcave(The armory), complete with a Giant Penny. The moonbase was "Wayne Manor." I don't blame them for not believing lmao, they tried to confuse us about it at times XD

I still remember the time CN gave us a clue by pointing out Pearl's hand to mouth thing during a promo! I couldn't believe no one had noticed up to that point! Once that happened, people really started questioning Pearl. We'd been given very little backstory for her compared to Garnet and Amethyst, her active refusal of food and shapeshifting, her obvious love

I'm sorry to ask, but can I also get a text list? I don't recognize quite every item on the list! I do like what you did to make that shirt a dress, very clever. I was trying to figure that out last night XD

I would assume that modern base makers would have different rules about that as the culture has changed over the years. But, back then(2000 to about the early 2010s) everyone was doing pixel art by hand like I do and making their own bases. Scanning artwork to be made into bases was also far more time consuming then. So, in their terms of use most people disallowed the use of their bases in rlc commissions. I respected it then, and even though many of those artists have moved on from pixel art I still respect those terms of use.(Honestly, this isn't much different than how sims content creators run their terms of use regarding their creations, including myself)

Ah, that's part of why we're getting on smashingly. High fives around, fellow autistic friend. I'm not diagnosed, but I'm pretty damn sure. I wonder if people with autism tend to gravitate to SU due to how the Gems are meant to be neurodiverse. I sometimes think I have adhd, but it's more likely to be dissociative tendencies.(which are indeed diagnosed)

Yeah, I had to teach myself boundaries as a young adult, s**t sucked but is a skill I very much value having these days. These days she's up there with everyone else, but Amethyst is the one I started off not liking b/c she reminded me too much of myself when I was younger(At least in a way I didn't like, truthfully the most of the main cast remind me of myself at /some/ stage of my life)

I remember after YD was made known and during one of those bone dry hiatuses, I rewatched the series from ep1 to see what I could see. The RQ theory was new and hotly debated. I remember watching one of the episodes featuring the cloud arena and seeing the smashed Pink Diamond in the diamond insignia, I thought about how there must have been other Diamonds. I looked at the shattered one again, thought about how Rose was as gone as PD was implied to be, and thought...But Rose was Pink Diamond Right? The only time I really doubted it was after Bismuth and The Trial, but Your Mother and Mine made things a bit more clear before Jungle Moon happened lol. I had a friend I watched with and they were just as convinced as I was.

What was truly masterful about all that is, they made as ask the question, "Is Rose Pink?" But we never thought to ask as a fandom,"What happens if Rose IS Pink?" The fall out in show from that was amazing.

I felt WD was to close to being a narcissistic type parent. I also saw how YD overworked herself and became what she did b/c WD's expectations of her were just as too much as they were of PD. Everyone talks about how BD and YD are just as bad as WD. While they certainly could've made different choices sooner, they're just as much victims of Homeworld as everyone else is. Again, WD did not get the same amount of time for development that the other two did. So it seems rushed, and like she didn't really learn anything. I would like her more if they actually gave her time to develop into someone who deserves to be where WD left off in the show. This is also somewhat on CN for getting a hair up their a** over a certain wedding.(But looky, looky, Garnet is your figurative lbgt spokesperson every time June comes around) But, I did also project way too much of my shitty childhood onto this show at some point, so take that as you will.

Oh yes. Those skills come in handy when I want to make clothing and stuff of the like for my sims as well.

I feel that, my husband and I are still having angry feels over some drama that happened a while back.

But I'm glad you want a bust, I was feeling a bust I would love to take on Sophie, she's spooky and needs more art! sweatdrop I'll be honest, I have no idea how to price my art, so please make an offer. I will animate regardless of price(If you want animation that is), however since the skill is new to me and I don't know my limits, I will choose the animation. Do you want her on the more cutesy side, or the more sexy side? Also, I'd like to see her item list please! It helps me have accurate colors and accurately depict avatars through pixel art!

As much as that hurt me, I could also relate to PD too. No one ever taught her boundaries or how to have them with others. They showed us her growth as a person backwards.

I still remember when it finally sank in that RQ=PD. It was Jungle Moon. That wild dream. I'm an art nerd with a great understanding of symbolism, so the writing was on the wall after that. My first suspicions on the then theory though was Bismuth telling Steven that Rose's sword couldn't shatter Gems, and BD insisting it was a sword during the Trial. Someone was lying and it wasn't either of them XD

There aren't many of the main characters I don't like. Garnet is a fave right alongside Peridot. She's a badass in so many ways.

I still remember when they casually dropped Blue Diamond into The Answer. That was very special, and so unexpected!

The only Diamond I don't care for is WD, I feel like she didn't get the kind of time for development the other two did. She still feels like a creepy hag. Love her design though.

It is, I still do it oldschool with a mouse too! sweatdrop I use a really old art program to make my pixel art, I'm truthfully surprised it runs the way it does on win10 XD

Yeah, stress and burnout. I burnout really fast and I know I need manage that or risk getting overwhelmed and get nothing done. I feel that, I would've burnt right out if I tried to have a shop when i was younger. Keep this knowledge in your pocket until better times comes heart

Evangline's color balance is so nice! Everything is nice together, soothing. I love that hair, and have since that item first came out! I also just saw Sophie! SpoOkY SkElEtOn girl!!! She's adorable.

A quick disclaimer, I do use bases for my pixel art. Some are mine, others are vintage bases made by other people during the 2000s. It cuts down on burnout a lot, and I enjoy it this way. These bases also get edited into oblivion by me. I'm more than happy to show you the bases I use too.

Spinel was great, I loved her introduction quite a bit. Cried my eyes out when PD left her there like a stray cat. Loved Bismuth, and the wedding arc. That was wonderful. Lapis was so badass. Peridot is a favorite in this household it's amazing XD

I really liked anything to do with Homeworld tbh. I always knew BD would be the first Diamond to come over to Steven's side and wasn't disappointed in it. I really liked both YD and BD's arcs a lot. I felt like I knew who they were even before we found out!

I was thinking of doing what Akuhei12 did and open a one slot shop since I know I have issues with consistent work motivation if I take on too much. I saw your pretty oc there b/c I was trying to see how something like a one slot shop could work for me.(I wanted to see who won, and your oc was just that pretty lol) If you wanted to commission me for some pixel art I wouldn't be opposed to it. It would certainly take the anxiety out of making a post rofl Would you like to see some other examples?

No lie, SU was therapeutic at times for me. I don't think I've ever felt as hard as when I watched that show. Any stand out arcs for you?

Okay, first of all I feel like a complete a** (scratch that, I am an a**) for not popping in your shop to learn what went down with your mom and say something sooner. So I'll say it now: I am so, so sorry for your loss, Lina. Life is such a b***h and I hate how it slaps us in the face with or without warning. What happened with your mom is so effing heartbreaking and all I can do is give my utmost condolences and internet hugs. If there is any silver lining to take from her passing, it is that she is no longer suffering, and I think that is among the things that matters most (even though the fact the person you care about is gone hurts like an absolute b***h...)

I hope time has allowed you to start healing, even though the wounds are still fresh, and that life has cut you some slack and is treating you well. heart emotion_hug
