Little feet tapped quickly on the floor of a great mansion, and an albino man smiled. He opened his arms wide as the prince of his nation flung himself into his arms with a loud giggle. "Oi, Friedrich! Awfully cheerful today, aren't you?" He laughed, and swung the child into his arms. Little Friedrich again giggled and put his arms around the man's neck. "Only 'cause you're here, Mister Gilbert!"
Prussia smiled, his red eyes with a certain twinkle in them. He knew this child wouldn't always be this way. One day he would marry and become king to his Nation. One day they'd be more like colleagues, no longer a familial bond. Gilbert had taken it upon himself to care for the child, because his father was too busy, and too strict.
Friedrich was a prince, and so had his princely duties. But today was a cleared day for him, a day to just relax and have fun. Gilbert was always worn out by the time Friedrich had taken him in a long chase around the house, through the gardens...
"C'mon and catch me, Mister Gilbert!" He'd laugh, and take off through the gardens. Prussia would soon follow, laughing as he caught up and swung the child into his arms.
This would go on for hours upon hours, until finally Friedrich was too worn out to do any more running. Prussia would scoop him up and hold him closely, smiling as he heard his breathing slow and he knew the child was asleep. He'd lay little Friedrich down into his bed and lightly stroke his blond hair before walking out with a smile and closing the door behind him.
Some nights, he'd hear Friedrich whimper, "M-Mister Gilbert... I'm scared..." And would be forced, even if it was his own free will, to go and comfort the young prince.
