chapter 5: The big fight
That night during supper, Mr. Anderson went on and on about his new job as a detective and it was starting to drive the whole family insane. “Shall I say it again” said Mr. Anderson with one finger raised in the air “the boss told me that he thought I was one of the best men he had ever chosen to do this job “ah!!!” I feel so good” “honey!!!!” you said that four times already and guess what! I don’t care about it” shouted Mrs. Anderson as she darted up the stairs. “Gee I wonder what’s eating her.” Mr. Anderson said with a puzzled look on his face. “Maybe she is jealous” Emily said with a smirk. “Or maybe she wanted to leave the table because Thomas’s face was becoming uglier. “Oh! Shut up u stupid twit” shouted Thomas. “Enough you two” said Mr. Anderson. “Your mother just needs some rest ok” “yea whatever!” shouted Emily then darted up the stairs. “Say dad” ask Thomas. “Has your boss made you do any cases yet?” “Nope, because I am still new to the job so I am going to have to work with something more easily ok sport” “whatever you say dad” said Thomas as he walked slowly up the stairway. Three weeks went by and every time dad came home to tell a great story about work he was always shut down by mom. Francis came by every day and we went to throw the football around and sit and talk. Then one morning while mom was cooking breakfast, Francis came to the door a little earlier then usual. “Say you want to go and shoot some basketball?” he asked. “Well right now I am getting ready to eat but would u like to wait inside?” said Thomas. “Sure!” said Francis with a grin. “Hey mom this is my friend Francis” Thomas shouted. “Why hello Francis and how are u this morning?” Mrs. Anderson asked. “Just fine” Francis replied with a huge smile. “Gosh you got some place here” “well it’s not much but we love it” shouted Thomas with pancakes in his mouth. “Thomas Wilbert Anderson!” shouted Mrs. Anderson “please chew your food before talking” “yea, it’s not good to chew like that or else you will choke to death” Francis said as he pretended to choke. “See Thomas, why can’t u be polite like Francis here” said Mrs. Anderson with a chuckle. “Maybe it’s because you’re my mom” whispered Thomas. “Say Mrs. Anderson” asked Francis with a smile. “If it is ok with you I would like to have Thomas over for a sleepover if you don’t mind” “oh yes please mom?” Thomas pleaded. “Hum, well I see no trouble with it” said Mrs. Anderson "yay!" shouted both of the boys as they raced outside. After playing 3 hours of hard basketball with Seth, Kyle, jack, Eddie, and Francis, Thomas fell to the ground exhausted. "Hey how about another game of 21" shouted Francis as he took as shot and missed the goal. "Nah" said Thomas. "I’m beat" "yea same here" said Seth as he lade back in the sun. "So what are we going to do during the sleep over?" asked Thomas. "What do u think?" shouted Francis. "Were going to have a great time you just wait" "ha.... a sleep over sounds great" said Kyle. "But I got a date tonight with Laura” “Laura! “Seth shouted. “Since when have you two been going together?” “We have been together for like two weeks man” replied Kyle. “Well I hope you guys have fun” Thomas said as he stood and started walking home. “Remember to be at my house by 6:00 tonight” shouted Francis from behind. Francis’s house was amazing; when I first arrived I stopped to look at it. There was a water pond on the side of the house, the sidewalk was made of crystal rocks and there were flowers all over the place. Hum not bad for a brick house. Inside, I met Francis mom who name was Mrs. Fine. Then Francis showed me a picture of him when he was little. “Why are you sitting by a trampling crying?” Thomas asked pointing to a small picture. “Well” Francis cleared his throat. “I was trying to be like superman when I lost balance and fell” “really now” Thomas said with laughter. “Umm lets go play up stairs shall we” said Francis as he started up the stairs. Following behind, the boys played video games until it was time for dinner. “This dinner is really good” said Thomas as he tried to sound polite. “Well it was made by beautiful hands” chuckle Mr. Fine. “Hey mom” Francis asked. “Were going outside now ok” “sure honey, be back soon” Outside in the dark, Thomas paused as he starred over at his house. “What’s wrong?” asked Francis. “Well it’s just that I have never been outside after 10:00 before. “Really now” replied Francis. “whys that” “well it’s because my dad makes us come inside early and he says that sleeping early makes u wake up strong and healthy” said Thomas as he kicked the dirt. “Interesting” Francis said although he scratched his head at the thought. Just then Seth, Kyle, and jack came from the darkness with two girls following. “Yo Francis what’s up” Seth shouted with a big shining grin. “Oh nothing much” he replied. As the crew drew nearer, Francis put his around Thomas and started laughing. “Guess what guys, this is Thomas’s first time out in the dark” after a moment of silence everyone broke out into a laugh except Thomas. “I don’t think that’s really funny” said one of the girls as she approached Thomas. “Hi, my name is Melissa” “it’s nice to meet you” Thomas said with a stutter. “Say” Francis shouted. “Lets all go down to the lake and watch the moon reflect off the water” everyone agree and was half way down the road when suddenly, Seth pointed at a house. “Hey guys its a-a-Amy” he laughed. Amy was playing with her dog along with two other friends. “What should we do to her?” asked Francis with an evil smile. “We could get some dog crap and throw it at her while we pass” giggled Melissa. ““No that’s nasty!” shouted Laura. Without thinking Thomas shouted. “Lets just beat her up” silence grew as Francis blurted out. “Ok then, I dare you to do it” “ok I will” replied Thomas as he was again not thinking. Suddenly, another girl came out of the house with a boom box and started dancing to it.”Oh no” said Thomas for he knew who it was. “MAPLE”
