Ok...I just got off DA and I can't figure it out for the life of me. Why in the seven bloody hells is it that weddings make people all happy and giggly??? Why????? That is one thing I've noticed, babies and weddings make people all giggly and happy. You ask (almost) any girl between 6 and 35 what she thinks about the word wedding, and she goes ballistic with all these details. ....confusion....
Why is this? Is it the dress? No...that doesn't make any sense because its just a dress. Its fabric only. Its not like the old days where the dress was hand made and sewn for the bride (well unless you're super rich now). SO that theory is out. Is it the rings? No...doesnt make any sense either.....its metal. I love metal as much as the next artist or weaponry lover but still..... I could go down and make a ring in about five minutes. So why? Again, its just metal, its just processed its not made indivudually, I can and will place money that there are at least 50 others in the world of any one design ,even the ones my parents wear,....so thats out as well. Is it the honeymoon? No..that doesnt make any sense because again it doesnt hold as much importance as it once did. Now its just a vacation filled with sex in some place you've most likely never been to and never again will. *rubs head* It doesnt make any sense....
What once was never again will be, the wedding used to be held in honor and purity, now it completely different. Women, and often men would take themselves to their mates pure, and pledge themselves to them for life. Now, forget it. People have sex when they're only in middle school and they break their vows all the time. Marriages don't stay together for more than 5 years when they've married "for love" and if they do? Forgive me but I have seen only two that have honestly survived and are not bitter and hateful towards one another.
Yea I know how many marriagaes were for quite a time, I know how women were treated, and I know that having other lovers was actually encouraged (at least among nobility) Still...for a time marriages actually were quite good and there was peace. Men actually would marry a gel inorder to preserve her honor and eventually you could come to have a working marriage, maybe not love as people see it today, but love all the same. *beats head on wall*
