The Beginning of a Revolution
[Melodramatics]
She struck a pose
She did a dance
She laughed at someone’s underpants
She couldn’t know
She couldn’t imagine
She couldn’t accept the world she lived in
And who could’ve known
That little Sarah Ford
Could serenade her demons
And still keep her word
He spoke of kingdoms
He sang some tunes
He took her to other worlds and moons
He told false truths
He told many lies
He told her things which their world defies
And who could’ve known
That little Sarah Ford
Could struggle with his mess
And still leave well assured
She froze her shoulder
He glared her way
She let all of them say what they may
He chose not to listen
She chose not to deal
He said that this time, he’d hurt her for real
And who could’ve known
That little Sarah Ford
Could beat the dirty monster
With pen and not sword
<3 to all the peeps who helped her beat the monster…
Though the battle has not yet been won.
PS: Those who do not know me personally, I am Sarah Ford.
PPS: Those who do not know who "he" or "the dirty monster" is, he's my dad.
The subject matter of this poem pertains to a difference I tried to make in my life which never worked out.
