Raine's off investigating the ruins, so I've been at the house with future me all day. He's feeling better now, so I finally got to ask him some questions. Apparently, he began studying time soon after the incident and was able to master some complicated spells, one being Time Stop. With the help of Sybak's and Meltokio's research facilities, he was able to develop a brace infused with a spell that allowed him to travel through time. He worked on the project in secret and hid his true motives from everyone, so only he and Raine know about it. The brace took a long time to make and can only be used twice, so once he leaves, we'll probably never see him again.
He still didn't tell me who he injured with the mystic arte, but we did make a slightly alarming discovery. When I accidentally pushed him into that portal, he didn't end up in Derris Kharlan. He ended up in Sylvarant, which means he never found that flower with healing properties. Raine's healing artes improved significantly after I gave her the flower and she combined it with the Ymir fruit. She was able to grow her own flowers from seeds, so I gave one to him and shared Raine's notes with him. He copied them and seemed hopeful that his friend could be saved.
Since he was still worried about me using my new mystic arte, he offered to train me, and I happily accepted. I can confidently say that I can use the arte without losing control of it now. He also shared some of his research on time with me, but it'll probably be a while before I'm able to do something that complex.
As the sun began to set, Lloyd barged in the door stating he was worried about me since he heard I was out for two days. Before I could say anything, future me ran up to him and hugged him, crying. Now I think I know who that friend was that he injured. I'm really glad future me came to stop me from using that arte. I'm not sure what I'd do if I hurt Lloyd. Actually, I guess I would have eventually invented a time machine to try to save him...
Anyway, Lloyd's really confused right now and is spouting some nonsense about me having an older brother, so I'd better go and explain all this to him. Once all this blows over, I think I'll finally be ready to take down Mighty in Meltokio's Colosseum. I can't wait to see the look on his face when I use my new arte!

Trying to explain the concept of time and time travel to Lloyd is gonna be a challenge, but I can't wait to show him my new mystic arte. I'm pretty confident I can use it without any issues now. I'll probably show it to him in Iselia Forest so I won't destroy any more of Raine's artifacts.
