"Right now, I'm in my house, in my office, thinking about a lot of things.
"The only thing that I have from my job as a homicide detective is the specially issued gun I have. So far, no calls to have it back, but I oddly feel some type of way if they so much as did.
"I didn't get fired, but rather had an odd situation. I don't want to talk about it just yet, but the displacement is rather overwhelming and I'm not sure what to tell my family. Financially we're comfortable, but I still need to sustain a job before those savings start to deplete. I don't want that to happen."

"It's been a while, but I finally managed to secure an office. Been looking for some time, now, for one that can accommodate my friends and I. I just need to work some things out, but now I have a problem I need to address."

"Sydney told me that a certain acquaintance of mine would like us to come over for dinner sometime. Bouillabaisse. Sid grew up in Marseilles before moving to the States, so I knew he wouldn't be able to resist, and he seemed too happy for me to even reject, but..."
"I know who they are and I know what they're trying to do. We'll go, but I'm gonna make sure that Sydney isn't uncomfortable."

"The dinner turned out ok. Sydney managed to enjoy myself and it was rather...Ok on my end, too. Will probably be teased, which I'm not looking forward to. Need to keep my guard up for a while with these kids..."

"I'd say that it's Ebele's fault that that list is long, but then again, I think everyone pitched in over time. I also just caught Sid feeding Rice a bunch of Spanish peanuts not long after he polished off the kaisendon I gave him, so that's now on the list. Ebele will have a fit if I give Rice back and he's stuffed like a turkey."
