The term gardening plants is a very broad term used to describe the various varieties of the plant species. This can refer to vegetables, fruits, flowers, grass, bushes, cactus etc. Flowers alone have thousands of species, and gardening plants as a term has to many species to even start on describing. Plants have characteristics to grow and thrive at different times of the year. Some are made for warm moist weather, while others are made for the dry desert heat. There are gardening plants that can adapt to practically any weather and there are thousands of species to fit your needs.

At the same time the Spanish Franciscan Friars, who settled in the Taxco region of southern Mexico, included the timely winter grown red blooms of the plants in their Fiesta de Pesebre, the Nativity procession. The star-shaped leaf pattern is said to symbolize the Star of Bethlehem and was named Noche Buena” meaning Christmas Eve. The name poinsettia” is derived from Joel Roberts Poinsett who was the first United States Minister to Mexico from 1825 to 1829. Mr. Poinsett first brought poinsettia plants to America.

The front entrance of a house is the mouth of Chi” and represents our relationship with society. Entrances, front doors and pathways should be inviting and welcoming to attract positive Chi. Entrances should be free from blockages, barriers and clutter. A hidden” front door needs special enhancements to draw in the Chi energy, such as lighting the path or hanging a wind chime at the entrance.

Pruning, deadheading, staking, dividing and pest control are all practices which must be practiced religiously in order to have best appearance of your perennial flower beds. Perennial flowers cannot be ‘set and forget' any more than annuals. A favorite fall blooming flower for many is the aster frikartii. Its clusters of 2 ½ inch single blooms come in lavender darkening to violet blue with yellow centers.

The edible fruits produced from this flower is called rose hips and many people believe the fruit has healing properties. An aromatic oil that is made by steam-distilling petals of rose, known as Attar of Rose, has been used by people as an element in perfumes for centuries. Almost all cut roses that are sold by florists today are the hybrid tea variety. Roses can grow as vine-like climbers or as bushes, and depending, the blossoms can set singly on its individual stems or also in clusters of up to a dozen on a single spray.

Of course, for all of the above to work effectively and maintain those happy levels of serotonin and dopamine, there's another prerequisite according to another interesting bit of research I found. It appears it will all work much better with organic soil and crops that haven't been contaminated with Roundup or Glyphosate-based herbicides. This proviso also extends to what you eat, so ideally you'll avoid consuming non-organic foods that have been grown in farmland using glyphosates.
