Acne is something that a lot of people would be happy to be eradicated if possible. For acne, there are several ways to treat it. You can either use conventional medications or natural cures. If you have mild to moderate acne, give home remedies a try because they're cheap, simple, and generally safe. Keep reading to learn about some of the best natural acne remedies used by many people worldwide.

There are many people whose acne problem was helped by tea tree oil. Tea tree oil is similar in properties as OTC and prescription medications for acne. While you probably wouldn't have tea tree oil laying around at home, you can buy it easily online or from any health food stores.

Tea tree oil is actually used for treating many ailments, and many have found that it's a good acne remedy. Tea tree oil makes for an excellent acne remedy because, just like benzoyl peroxide and other common acne medications, it is a potent anti-bacterial. Concentrated tea tree oil directly applied can cause irritation to the skin, so make sure you use it only in diluted form. One widely used home remedy is garlic. Garlic can be taken orally, or for acne, it can be applied to the skin. Garlic is a natural anti-bacterial agent. The best way to use it for acne is to mash it up using either an old fashioned mortar and pestle or a food grinder. You can apply the mashed up garlic where you have acne and you'll need to leave this on there for a few minutes. The only downside is that it has a strong odor, so you'll have to wash it off thoroughly. However, when you wash your face, be gentle so as not to irritate your skin, which is already inflamed.

Another effective acne home remedy is one you use daily: toothpaste. However, if you use gel toothpaste, you'll need to get regular toothpaste. Whitening toothpaste is out too. It's got ingredients that can prove to be too harsh on the skin. What you want to use is ordinary white toothpaste. When applied on pimples, it promotes faster healing. Toothpaste actually works very much like how a facial mask works: it absorbs the oils on the skin and promotes clearer skin.

If you have an acne problem, it's understandable that you'd be looking for treatments that will help get rid of your acne fast. Sometimes, you can treat your acne effectively using home remedies. Of course, if your acne is severe, you'd have to see a dermatologist and use prescription medication. However, acne that is mild to moderate can often be treated with natural cures.
