Illumination Entertainment has promoted Gail Harrison to president of marketing and branding.
Harrison has been at the studio behind Despicable Me and Minions for five years. She was previously serving as EVP of creative marketing.
In her new job, Harrison will head up a team focused on print and audio visual advertising, as well as graphic and product design. Upcoming projects include next summers The Secret Life of Pets, which centers on two dogs trying to stop a criminal conspiracy, and Sing, the story of a koala and a sheep hosting a musical competition.

There her path crossed with Meledandri, who had a deal at the studio at the time. He hired her at Fox Animation to help market and promote his films. Illumination is housed at Universal.
Prior to Fox, Harrison was at the Walt Disney Company where she initiated the princess brands, creating their first modern style guides. At Disney she worked with companies like P&G and Mattel. She started her career working for Saul Bass, the legendary graphic designer, working with the likes of Exxon, AT&T and Wells Fargo.
