Hey where in South Africa should a Hispanic-American guy live in SA.?
Hey where in South Africa should a "white" Hispanic guy live in SA. I want to move, I speak very good Dutch (and Spanish) believe it or not. The reason being was because my parents worked in Aruba when I was young and the wanted to send me to best private school in Aruban society, but it is not like New York City, London, or Johannesburg where there are many elite schools to choose from.

So the only one pretty catered to the Dutch nationals who lived are were all very wealthy.

So I received a Dutch education (do not know if the Afrikaner school system is derived from the Netherlands), and I learned Spanish at home and at times English and learned Dutch and English at school.

When my parents realized that I spoke fluent Dutch she decided it would be to good of a waste so made sure I never forgot it. We went to Holland and my parents made me speak only Spanish or Dutch...NO ENGLISH (which I consider my first language, like the language I think in).

And then the summer I graduated high school in Manhattan (I'm American), my parents took me to Cape Town...and drove throughout the Western Cape with our Afrikaner tour guide and body guard. I spoke with him with ease. I slipped into the accent and understood it easily because I was used to hearing variants and incarnations of the Dutch language. Having lived and been to many islands within the Dutch Caribbean and even spoke to a very old wealthy Indonesian couple who were taught and spoke Dutch and still do. I was amazed (look it up, the Dutch has a colonial history with Indonesia).

Anyway, I fell in love with South Africa. We spent two days in Johannesburg, mainly in Sandton and I loved the cosmopolitan flair that reminded me of New York City. And the Western Cape, oh my freaking gosh!

My beloved Western Cape. I want to live there, I want to die there. And Durban I have yet to discover.

But I even visited Stellenbosch University for the hell of it and I really wanted to go. But this was the summer of when I graduated high school, and my parents were scared of the crime we always read about in SA. But they said they will think about it if I still want to go for graduate school.

And I was already accepted into a very good college in America.

So I now have a very successful online company and I make always close to seven figures American dollars. And I can live anywhere in the world as long as I have reliable Internet connection.

Which shouldn't be hard for a developed country like SA.

I know things are bad, but my money and income comes from America. So I do not have to worry about finding a job.

So where would I live where I can enjoy all the good that makes South Africa the love of my life.

My goodness, I cannot tell you, South Africa was always the love I have longed denied. I love SA, I do, oh I do.

So where would you recommend? Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Limpopo? I want to perfect my Afrikaans and I feel that could be done in the Western Cape or Gauteng...what do you think?
