Stable oxygen isotope analyses (δ18O) were performed on 5–6 individuals of the benthic foraminifera Cibicidoides kullenbergi (> 150 μm, 5 cm sample resolution). The isotopic composition was measured with a Finnigan MAT 251 mass spectrometer (MARUM Isotope Laboratory, University of Bremen, Germany). A working standard (Burgbrohl CO2 gas) was applied, which has been calibrated against PDB by using the NBS 18, 19 and 20 standards. All isotope data given here are relative to the PDB standard. The analytical standard deviation was about ± 0.07‰ PDB.
