Facial Augmentation Procedures
The following procedures can be performed to enlarge certain facial features.
Jaw implant: The jaw implant will make the jaw line more prominent. This type of implant is commonly placed in men who desire a more angular jaw appearance.
Chin implant: The chin implant comes in a variety of shapes and sizes to meet the needs of all types of patients. In patients with a pointy chin, a wide chin implant may be placed to balance out the chin's appearance. A narrower chin implant can be placed to produce more definition in the chin area. The chin implant can also be used to correct a recessed chin or make a round face appear longer.
Cheek implant: Like the chin implant, cheek implants can greatly alter the shape of the face. Cheeks implants can be placed to make the face appear fuller, restore volume that has been lost to aging, and produce the appearance of higher and more defined cheekbones. Cheek implant surgery is well suited to patients that have long, thin faces.
Dermal fillers: Dermal fillers can be used to add volume to all areas of the face. Depending on the changes that the patient desires, soft tissue fillers such as Perlane, Restylane, Juvederm, and Radiesse, can be injected into specific areas. Injections into the cheeks can make the face look fuller and more contoured. Injections into the chin can create more balance. Jaw injections can fill out areas that are starting to become affected by skin laxity. Dermal fillers can even be injected into the nose to smooth out ridges or reduce the appearance of bumps.
Fat transfer: The fat transfer treatment offers similar uses to dermal fillers, as the transferred fat adds fullness to the treatment area. However, the fat transfer procedure requires liposuction as the first step of treatment. This may be seen as an added advantage or drawback of the fat transfer procedure. The good thing about liposuction is that it allows for the removal of unwanted fat. The disadvantage of liposuction is that it makes the fat transfer treatment process far more involved than the injection of dermal fillers.
Facial Reduction Procedures
These procedures can be performed to reduce certain facial features.
Osteotomies: Osteotomies are operations in which the patient's natural bone material is shaved down or cut to alter its alignment. The following osteotomy procedures may be performed to change the shape of the face.

Jaw reduction surgery: Jaw reduction surgery can be performed to change the shape of the face. The treatment may involve a mandible angle reduction procedure to recontour the mandible and produce more of an oval face shape.
Malar reduction: In the malar reduction procedure, the cheek bones are shaved down to make them less prominent. This procedure can narrow a wide face.
