All is what is.
Clichéd Morale Boosters
I just read this in the ED:
"Are you me, OP? D:

I know the feeling.

All I can say is dig down deep and find your inner strength.

No matter what that person says to you, you are bigger and better than them and they will never be as much of a badass as you.

Why do people do things like that? It's because you have something they don't have and that drives them insane.

You make them so insecure that they just want to destroy you to preserve their own warped ego.

You are better than them because you can recognize that kind of behavior is bullshit.

One day, you'll have moved far past all this and then suddenly this person, for whatever reason will cross your mind, and you'll realize how truly pathetic and ridiculous they are.

Stay strong, live long, and prosper."

Now this right here is what I'm talking about. Of course, this was met with instant approval by the 'OP', like always.

Just what is it with these same, s**t laden phrases that everyone loves? I could seriously copy and paste these lines, just like the poster did, and put it on every self-help thread/forum/whatever, and all the fools will just eat it up like candy. Maybe I could toss in my own piece of advice near the middle or end, then people will listen to me like I'm some sort of god of wisdom.

This one is one of many glorious repeats of self-help nonsense that almost everyone says at some point in their lives.

Let's break this one down:
1. Talk about 'inner strength'. Check
2. Talk about being 'bigger and better'. Check
3. Talk about jealousy of the second party. Check
4. Talk about 'prosperity'. Check

This one needs 3 extra points for it:
"Stay strong, live long, and prosper."
1. You got a nice little rhyme scheme going on there.
2. Commands the person to do what is most commonly the same as everyone else.
3. When either 'strength' or 'prosperity' is spoken, nearly everyone listens to the person speaking it. This is fact, except I for one never do.
4. The perfect end for someone who didn't actually offer any advice, just re-quoted phrases that have been tried, but never actually spread any type of knowledge, except that the ones who commandeer such ideology, like every other person you hate, will give you the same speech...

Why is it that both the defendant and the prosecutor fall victim to this same, nonsensical speech?

I'd like you to imagine this incredibly small scenario, and follow through just why I hate it so much:

*Suicide hot-line headquarters.*
Manager: "Now, when these people call, you are to tell them this line sometime during the call; "Stay strong, live long, and prosper."

I don't really have to go further into the scene, because that's good enough.

These are called "platitudes". I'm adding this now, which is 5 months later, because I completely forgot what they were called, lol.
