Today, I am updating you on the status of something called "family". Do you know of it? Well, for me, it's almost like a forgien concept.

I guess you could say that I've had a hard life, and it seemed to me that "family" meant related people who live together, that care or at least try to no matter what exactly might be going on. Then again, what am I to say? I've given birth to no child and have never been married to start my own family, but honestly, what does me creating my family have to do with this? I know that I don't have to create one to be a part of it - as I have a family on Gaia. The Cruxis members and my nearly 50 friends that I've collected since I've joined some years ago. WOW.

But not all friends have that "family" status, I've noticed.

The real reason why I am debating "family" and the concept of it is because I over heard a huge fight between my mother and step father this morning before leaving the house. I had to leave because I wanted to get on Gaia, but I waited until the whole thing was over, as I am not the matter that is wanted to be discussed at this time! I can't believe it, though, they never EVER fight. It was over my little sister's schooling, because she's got perfect grades, but her teachers don't correct her errors like spelling and the like. She's got a 4.0 GPA and always have, but my mom is concerned that just because she has the grades doesn't make her smart - so she wants to homeschool Natashia. Poor kid, she's all ready under the thumb constantly, it doesn't need to get any worse. Honestly, she's lucky she has free thought, even if she can't put it to use. The only worse situation I've seen like this is in FFVI with Terra's slave crown. eek Mom means the best, but Natashia wants to say in public school to play sports and actually have friends. If she was homeschooled, she'd not have a friend. EVER. It's puzzling. What matters more? The development of social skills or education? I know for a fact that my little brother chose Education, leaving all of his emotions behind. I also know that I took the educational route, and I'm hard to get along with. Natashia's peers like to take advantage of her hard working nature and make her do the work when she works in groups or they'll bring her grade down. I don't know how to handle this, and Natashia's really REALLY upset. I can't get invovled, or it'll be my hide... I could step between my dad and Ralph, but step between Natashia and Frank? Is blood the reason why? I'd sacrifice myself gladly for the sake of my siblings. I know that both my dad and Frank are smart men and care about their children very much, the most of anything in life. But I just don't see why... I just don't see how... Ralph and Natashia are near and dear to me. That's what "family" means, right? The closest to your soul?

And I guess it won't really matter until I have children of my own... but... damn!
