From the Darkness Comes a Dark Soul
I have nothing to say.
I lost one of the greatest dogs today, 9/18/09.
His name was Buddy (Budweiser) Cain. He was a German Shepard, Beagle mix and one of the cutest dogs to exist on this planet. He loved everyone and everyone loved him.
There was just something about him that people liked. I think it was his eyes. They were the biggest, cutest brown eyes that I have ever seen and I highly doubt that I shall see those kind of eyes again. He was fourteen years old, an awesome number, age wise, for a dog of his breed.

He is gone now… He had a sort of seizure today and become non-responsive to almost everything but a belly rub. It broke my heart because he couldn’t hold his bladder and he just looked so broken… But… there was nothing we could have really done for him.
We took him to the emergency vet to learn that he was bleeding out into his stomach and that he might have a malicious tumor in his stomach or in his spleen. He was suffering… and that is why we, me and my step-mom Steph, thought it was better if we just… let him go.
He is in a better place now… and all who knew him and enjoyed him will miss him dearly. I wish I could have shared him with you, but… you will just have to go by my word on how awesome he was.

Im sorry to hear that, he sounded like an awesome dog. If you ever want to just talk about it, I'll always lend an ear.

smilies/icon_crying.gif It sounds like you were really close to your dog. My friend lost her dog recently as well and I couldn't grasp how much it must hurt. I have a dog that I've had since I was 3. We grew up together and now he's 14.
He lives with my grandparents and I can't see him very often but I saw him today. He has gone blind in his left eye, he has lost a lot of weight, he is missing some teeth as well. He's eatting a lot less too. It really puts things in perspective for me. Now I can't possibly think of life without my dog but it gives me an idea of what it may feel like to loose him. It will hurt many times over more than it does not to see him so frail. He still tries to jump up on you though, his tail wags when you pet him and brush him. I'm buying him some new dogfood for "senior citizen" age dogs so it will be easier for him to chew.
I'm sorry for your loss, and wish you the best in dealing with him being gone from your family. Your dog sounded like he was a very loving animal and I hope he is a lot happier now.
