>_> <_< >_>
So... that day finally came. After skipping layoffs a month or two ago and opting to go with a company wide pay cut instead, yesterday my company decided that more layoffs were going to be necessary after all.
I think some people, when I said there was layoffs again and I won the jackpot, thought that I meant I got to keep my job. Well, they'll figure it out eventually.
At the moment, I'm not too upset about it. I didn't like my job very much anyways. So, I see opportunity and possibility rather than 'OMG I LOST MY JOB!!' I know the job market is really bad these days, so I'm going to first consider if it'd be possible to not go back to work right away and instead take some classes.
I'd be able to put 'some college' on my resume, at least.
What's daunting me though... is so much paperwork. x_x; So many things will now change, and nearly all of them require paperwork. Unemployment office - paperwork. Roll over my 401k - paperwork. Dental and Medical Insurance will expire at the end of the month, so use it while I can - paperwork. Budgets - paperwork. Checking out if I'd be able to take some classes - paperwork. If I actually decide to take some college classes - even more paperwork.
@_@;;; Definitely not looking forward to the paperwork. Still, for the moment at least, I am looking forward to: change. I think it was time for change. Onward ho! Hopefully that positive attitude will remain and I won't have a delayed reaction in a couple of weeks that goes: "OMG I LOST MY JOB!" I really don't think so.... but YNK? >>;;

I was trying to get a librarian job myself. First I went to an interview at my local library but I don't think I got it. The interview went well but things are so competitive nowadays! Just to get the interview I had to score high on an exam (I got 90%). And this job is only temporary hours--meaning when someone calls in sick or is on vacation I get to have their hours. AND they can let me go when they need to. wtf. Anyway...
I also applied to another library job at my community college but when I checked back for it the receptionist said that it was "on hold"--probably from budget cuts. ugh. You know, this isn't the greatest time to use my Bachelor degree....but at least I have it. I think I may just go for jobs that at least give me -money-, whatever that job may be. It's hard to be picky nowadays. People in my age group (20-29) have the highest unemployment rate right now.
um...
But good luck Kava! heh. I like your positive attitude despite all the things you have to do. Paperwork is not fun. ugh
