Subject: Opinion on McCain based on his views on war As I've said before, I will always support the war. As long as there are soldiers over there willingly dying for our country, I will support the war. Say what you will about this. I understand my father isn't over there. He would be though, were he alive. Now about the "innocent Iraquis". At the beginning, many were killed, yes. But since then the only "innocents" killed were by their own people (save isolated occurances). The death toll is high, yes. It is about time it ends, yes. However, I still will continue to support it. And yes, we are the world police. Think about it. Was Korea + Vietnam not the same things? And were they not horridly devastating for us? It's not right, yet it's true. Our nation had become what Woodrow Wilson wanted of us.
Subject: Obama I actually don't think this one was directed at me. :l If it was, there was no need for it to. If we had to have a democrat, I would definitly go Obama, as I've said often. His gay marriage plan is actually better then allowing traditional marriage in my opinion. YOu see, this gives them the rights and doesn't piss off the part of the country that is too conservative to allow these rights to be given. It's a big leap, but not so big that some might miss and fall.
Subject: Silent Protest Wow. So glad only silent protest works. :l How one sided. I never said it didn't. But for those of you who don't know, I have reasons why I didn't participate in the NDS. First, I didn't know fully what it was for. I waited all week for Kris to explain it to me like she did the rest of the school. But since Jason told her "I was thinking about it" she didn't, I suppose. So Thursday I decided it was useless, as I didn't know why. Second, I had a feeling it would turn out the way it did. I saw two people all day doing it. Biffy and Jason. And the worst part? Jason told me he wasn't going to do it if he was the only one. That's dedication, is it not? (/sarcasm) one person will make no impact. Two, maybe. Three to five, sorta. A dozen or so? Definitly. But that kind of dedication is rarely, if ever found in high schoolers. So, now time to list reasons why silent protest is inferior 1) What if you're naturally a quiet person? Who'll ask then? 2) Very little impact unless multiple people engage in it 3) Most people do not notice it. (Not all) Now I'm not saying silent protest is "useless". Yes, silence accomplishes nothing. But silent protest does get some people's attention when it's drawn to them. It shows dedication, and that attracts people. But rarely is attention drawn to these silent protesters. Now some things that could make it more useful 1) "Advertising" or making sure everyone knows what you'll be doing before the day of. 2) More dedication. More people need to do it. And be dedicated. people like Ashley who kept "forgetting" and talking do not help the cause at all 3) Ribbon? SHirts? Anything that shows that you are participating in this event, and that you're not just a quiet person. Jason's arm was sorta what I meant, only lots of people do that, so some people wouldn't give it a second glance. 4) Like Jason, carry the reasons why in small flyers to distribute to curious individuals.
Don't think I forgot anything, but I may've. Please don't reply if you're gonna be an a** about it.
