Well, I haven't been active in the last few weeks here on Gaia. Unfortunately, I've run out of excuses; the best I can think of is "I'm really busy," but that's really not all true. I've just sort of gotten out of the habit of getting on Gaia and logging in to AIM every day.
It's a horrible excuse. I know.
Anyway, I've been reading a lot of Stephen King lately. I picked up some interesting ideas from Everything's Eventual, Riding the Bullet, and 1408. They're all really good short stories. I also recommend The Man in the Black Suit and Autopsy Room Four; both also very good. But, if you want a sad story, read L.T.'s Theory of Pets. It's funny for most of the story, but it suddenly turns into a very sad story near the end.
I love Stephen King's work because it all seem to modern. There's the modern density of cussing and such, including plenty of sexual references, all of which make me feel right at home.
On to the next topic (with lots of parentheses involved):
I just got back this afternoon (February 3rd, 2008 AD (or CE, depending on your preference), 21st century, for anyone who may find this ancient webpage in the distant future. Hell, you might speak a different language altogether, for all I know) from New York State (it's probably underwater by the time you're reading this, future-guy/gal), where I was staying at my dad's friend Tony's house with both my dad and "Uncle Tony." It's really cold up there. Even with gloves and such, my fingers were about to fall off (not literally. I'm not typing with my toes, mind you). I got to walk out onto a frozen lake, which was pretty cool (freezing). It was still a fun weekend.
On to the important stuff:
Nik, I miss talking to you! sad
I need to get on AIM one of these days. Sorry I haven't been on in forever.
Love, kisses, hugs (hugs?), etc.
