Puppet Masters' Puppet

Sitting upon the shelf sat a Puppet. When he had time.. He lifted the paddles; lifting her to her feet. Afterward he sat her up for the next show; she patiently waited. Still ever so patiently she waited surrounded by the others. Then he would return. Dressed in his uniform for the next performance. She Loved him but, she was merely a Puppet and he her Puppet Master. The dance then started. Swaying this way and that. He was ever so gentle. The first half done she poses and he bows. Again she sat upon the shelf waiting for him to retrieve her. She stands one last time to start the second half. Her partner in hand, she whispers,
"Let him be proud of me.."
From then, she never spoke, she never made a sound. She only obeyed. Sometimes she cried, but still she kept obeying and dancing. Turning and moving. Every now and then glancing up at him. Each step perfectly planned, each scar covered by a stitch. Each stitch full of memory. Her hand made dress.. the other Puppets. Sliding down she's almost done now. She turns to face the front and makes her final pose. The dance is finished. Then she makes her final lasting bow to them all; he is proud. Setting her down he smiles at her,
"You did beautifully, Love."
He looked into his Puppets' face the smile leaving his and asked..
"Why such a sad look on such a beautiful Puppets' face?"
Gazing into her face, he could see what was wrong.
"Merely a Puppet with the heart of a woman.. Don't give me that look. I Love you too, but you know I have someone else.. You will always be my one and ONLY Puppet though. I Promise.."
She thought about it then she kissed his cheek; Loving him more. For the very first time in her creation.. she smiled.. a real smile.. Herself by the side of her Puppet Master. Whom she never left. The Puppet seemed more real than most Hearts.. but.. Her Love for her Puppet Master will never fail..
