Well folks, I'm hoping you knew I was gone or whatever. I just got back from Italy and it was astounding. There for ten days I saw such beautiful things I cant describe. I went to too many places to count and it was all so different from Florida. Some of the major points of my travels are as followed; Rome, The Vatican, Assisi, Florence, Pompeii, Naples, Milan, Ferrara. The architecture is beautiful and its history blows away that of Americas. I've seen so many things and experienced so much.
One of the major problems though, was the restrooms. Now, there are very few public facilities and even when you did find one, wiether it be in a resteraunt or off the street you had to pay! You'd buy something from the shop or pay a man to go in. And thats bull crap right there cause the quality of the restrooms wasnt much to brag about. Sometimes a lack of toilet seat, lack of toilet paper, or lack of a toilet all together! In Ferarra we stopped to observe some Rennaisance architecture while a few of us slipped away to use the restroom. Taking one step into the stall I stood in awe. What I was staring at was nothing resempling a toilet. It was just a hole......in the ground.....Awkward.
Of course everyone is so obsessed with the statue of David, the Pieta, leaning tower of Pisa, the Sistine Chaple, and whatnot. I'll tell ya, it is INDEED all its cooped up to be. Got me plenty of pictures and video of us touring around. Our flight was from Florida to Atlanta then from there to Milan. While there we took a tour bus to our destinations, some of the rides lasting up to 6 hours ((With plenty of pit stops)) ME and mum had the best seats, by the stairs and we had a table and could sleep leaning forward.
Even with the 13 other teens of our group and the nearly 40 from others I bonded so much. Nearly all of my group, whom I didnt know so well, had a breakfast club session. Y'know, teens that dont know eachother talking their feelings and whatnot. Was kinda fun. The other two groups with us were from Canada and Luisiana (SP?) Got to know quite a few of them and had some fun to boot.
And lets get on the subject of the guys....OMG THE GUY! Hot....increadibly hot guys EVERYWHERE! When we were on our way from Milan the bus stopped at an Autogrill (Popular over there, dont ask, they're everywhere) for a pitstop. Our 14 kids including me were sitting outside of the entrance ((Out of our 14 only one was a boy)) A milan soccer team came over and started flirting with us, giving some girls kisses and hugs and whatnot until they left. Another encounter was when in traffic on our way to Pompeii our bus was sitting next to a car (Tiny car) Packed with 5 incredibly fine guys. (We were on the highway, not moving due to traffic) They flirted with us girls through the glass, writing notes and blowing us kisses.
My god this is so large and there is so much more to tell. Back to the subject of bathrooms, our hotels were kinda cheap, it only goes up to 4 stars over there and we never had better than a 3. In the bathroom it consists of a toilet, a sink, a baday (SP?) and a shower. The shower, which was not what you think, is just a showerhead connected to the wall. There was a drain in the floor and the whole bathroom was your shower. (Dont get your hopes up, it was small, cause of the damn baday) A baday is something that resembles a toilet, when your done doing your buisness, you just shuffle over to the baday, turn it on and a rush of water cleans your naughty places. O_o Most of us just used it to wash our feet or to shave our legs when there was no time for a shower. emo
