PrinceWatercress made a Journal?
Chatterbox fads are stupid. Read on to learn why.
I just found out that another of my friends has joined Gaia. If I could only figure out what his name is on the forums...

Anyway, I've gotten two threads in the Chatterbox sent to the Moderation Gas Chamber. For some strange reason, they were both those stupid "Answer these questions for a ton of gold" threads (which I'll call "survey threads" from now on).

Those really aren't illegal.

Yet.

Then why were they deleted? Simple...they were promising a specific amount of gold. Ms Quests a Lot and [Grawr], if you're even reading this, you're both the first two victims of what might be a soon-to-be-brought down verdict. That's right. I helped kill off your threads!

I've talked with terradi, and she and the mods are now talking about whether to destroy the survey threads once and for all.

Not only are some of them scams ("Answer these 100 questions for an easy 2.5K!" wink but some of them are now asking the "secret questions." The secret questions are the ones you fill out such as "What is your mother's maiden name?" or "Where do you live?", which you can then answer if you forget your password. Some of these threads have these questions as part of the stuff you need to answer...and it's a violation of the ToS.

12. Collect or store personal data from other GAIA Online Users.

That means where you live, what your real name is (either part of it or the whole thing), your IP address, etc.

It's gonna be over soon, people, whether you like it or not. Not just because of scamming, but also possible hacking as well. Amazing what happens when people don't think before they post.
